Hudson River Sightseeing Cruise from Albany

Overview
Cruise the mighty Hudson River aboard the ‘Dutch Apple II’ on this 90-minute Albany, N.Y., sightseeing tour. Listen closely as a Hudson River expert talks about the history of the region and the river, including the evolution of industries. Explore the boat itself, crafted from the popular Hudson River Dayliners of yesteryear, and enjoy the view outside as barges, freighters and tugboats pass by. Bring a camera and/or binoculars to capture the eagles and other wildlife that occupy the region. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase.
What to Expect
The Dutch Apple II, a 65-foot boat, is derived from popular Hudson River Dayliners which used to ferry people from New York City to Albany. Today it is used for comfortable 90-minute cruises to show off the splendid nature and landscape around the Hudson River.

Hop on the Dutch Apple II to begin the 90-minute cruise on the Hudson River. The guide, a Hudson River historian, regales you with interesting tales of Albany’s past and discusses the historic homes that line the riverbanks. Keep your eyes open and your binoculars out to spot eagles and other wildlife.

At Van Weis Point, the boat makes a slow U-turn and heads back to Albany, as the guide continues to share the history of the area. Sit back on a comfortable seat, perhaps enjoying a drink or refreshment from the cash bar.

There is loads of seating, both inside and out, on three different decks. We appreciated the general interest narration for the first half of the trip. We went on a weekday when there was a lot of activity around the Port of Albany that was...More

Sightseeing tour that is not overly crowded!

My family and I love you travel and take tours when we get to a new area. One of the worst things on many tours is how overcrowded they can be. The tour we took on the Hudson with Dutch Apple Cruises was full but...More

Lovely Trip

A lovely trip to spend an hour and a half. The crew was very knowledgeable, and the ship was very pleasant. It was a little disappointing at how short the trip was.
