Marangu Route 5 Days – Marangu Route is also known as the “Coca Cola” or “tourist” route. It is the easiest and shortest route to the summit. This is also the only route with the comforts of sleeping huts at every campsite with solar lights and comfortable beds. The huts are communal, and the bunks have a sponge mattress and pillow. This route is usually done in 5 days but can be done in 6 days for better acclimatization. The extra day can be spent resting at Horombo or climbing the small peak of Mawenzi.

Serengeti & Crater 4 day tour
Our trip with mountain warriors was very special. We did a 3 night, 4 day, Serengeti & crater tour. The accommodation options that MW chose for us were exceptional. Especially Signature Serengeti Tented Camp and Safari Haven Tented Camp. The staff at both of these places went above and beyond for us and made our stay so special. At Signature Serengeti they even did a song and a dance and made us a cake for celebrate our honeymoon. The staff in the office that answered all of my questions prior to the trip were really helpful. Something worth mentioning is that you don’t get told about fee’s that will come with making your booking. We got stung with $250 worth of fees to pay for the tour on our card. We also were told that we are expected to pay a minimum of $25 per day to the guide, so make sure you take plenty of cash with you. As the staff at the accommodations are really deserving of some extra tips as well. Some more options for drinks that are provided by MW would have been nice, during our trip there was only Coka cola and red wine as soft drink and wine options. Some variety would have been nice. There is a lot of driving involved, so be prepared for that. And make sure to take extra snacks for the long days in the car. We got to experiment so many excellent animal sightings. Our guide Simon was very nice.

          Great experience in Ngorongoro
We had a great time on a one-day safari to Ngorongoro. Loveness organised everything well and was easy to communicate with. Our guide and driver Innocent was knowledgeable, service-minded and experienced, giving us a memorable day in the park. Everything went smoothly and was very good value for money. Highly recommended.

          fantastic view of Mt Kilimanjaro
This time, I chose this plan not for a serious climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, but to experience the atmosphere of the mountain. As a result, I was very happy to be able to experience the unique atmosphere of Mount Kilimanjaro, the most famous mountain in Africa! Our hiking guide, Joel, was very kind and knowledgeable, and he shared a lot of information about the mountain and Tanzania. Moreover, he always kept the mood lively, which made the hike very enjoyable! Thank you so much. One day, I would like to train in my home country and climb Mount Kilimanjaro to reach the summit!

Honeymoon of a lifetime - Thank you Simon and Mountain Warriors!
We have just arrived home from the honeymoon of a lifetime with Mountain Warriors. From the beginning Loveness was very helpful and proactive in defining the schedule and selecting the best accommodation for our budget. This is what made us choose Mountain Warriors over other suppliers. The transfers to/from the airport were also seamless. We started our safari off with a high, when Simon came to collect us they had personalised the vehicle with honeymoon signs which is such a lovely thoughtful touch we never expected! The Safari with Simon was everything we could have dreamed of. We did 4 days, 3 nights passing through Tanguiere, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. We saw the big 5 and loads of others amazing animals we didn’t expect. Simon really spotted out the animals and tried to make sure we saw everything we could. He was so knowledgeable about the animals, Tanzania and local culture, we loved learning from him. It was chilled and felt like exploring with a friend! We enjoyed all the lunches, and they took the care to inform all the accommodation of our dietaries. They even told them it was our honeymoon so we had celebrations each night too which was special. We stayed at Suricata Boma Lodge, Signature Serengeti Luxury Camp and Lions Paw. All amazing in their own areas. One thing to note is that a lot of the accommodations separate guests from Safari guides which we didn’t like as much, we enjoyed the places that looked after the guides too! Something to consider when booking accommodation. The days are long in the Jeep but you don’t notice between the talking, spotting animals and taking in the scenery. Some truly magical moments we’ll cherish forever. Thank you Mountain Warriors and we’d love to come back another day in the future. P.s. ask for Simon if you are going to book!!

          4 day safari
The pros: Overall safari was a great experience. We were able to see many animals throughout the serengeti, ngorogoro crater, and tarangire national park. The accommodation booked was also fantastic and of high quality. Rehema was always quick to respond to any questions we had on whatsapp and was very responsive. Improvements: Some of the planning leading up to the safari could have been better. We had a hiccup with our accommodation bookings (which the company ultimately helped us resolve). We ended up staying at different places than originally planned but they were just as nice, if not better. Briefing and timing of briefing meeting was also a bit confusing leading up to our departure. Nothing major but a few small things to improve. Thanks for a great time!

Awesome safari with Mountain warriors, Mbwana and Pasco
We had a 5 days/ 4 nights budget safari tour with mountain warriors and it was wonderful (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Manyara). The communication with Rosemary and the whole team was very easy, we got an fast answer to every question we had and she planned the tour just like we wanted it. On safari, we had a awesome time. Our guide Mbwana was great, he had so much information for us, drove very savely and was eager to show us everything and all the animals there are. He didn’t hesitate to go the extra mile so we wouldn’t miss anything. Also our chef, Pasco, did a wonderful job, the food was always delicious, freshly made and had quite a variation. The campsites were very basic, but dinner by Pasco definitely made up for it. We‘d always come back and definitely recommend mountain warriors for your safari experience.

          Great Time, 4,5/5
We had a great time of safari. 2 days serengeti, 1 day ngorongoro crater and 1 day tarangire. Our Safari Guide Mbwana was so great, he give us all information in very fine englisch and also drive good, seeing all animals!! See rhino, leopard, gepard all that are difficult. Sure lion, giraffe, elefant, zebra, buffallo and so on. Also the cook pasco makes great food. It was good organized, only some changes of the route and accomondation which were okay for us. In review i only give you the tipp to go one more day serengeti instead of tarangire. Hakuna Matata!

          4 Day Safari
4 day/3 night safari booked with Mountain Warriors. I chose this company as the initial quote and conversations with Rehema were very professional and any questions I had were answered instantly. They provided the itinerary for exactly what we were after. We stayed in Zanzibar the week before Safari and back again after the Safari. All transport to and from the airport was exceptional and very professional. Flights were all booked to and from Zanzibar for us with only one issue for our flight back to Zanzibar but with no fault from Mountain Warriors. The airline (Flight Link) had obviously over subscribed the flight and changed our booking to fly from a different airport. This would have been no problem if they had informed Mountain Warriors beforehand about this but they hadn’t. We arrived at the airport luckily in plenty of time only to be told our booking at had been moved to a different airport. I contacted Rehema via whatsapp to ask for help where she instantly jumped into action and spoke with the airline on our behalf. During this the owner of Mountain Warriors met us at the airport to resolve the issue. He got us on to another flight that was leaving at the same time as our original flight and from the same airport. This level of customer service is unheard of in the UK and is a massive credit to such a professional customer focussed company. Accommodation whilst on Safari both at the Mountain View lodge and the Into Wild Africa Serengeti park glamping site was out of this world we couldn’t have experienced better service or level of comfort from these two sites both offering a level of luxury not expected whilst on safari let alone anywhere else. The safari itself was out of this world where we were lucky enough to see the big 5 in one morning. Our guide Innocent was exceptional in finding what we wanted to see and got there promptly and safely. He was very knowledgeable and a very nice person to be with. Lunch whilst on safari was not what we expected at all. Every day was fresh hot lunches of rice, potato’s, vegetables, curry’s, stir fry’s, fruit, hot drinks, cold drinks put it this way we didn’t go hungry. My only negative would be regarding tipping. We did plenty of research regarding this both via the internet and our travel agent who had been on a safari previously. The general consensus was that $20-25 per day per couple was appropriate for the guide. We received a message from Rehema the day before our Safari stating that the “minimum” tip should be $30 per person per day. This took us by surprise and obviously had not accounted for this before we travelled to Zanzibar the week before and for a trip costing a large sum ($3800) was disproportionate especially with the advice we had received from other people and research carried out. If such a large tip is the norm this should be built in to the cost of the trip or informed on booking. We tipped our guide with what we thought was appropriate. Just a small negative for such a great trip we had and at the end of the day it’s up to the individual to tip what they feel is appropriate Great company would highly recommend.

          Once in a lifetime!
Mbwana was our tour guide and he did a wonderful job! He was kind and knowledgeable; truly the best guide! We went on a group trip and he did the best to make everyone feel special and comfortable. They provided food, water, and the luxury camps were beautiful! I would recommend booking with Mountain Warriors and if possible asking for Mbwana as your guide. My tip: ask all your questions before the trip begins as the company is ready to answer them. My mom and I will forever cherish this trip 🤍

          Incredible experience
Mountain Warriors were great from start to finish. Loveness was so helpful in planning our trip and was always so quick to respond to any questions we had - alway sharing updated information on our accommodation and transport. The accommodation was just the perfect balance of feeling amongst the wild and home comforts and the food was amazing in every stay. As for the safari itself, absolutely incredible! Words cannot do it justice. We have memories to last a lifetime. Our guide, Mbwena, was so knowledgeable and friendly and looked after us very well. He had many years of experience and found the best spots to see the animals and for us to have lunch. We saw all of the big 5 thanks to his great tracking skills, and got up close with elephants, cheetahs, lions and a leopard plus so so much more. We met many of the mountain warriors team whilst on safari too and they all seem as lovely as the next. If you decide to go with Mountain Warriors you won't be disappointed!

The Guide is the most important
Ask for Jeff! He is the best and professional man I ever met. We felt cared and listened, which is highly appreciated and important in such trips, where you need someone to reassure you that you are safe and sound.

The wildlife was great, the organization of the safari really bad
My husband and I booked a custom tour for 6 days. In the beginning, the communication seemed very professional and quick, that's why we decided to book with them. After having paid the down payment (where you have to add a 7 % fee for paying online that noone tells you about in advance), the tour operator told us that all lodges and camps we chose were not available anymore. In the past I've been used to knowing that the accommodations are reserved for the time being. So this was the very first bad encounter. It took quite a while until we figured out other satisfactory camps and lodges. We were told that we pay the remaining amount at the location, either in cash or by card (it would have been nice to know about the fees here in advance). They said that they would meet us in the hotel the night before the safari starts to go through all details and make the payment. They were over an hour late that we just spent sitting in the hotel lobby, texting them without getting a reply or a "sorry" that they are late - honestly, kind of a waste of time. Also, the meeting was not helpful. First of all, the woman just read out loud what was already in the overview of our booking and then asked us to pay. She told us that she only brought the card machine where we have to pay 4 % in fees, but she has another card machine with only 2 % in fees. If we would want to use that, we would have to drop by the office before heading to the safari the next day - of course we'd rather spent ~100 instead of ~200 dollars in fees, but it was annoying to again lose time. Also, she mentioned that the tour guide expects a cash tip of minimum $60 per couple per day - in the quotes it always said 10$ p.p. and that's how we planned our cash and it's not that you can withdraw cash anywhere while being on safari. Other tour operators told us it's 10$pp per day. But we started worrying not having enough cash for the tip because of all of a sudden it was supposed to be triple. Other stuff that is notable to know what expect: - The tour was very badly planned. One time we would drive 2,5 hours in one direction to reach our lodge, just to get up at 5am to drive back those 2,5 hours in the morning to be in the right park and in the afternoon head to the direction of the lodge again - felt like a total waste of time - The tour operator told us to book the flight back after the safari from Kilimanjaro airport but planned our tour so that we would be dropped off at Arusha. Luckily we noticed that and after long back and forth we were happy that they offered another driver to bring us to the right airport on time. - The pictures of the picnics in the quotes look quite romantic and nice, the reality is that you eat at set picnic spots with tons of other people and sometimes have to wait for a table to free up. It's not bad, but you expect something different. - In the quote it says that non-alcoholic drinks are included, but this is only during the day and not at the lodges or camps, where only the food is included. It doesn't matter that much, but it's nice to know that before. - The transfer times in our quote seemed to be very off and we spent hours just driving from A to B. - The guide (Simon) was very nice and knew his stuff. It's great to have a nice guide because you basically spend 24/7 together. ;) - After the safari I got a notification from my bank saying that the vendor rejected the payment for the safari. I sent them an email right away and never got a reply. 2 months later, all of a sudden the money was withdrawn from my account which was really annoying because it's an account I don't use much and only set up for travels so I didn't have any money on it and with that transaction I had to pay fees to go into minus a couple of thousand Euros. Honestly, we spent a lot of time not feeling great because of multiple small things (mainly about the organization) of this tour. I would not book with Mountian Warriors again.

Easily the most challenging and rewarding thing I've ever done and probably ever will do. From start to finish the team supported us with everything from carrying our heavy luggage up the mountain and preparing all our meals to patting our hands and feet to promote good circulation and singing to us on summit night. The attention to detail concerning our health was excellent and gave me the confidence to (in spite of my asthma) push my limits and succeed on this hike. We made life-long friends, and will return to beautiful Tanzania one day soon. Would absolutely recommend this trip (it was a pre-weddig honeymoon for my husband and I and we wouldn't change our choice of activity/destination) and your chances are far greater with this team around you!!

Incredible experience! - Gasto and his team are simply amazing. Having climbed Kili 250 times, Gasto is a Kili expert and will ensure that you are well looked after on the mountain, and that you have a good laugh whilst conquering Africa's highest peak. Great food and great company for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!

A trip of a lifetime! Gasto and his crew were wonderful and ensured our safety and summit to Kilimanjaro. We learned about his culture and the surrounding areas of Kilimanjaro. Each meal was prepared fresh and served hot. Our group did not worry for anything, as all our needs were met and tended to each day. Gasto explained the flora and fauna as we trekked up the mountain - demonstrating their cultural respect of the land and mountain. The huts were very comfortable, the beds cozy, and they even had pillows! Be prepared to experience some of the most breathtaking views, beautiful people, and summiting the highest peak in Africa - Kilimanjaro. It's wicked cold - bring warm jackets! Highly recommend Gasto and his crew - would go back again and again!

My girlfriend and I recently used Mountain warriors for both our Kilimanjaro climb and 5 days of safari and they were absolutely brilliant. The team we had with us when attempting to summit Kilimanjaro were fantastic, in particular our two guides; Sam and Chewy. They helped us every step of the way and were the main reason we summated successfully, nothing was too much for them and their sense of humour/ positive attitude kept us going throughout the hike! The rest of the team were great as well, the porter and chef (Obama) so massive shout out to them all! The organisation of the safari was excellent, we saw all of the big 5 and made memories we won’t forget. A special mention to our organiser Gasto, who put everything together for us and even bought us some lunch on our last day at the airport as we had had to skip our lunch to make a flight to Zanzibar! We would definitely recommend using Mountain Warriors and would use them again!

I have already booked several trips through Mountain Warriors with Gasto as a guide. In January 2023 I climbed Kilimanjaro with my sisters and my father.
In addition to excellent organization and royal meals, I was able to learn a lot about the beautiful landscape up to the summit. The feeling of standing on the summit is indescribable and incomparably fantastic. Gasto is an incredibly experienced guide with years of experience in the mountains. I felt extremely safe at all times, despite problems at high altitude. The care with every step to the summit, the always good mood as well as the mental strength and passion of Gasto and his team, which infected the whole group, impressed me incredibly and still does. Simply unforgettable! I would highly recommend Gasto and his team to everyone.
