No sign at airport, no drinking water in vehicle, no assistance with luggage. Knowledgeable, safe, and friendly tour guide, just not as warm as I would have liked. Perhaps it's standard for Japanese culture, just not what I am used to for the very high cost of this tour. Asked several times to do sushi and still suggested ramen, finally went to sushi place. Expected more from tour.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Tony as my parents’ tour guide in Japan. My parents are older Chinese travelers, and this was their first time visiting the country. From the moment they met Tony, he made them feel at ease and incredibly welcome. Despite the language and cultural barriers, Tony’s warmth, patience, and genuine interest in my parents’ background helped them connect in a truly special way. Throughout the tour, he provided clear, engaging explanations of each site they visited, carefully adapting to my parents’ pace and making sure they were comfortable at every stop. Tony went above and beyond by incorporating little touches of Chinese phrases and cultural references—these gestures might seem small, but they meant the world to my parents and made them feel respected and appreciated. What really stood out was Tony’s willingness to tailor the tour based on their interests and mobility. He made smart recommendations for senior-friendly activities, took them to fantastic local eateries, and even helped them navigate some of the more crowded areas in a stress-free manner. My parents returned home full of wonderful stories, new knowledge, and an eagerness to explore more of Japan—something I never expected given it was their first international trip in quite some time.

We scheduled the tour for Mt Fuji from Tokyo and we were very pleased with the tour. The day that we visited Mt Fuji was a bit overcasted so we weren't able to see the mountain in full view, however we are seasoned travelers and realized that no one can control the weather conditions. Tony did an excellent job making sure that we saw alternate areas that were beautiful especially with the fall/autumn colors. Great tour overall.

We had a layover on Tokyo and we’re so grateful Tony was able to squeeze us in for a tour. He did his best to show us as much as possible in the short time we were there. We loved all the knowledge and history that he shared with us too. He even took us to one of his favorite lunch places and we had the best ramen ever. Thank you again Tony for taking such good care of us and accommodating our layover on such short notice.

I was not sure what to expect on my 1st visit to Tokyo but what an incredible place. I did the solo layover tour by private car. Tony and Travel Assist Japan made it an awesome experience. Planning was a breeze. Communication was excellent and prompt. All my questions were answered. Suggestions on activities and dining were given and my interests were integrated perfectly. Highly recommend! Will definitely use them again.

I had a 9 hr layover and chose the 6hr Haneda layover VIP tour and it worked out perfectly. Tony was so professional, prompt, and very welcoming. We did a lot more than I could have done on my own! With a short amount of time, it felt like a productive trip yet didn’t feel like we were rushed at all. This was definitely worth it!

Tony was an amazing guide, driver and photographer. If I can rate 5 more stars, I would. This is not our first time with Tony and his team. They provide superb and professional service before, during and after our tours. Will definitely use Tony and his company again for our future trips to Japan especially since all his tours are 100% customizable.

This was the best layover tour my family has ever had! Tony was awesome! We have a 8 and 4 year old so we opted for the the private car. (His BMW is NICE!) It was a better choice do to the fact we where coming back for our vacation and were tired. Tony took every consideration for us and made the tour easy. We felt like true VIPs. We just sat back and relaxed. When we got out to see the sights, Tony was right there to show and tell us about anything. It was really like having a good friend show you around his home town. We are absolutely looking for to coming back and doing another tour with Travel Assist Japan. 100% worth it!

First off. Amazing trip. The downside? we have to come back. So much more to see. The upside? I know who to call for my next trip. I would call upon Tony and Tracy in a heartbeat without hesitation. Having a local, knowledgeable guide is key and they delivered. Warning. It is VERY hot in July, perhaps choose a month with milder temperatures!

The ride from Tokyo was so comfortable! We stopped at many “off the beaten path” locations and views to see the beautiful Hakone region that we wouldn’t have seen or reached by bus or rail. The clouds were not kind to us and only had glimpses of Mt. Fuji, but we had many opportunities from different vantage points. Overall great experience and would recommend this trip with Tony.

We had the most amazing family vacation in Japan! The Travel Assist Japan (TAJ) team (Tony, Fumi, and Yoshiko) were so helpful all throughout from planning and personalizing tours. We arranged several tours in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Mt. Fuji, and they were all great! We were impressed with the level of organization, knowledge, flexibility, and authentic interest in ensuring we have the best experience possible during our trip and visit in Japan. We will certainly reach out to the TAJ team again!

The 8 hour we spent with Tony were the best. We saw so many sights. The fish market with lunch upstairs was a real treat. Learning about the difference between shrines & temples was informing.

I went on two tours with Travel Assist Japan. Both such different experiences but equally excellent. Day 1 with Fumi exploring everything Tokyo. I learnt so much and loved the day. The tea ceremony was a highlight. Fumi was so knowledgeable and kind. She has a great sense of humour too which made the day so fun. Day 2 I went with Tony to Nikko. From pick up to drop off the day was full of wow moments. Tony took us to many special places where tour buses can’t go. Often we had the place to ourselves which made it even more special. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Being customised you decide on what you want to do at a pace you’re comfortable with. I sum up how special these days were by saying Ichi-go ichi-e (一期一会). Thank you Fumi and Tony.
