About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- raisedbyTWAparents0 contributionsMagical, fun, informative, professional and safe! This is a review for a private 2-person tour. Our Itinerary was very similar to the "Six Days Tour to Maramures and Bucovina from Cluj-Napoca." Rolandia Travel helped us plan our personalized itinerary, with helpful suggestions throughout the process. They responded to questions kindly and promptly. Once we arrived in Cluj-Napoca, our guide, George, met us at the airport and we hit it off immediately. His car was a clean, solid, reliable BMW; his driving was careful and we felt very safe. George is also very knowledgeable and we learned a LOT! Throughout our travels, George was open to changing our plans; he also added additional sites and found restaurants when we were hungry. We felt like three adventurers, not two tourists and a guide! The Maramures and Bucovina areas are pure magic. If this were a review about the area, it would also get 5 stars! At the end of our tour in Romania, we took a bus from Cluj-Napoca to our next destination. George not only drove us to the bus station, but he also made sure our luggage was safely stowed and he didn't leave until we were physically on the bus! This is only one example of the level of care we received throughout the tour.Written 5 October 2024

- siobhanreilly720 contributionsWe were o a short weekend break and it was great to get the three ve ues in one day. Great trip!Beautiful scenery throughout the tour. Salt mines look like alien spacecraft and a fantastic tour to take, but be aware, a lot of steep steps, get your steps in. Fortress and Corvin Castle were stunning and fantastic that they are being preserved and available to us. Lovely to see different parts of Romania and Transylvania and a very comfortable, pleasant way to do it. Thank you isteban!Written 18 June 2024
- Vetgirl20040 contributionsRecommend 1000%There was a small hitch in that the day I had originally planned to do the tour (my schedule was tight and locked down a long time before) they had to cancel. But I was able to get a last minute evening bus and a hotel room in Cluj to be in town on time to do the tour the day before I planned, which Rolandia were able to accommodate. And I'm so glad I did! The tour was fantastic. Our guide Istvan was lovely, full of information. All the stops were fantastic, although the Salt Mine has a strange beauty about it and Corvin Castle is beyond stunning. Istvan suggested a wonderful place for lunch in Alba Iulia with beautiful surroundings, amazing food and at a brilliant price. Our tour group all went to dinner in the evening with Istvan and his girlfriend at a restaurant he suggested (also amazing food at an excellent price!) Beware the Palinca and Unicum!Written 2 June 2024

- Mahdi K0 contributionsHighly RecommendedVery good tour. You get to see some impressive sights and learn about local history. It's hard to pick a favorite, but for me it would probably be Alba Iulia, as you could see historical buildings from different eras of Romania in a single location. Our tour guide Robert was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, spoke great English and clearly has an interest in what he was presenting.Written 20 September 2023
- 639karan0 contributionsA fun tour with an excellent guide -- would recommend!!This was a fantastic tour and such a fun day! Our guide, Robert, was exceptional. He is very professional, highly informative, kind, and personable. The pace of the trip was great, we had plenty of time at each site and were given a little time to explore on our own. The sights were mesmerizing and well worth the visit. Overall, we had such a fun day and would highly recommend it!Written 27 August 2023
- Sophiehasell0 contributionsGreat full day outWe had the most amazing day yesterday seeing all the sites around CLuj. - Ann19430 contributionsA Unique ExperienceThis was an excellent tour. Robert, our guide, was very personable, with an extensive knowledge of Romanian history. The visit to the salt mine was a unique experience and I found it to be a very relaxed enjoyable day. I would highly recommend this tourWritten 16 July 2023
- Fraenulum0 contributionsA very enjoyable experience - thank you CatalinBooked this tour during a short stay in Cluj Napoca. The guide, Catalin, was personable, very knowledgeable, and spoke English as well as I do (and I am English!). 3 stops, each just the correct amount of time to gaze in wonder at the mine, take in the history of Corvin castle, and learn the significance of Alba citadel. Thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end, and would not hesitate to recommend it. I believe you have to have a level of fitness, ie able to walk up stairs etc, and possibly best enjoyed without children looking for a playpark. Thank you to the organisers. Neil.Written 6 July 2023
- Corina C0 contributionsCluj TourIt was a great experience to learn and see these amazing sites. Andrei was very knowledgeable and a fantastic tour guide. Bring your battery power bank for your smartphone because you will take so many beautiful pictures through out the day. We went on a Tuesday and it was not crowded. We enjoyed our day very much! Cluj-Napoca, Romania is very beautiful.Written 4 July 2023

- 276paddyj0 contributionsDefinitely worth doing.Amazing day trip! A long day trip from Cluj, but an extremely worthwhile endeavor. Three amazing places to visit - different but yet all remarkable in their own way. Definitely worth doing if you are looking for something to do for a day in and around Cluj. Robert was our tour guide and he was fantastic. Cannot praise him enough. Very knowledgeable tour guide and really enjoyed our random chats as we travelled between the locations.Written 15 May 2023

Our experience with Rolandia, from reservations with Adelina to completion of trip, was absolutely flawless! Everything during our four day tour of the Carpathian Mountains, its towns, castles and churches, was well thought out and executed by George, our guide and driver, with skill and care. I can't recommend Rolandia highly enough; excellent introduction to Romania at a reasonable cost.
