Meet your guide at hotel pickup in Miri and drive approx. 18 miles (30 km) along the Miri-Bintulu Road to Lambir Hills National Park. Significant for its regional and global conservation due to an astounding level of plant diversity, the park also features plentiful wildlife such as bats, flying squirrels, monkeys, pangolins, gibbons and barking deer.
During this morning or afternoon tour, set out for a walk through a forest of tall dipterocarp trees such as kapur, meranti, kempas and selangan batu. A kerangas forest with smaller and shorter trees are also to be found among low flowering and fruiting shrub trees, pitcher plants and orchids. Your guide points out mushrooms, moss, lichen, climbing vines, ferns, gingers and palms.
