Ju-an tea room is set in a beautiful garden with a koi pond and the person performing the ceremony spoke good English. The location is slightly difficult to find as it's sort of down an alley/small street and is walled-in, so is not obvious. Look...More

Great Experience

A very nice teahouse. Everything was fine and perfect. We enjoyed it so much. We learned everything about the tea ceremony and we have had a great time.

great learning experience with delicious tea!

We learned about the tradition of tea ceremonies in Japan. We also saw a demo and got to practice making tea. It was a really enjoyable experience!

Divided into 4 parts - introduction, demo, make your own and history. It was a really interesting and informational session. Marcie (not sure if right spelling) was our host. She imparted her knowledge in the ceremony as much as she could during the time frame....More

Private tea ceremony near Kyoto station

We attended a private tea ceremony with Marcie. Booking was easy and she even managed to move appointments to give our family a private ceremony. It is tucked away on a side street near Kyoto Station. Location is easy but not very pretty or tranquil....More

Check the website but I believe below 12 is child I believe. There are specific times to sign up for on the website and she is very responsive to let you know if those times are not available what is open.
