About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Phoenix2980 contributionsUrosWe were dropped off at a tourist trap and we felt very pressured to purchase a boat ride that wasn’t included in our booking. The tour guide did provide us with interesting information. We were hoping to get the opportunity to explore more.Written 23 April 2022
- sarahcQ8759EY0 contributionsAgréableA good experience to discover lake titikaka and the traditions of the locals. The boat journey was extremely nice!Written 22 April 2022
- mollybookner0 contributionsBeautiful Islands but Sketchy CompanyThe Uros islands themselves are super cool and the boat ride over there was beautiful. However, this tour was not what I expected. To start, it was just me and a guide who spoke barely any English. There were also some hidden costs. I knew it was 10 soles extra to ride in the traditional boat, but I didn’t realize it would cost me 10 soles to experience Taquille island. Also, my transport back was supposed to be included but they tried to charge me 10 soles for that as well, which I refused to pay. Overall, it’s a stunning boat ride and my guide was very nice, but this company was not transparent with me and I didn’t appreciate that.Written 17 August 2021
- GrahamP1130 contributionsPart of puno tourInvited to spend a little time with a group of Uros Idigenous people. It was an unbelievable experience how they live on the reeds is quire incredible. Brilliant tripWritten 3 March 2020
- A8246RXpaulj0 contributionsFantastic tour! This tour was fantastic. It was a beautiful sunny day, and I really enjoyed sitting up on the deck as the boat sped along. One precaution, wear lots of sunscreen. The sun’s rays are much more intense at high altitude. Anyway, the visit to Uros Island was fascinating. We learned a lot from the highly informative and humorous presentation on the life and culture of the floating island people. And the walk around Taquile Island was very pleasant, with breathtaking scenery and a great trout lunch. I highly recommend this tour.Written 2 March 2020
- tangqian20040 contributionsvery helpful guide and good experiencethe guide let someone pick me up from the hotel punctually. Though it was chilling but visiting the floating island is a good experience. At least I did feel the "floating". The guide speaks good english and overall introduced things clearly.Written 15 October 2019

- yongjin c0 contributionsUros and Taquile Island toursRecommended by a decent hostel called 'Real House Puno' They offered me a nice tour with a very good price. So I was very happy with that. So I had a nice and pleasant picnic day. The guide explained where we go, what they were. Good experience overall.Written 31 May 2018

My wife and I were visiting the Puno region because we wanted to see the highest navigable waterway in the world in Lake Titicaca and visiting Sillustani was just an activity that was added on to kill time before our flight out of Juliaca. Roger, the owner/tour guide made our visit to Sillustani a very special one. He is a passionate guy that truly cares about his country and its traditions. We had a private tour and had the entire site to ourselves. One of the perks of visiting during a pandemic. The site itself offers very picturesque views of the lake, island and valley below which is probably why the Colla and the Inca both chose it as a sacred place to bury their dead. We also saw wild flamingos, just outside of the village. Very cool to see. Roger and his business partner/driver, Basilio both followed all the COVID safety protocols. My wife and I felt very safe and well taken care of. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone that needs an excellent English speaking guide while visiting the Puno Region. Thanks Roger and Basilio.

We were picked up 20 minutes late by taxi. Then we’re taken to another van where the woman guide had I cross back & forth in street trying to find the van. She seemed frantic & confused. The van was almost full so my friend who’s 6’1 had to sit on a wobbly/broken flip down child size seat.
Once at Sillustani that tour guide was informative and organized.
Overall I wouldn’t recommend. We went a more expensive company because we wanted a comfortable day after being on a 6 day trek in Salkantay mountains. That did not happen.
Gave 3 rating only because the 2nd woman tour guide was good and the stop at local house was nice & educational. If it wasn’t for her I’d give it 0.
Picture is of our good guide :)

Dear Sherpa
A thousand apologies for the failures, it is no excuse, but your last minute reservation was a bit difficult for us to control, we learn a lot from those details, thank you very much for your comment.
Best regards
