Settle back for a scenic and comfortable ride through the Turkish countryside as you head to the hot-air balloon office, where you enjoy a light but satisfying breakfast of fruit, a sandwich, and hot and cold drinks. From there, move to the nearby launch field to watch your 100-foot-tall balloon fill with air. Board the basket and feel the balloon lift as the distance between you and the Earth increases. If you’ve opted for the shorter queen flight, there’ll be up to 20 travelers in your basket; if you’ve selected the longer king option, numbers will be capped at 12. Soon, you have a bird’s-eye view of the incredible lunar landscapes, volcanic spires, and multicolored “fairy chimneys” that make Cappadocia so special. As you rise to a height of up to 1,000 feet (300 meters), your pilot gives you information on the unique geological history of the region, which has been inhabited since ancient times. He makes the whole journey very fun and full of laugh. We were very lucky and satisfied to get Tolga as our pilot, he controlled the hot air balloon very well and make sure every passenger gets the best view for photo. The company also provide the 360 degree video view from beginning till the end. Can buy it from them after landing. We were floating the sky for almost 1 hour, watching the sunrise and enjoying the breathtaking view. Last but not least, we landed it safely with the help from Tolga’s team. When we arrived at the place, there was a buffet where everyone could have breakfast. They helped us get into the basket. There were 4 cells, each with 4 people, not counting the pilot. Separately, we can note the skill of the pilot and the coherence of the team. We took off smoothly and saw a stunning view: sunrise, mountains, endless fields. During the flight, the basket rotates so that everyone can see and photograph everything. And then the same soft landing. On the ground we were treated to chocolate covered strawberries and a choice of orange juice or champagne. They were also awarded "Lord Flight" medals, which was very unexpected and pleasant. After visiting the pools at Pamukkale, the ancient city of Ephesus, the Theodosian Walls and multiple 1500 year old Byzantine and Ottoman churches of Istanbul, our family's balloon flight with Royal Balloon Cappadocia was the ABSOLUTE HIGHLIGHT of our 2 week trip to Türkiye.
From our first request for information to our drop-off at our hotel afterwards, Royal Balloon conducted their business with the utmost organization and professionalism. We had scheduled balloon trips in past trips to Sedona Arizona and Prague, only to have them canceled by the operator for various questionable reasons. Over 100 balloon flights a day take off from Cappadocia, so a trip here is much more assured than many other locations, and the scenery is more spectacular than you can imagine. Getting to experience the beauty of the many fairy chimneys, Red and Rose valleys, Uchisar Castle along with the sunrise and a panorama including over a hundred other balloons is nothing short of a SPECTACULAR scene. The balloon we got was for 16 persons, and had a basket with 4 partitions. Each partition held 4 people lined up in a row, so everyone had a great view. The pilot rotated the balloon frequently so everyone had a chance to take enough photos to last a lifetime. The pilot, Tuĝrul, also used a long selfie stick to take pictures from both sides of the basket and loaded all the pictures onto a USB drive for 20 Euros. Tuĝrul, lowered our balloon in and out of the fairy chimneys and gave us a very smooth landing. Flight took an hour. After 4:20 am pickup from our hotel, Royal Balloon had a very nice breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt and pastries. We were were returned by 7 am following our landing ceremony that included a Christmas ornament-worthy medal, champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. We got a better deal and a smaller number of passengers per balloon by booking two months early. ( Price in August 2024 was $280 USD per person) Highly recommend this incredible experience !

Our hot air balloon ride was simply magical and one of the best things we’ve ever done. The views were incredible & the flight exceeded our expectations. Our pilot Serkan Kalenderoglu was absolutely brilliant & expertly navigated us around the beautiful Cappadocia landscape. Serkan guided our balloon through the valley at various heights & we got some amazing photos. We loved the champagne reception when we landed & the opportunity to buy a video of our flight as a souvenir. Our original flight was cancelled due to the weather & Royal Balloon were brilliant at getting us booked onto a replacement flight the next day. We got the second flight which left about 6.30am & we still got to see the sunrise but then had more time in daylight to see the Cappadocia landscape. Would definitely recommend Royal Balloons and this trip - it was worth every penny & we have amazing memories that will last a lifetime thanks to Royal Balloons & Serkan.

Our hot air balloon experience with Royal Balloon in Cappadocia was truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that we will cherish forever! It was a major highlight of our trip, made unforgettable by our skilled balloon pilot, Tugrul Guclu, and our friendly transfer driver, Mehmet.
Pilot Tugrul expertly navigated the balloon with professionalism, adding fun and humor to the experience with his engaging commentary. He pointed out various landmarks from above, giving us a breathtaking view and a deeper appreciation of the landscape. Our driver, Mehmet, was equally fantastic. He was punctual, super nice, and provided insightful information about every valley and nook we passed on the way to and from our hotel.
Here’s what to expect:
Pick-up and Check-in: Expect an early morning pickup, with the driver arriving right on time (they check/confirm the pickup time a night before). The team from the Royal Balloon Tour greets you, verifies your booking with your hotel and name, and guides you to your assigned table for breakfast.

Experiencing the hot air balloons in Cappadocia was on our lifetime bucket list and booking with Royal Balloon absolutely lived up to anticipation!
Everything was smooth, professional, and fun. From the pick up from the hotel, to the taxi to the balloon, the balloon ride itself, and the post-journey champagne. It’s worth noting that the the balloon itself was very spacious which justified the price (only 4 people per quadrant compared to 8, 10, 12 which we saw in other balloons).
Soyler and Ömer were fantastic operators. Clearly putting safety at the forefront while also taking a ton of pictures, videos, and giving great landmark call-outs.
If you’re considering hot air ballooning in Cappadocia, I would highly recommend Royal Balloon.

I came to Cappadocia a few years ago, but missed out on the balloons. This time I planned ahead and it did not disappoint. Royal Balloon notified me by email the day before that the flight was going ahead. It was an early start, but absolutely worth it. It's a door-to-door service. They picked us up at the hotel, took us to their central where we were offered a light breakfast and drinks, and then we were taken to the launch site. The excitement was building while we watched the balloon get inflated while the sun was slowing rising over the horizon. Then it was time to get in the basket and we were off! We gently lifted off the ground and slowly climbed while the views opened up around us with lots of other colourful balloons around us. There is something magical about being up in a hot air balloon. It feels like you are part of the balloon - you feel completely safe even though you are hundreds of meters in the air. You can just enjoy the experience and the views. The balloon was expertly piloted by Ahmet. He was happy to answer any questions and explained to us how the balloon is manoeuvred and showed his skill by taking us up into a valley at low altitude navigating between fairy chimneys and trees. He also filmed the whole flight on a 360 degree camera and we were able to preview and buy the photos and videos from them. At the end of the flight, he landed us safely and softly onto the back of one of their vehicles. Afterwards they served us sparkling wine and chocolate strawberries. Our package also included a complimentary baseball-style cap. Overall it was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

This was such an amazing experience and would recommend to anyone going to Cappadocia
If your thinking of doing it do it with royal ballon - I did my research on companies as such a mind field and so many to choose form but can honestly say they were so professional from the start and worth every penny.
We ended uo doing a flight just my husband and I on the first day (book the first day your there in case they can’t fly) and we had an brilliant experienced pilot called kaan - he made our flight.
We loved it so much we booked to take my mother in law and my 3 kids the next morning (6,9,12 are their ages) and they absolutely loved it and was so glad I let them experience it to. They could all see and the pilot Ahmet was amazing! He was so so experienced also and gave my kids a trip of a lifetime. Both pilots were skilled and went so low in valleys unlike other balloons

It seems there are more than 25 Balloon companies offering rides in Cappadocia and given that per person ride costs upwards of EUR 250, it can be a challenge to find a suitable one. Cheaper rides would generally have more people (around 28) in a basket, thus limiting the movement space and photo taking opportunities.
We are really glad that we chose Royal Balloon and it was a great experience from start to finish. We booked by filling out a form on Royal Balloon's site, and they were prompt in replying back. Though we chose a 'Queen' flight, we were upgraded to "Queen' Plus flight, which meant there were only 16 people in the basket.
We were picked up at 4 AM and taken to their offices, where breakfast was served. It was a decent spread, with good options and Coffee. After that a 10 minutes driver, we were taken to where Balloon was being inflated. This whole process was very well organized and professional.
Our pilot Tolga was simply Awsome ! He was very funny and kept us laughing all through the flight. Duration of flight was around an hour. At times, he turned the balloon around so that everyone can get a good view. We went over the valleys and got to see the beautiful landscape and more importantly, the sky filled with balloons. The view as pretty mesmerizing. Landing was very nice and we landed right on to trailer. This was followed by a short ceremony where medals and champagne handed out.
It was a really great experience with Tolga and Royal Balloon and we would wholeheartedly recommend them

Memorable experience. Everything worked perfectly, from the pick-up at the hotel at 4 in the morning, to the breakfast in a nice room reserved for the company, to the preparation of the hot air balloon, to the flight, which lasted over an hour and arrived above 600 meters above sea level. The pilot, Umit, was very good and made us fly in maximum safety, allowing us to enjoy this experience we had been waiting for for years, as if it were a walk in the park. Trouble-free landing, champagne to celebrate, and return to the hotel. I would like to recommend this company, Royal Balloon, with which we made the reservation in January, for two flights four days apart, to avoid perhaps losing this opportunity due to the unfavorable weather. The second booking was canceled without problems by me, via email, and in about ten days I will have the payment returned. Serious and correct people, excellent communication. Thanks Adem.

A balloon ride had been on my list for a long time and finally it was time. The experience itself is unique, but doing it all in Cappadocia's unique landscape is just magical.
It's all super organized. You are picked up early in the morning on time and before the start there is still breakfast. Afterwards you drive to the balloons and to see these giants lying there is impressive. It's still dark and when they're fired, they light up and then they slowly straighten up. That alone is beautiful. The journey itself took about an hour. Our pilot Abdullah kept changing the altitude, so you could sink into the beautiful valleys, but also enjoy the view from 650 meters above sea level. We saw a fox, rabbits, an eagle's nest. But that was only minor, because the real star is the landscape. It's really breathtaking. Ride and landing were very smooth, without jerking. Impressive was how Abdullah parked the balloon on a car trailer! Finally, there was champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries and a medal.
There are two start times. I clearly recommend the earlier one, because then you experience the sunrise from the balloon.
We also bought the CD with photos and videos. I think it's worth it because the resolution of the recordings is just great.

I'm extremely grateful to Royal Balloon for getting back to us with last-minute availability on a 16-passenger balloon. Due to work obligations and unexpected circumstances, I wasn't able to book a hot air balloon flight in advance of our trip. I soon found out that balloon flights were sold out everywhere because October is peak season in Cappadocia. We were in Cappadocia for 4 days, 3 nights only, which also limited our window for a flight. To make matters worse, balloon flights had been cancelled due to weather for the last 2 days leading up to our arrival, which meant people were clamoring to get on the next available flights. I had been checking day after day with Royal Balloon, other balloon companies, and even "black market sellers" for any availability, and early on Oct 3 I received a reply from Royal Balloon saying they had availability for 2! And what's even better is it's for a 16-passenger balloon, which is better than what we were expecting. The night before, I was ready to accept that we will miss going on a hot air balloon ride on this bucket list trip, but Royal Balloon saved the day!
The experience itself was amazing and unforgettable. The whole operation from beginning to end was organized well, light breakfast was provided, transportation to and from the take-off area was comfortable, the entire staff was great - it seemed like they really cared to give us the best experience.
Our pilot, Tolga Eke, was the best! It was obvious he was extremely experienced, he shared a lot of interesting information, was very funny and entertaining, and made sure to interact with everyone. We felt super safe the entire time. The flight exceeded our expectations - it didn't feel like it was shortened in any way and we went high up (unlike with other companies where I read reviews complaining about not getting the promised flight time or the balloon staying low). Landing was very smooth and the team on the ground provided excellent support. The ceremony after the flight was really fun and well put-together - it didn't feel like an afterthought. Insta360 videos were available to purchase and they were sent promptly.
My husband and I plan to visit Cappadocia again someday. And when we do, we will surely book with Royal Balloon again and ask to be on Tolga's flight!

Hello. What time does this tour end in October, as we booked the Green Tour and pick up is at 9:30am. We stay at Divan Cave Hotel so just want to make sure we can do both.

Yes it’s that long because you have a light breakfast and bathroom time first and then go to the site and spend a little time recuperating and celebrating after touch down and exiting the basket. Don’t rush it. Savour the experience

This is a non refundable ticket, however what happens if the trip is cancelled due to bad weather and we are unable to the ride, will we then get a full refund? We are visiting in For 2 nights in early October.

Is it very crowded on a queen flight when there are 20 passengers or there is still enough room for everyone to stand around the basket and take pictures

There were many different balloon sizes. We were in one that had two pilots and 16 guests. It was very comfortable and with the skilled pilot, we felt as though we saw every formation from many different angles. We were even seemingly dancing playfully with other balloons. We all were able to get great photos. Nobody was stuck in a position without a view.
