We had an excellent experience with EM Adventure on the 3 day/2 night trek from Sembalun to Torean. On arrival at Lombok Airport they picked us up and transported us to Sembalun where we spent the night in clean and comfortable acocmodation owned by some of Em's family. The following day we met our wonderful guide Opi and the two porters who would accompany us on the trek. Of the trek itself, the first day was easiest up to the rim where we camped for the night. The night hike to the summit at 2am was challenging, cold and dusty - take warm clothes a torch and a mask. Wet wipes also recommended for cleaning off dust afterwards. But the views from the mountain at sunrise were spectacular, the landscape is utterly unique. On the second day we descended to the lake and hot springs where we stayed the night. The paths down are steep and not in great condition with slippy/loose earth, so be prepared for some challenging descents/climbs. On the third day we trekked through the valley and jungle toward Torean, taking in beautiful waterfalls and quiet hills as we went. There were fewer other people trekking at this point, which was a nice contrast to the busy summit. Again, parts of this involved steep descents/climbs on loose paths as well as the use of ropes and ladders so it's not for the faint of heart - but Opi provided excellent guidance to proceed steadily and safely. The meals, fruit, snacks and drinks provided throughout were excellent and kept our energy up! The tents/sleeping bags etc. were also of excellent quality, comfortable and warm. Em's team provide a toilet tent and also take all trash off the mountain with them - which is great as you can see some companies sadly do not do this. EM Adventure, Opi and our porters provided a fantastic service from start to finish and we can't recommend them enough.

I was able to descend safely because of the timely recommendations made by our guide Pam. His team of porters worked close and his equipment looks clean and well maintained. The campsites seem to be picked strategically for the views/ function (hotspring/ access to summit) and not out of convenience.

We went on a flexible 4 day 3 night private tour. Everything was well planned, food was good. We liked the flexibility of the private tour, to decide when and where to camp. Also, the accommodation for the initial night at Sembalun was really nice (homely feel) - so much so that we decided to extend for two nights after the trek. Em Adventure take care to bring bck garbage which is very important.

The best overnight hike experience in my life ! Em adventure arrange everything for us with affordable price, this includes best guide, best porters, delicious food, two night accommodation at hotel and tent, transportation from Lombok airport and to Bangsal jetty. Camp at Senaru feels like at home with them, they will prepare everything and you just need to hike to the top. We are all beautiful girls and we feel safe with them 😆🤣. Ten ⭐️s

The3rd day if you reach Torean early before 3pm the head guide promise us to bring us to waterfall at another trekking route. So we the fastest group rush and use around 5-6hr from lake to Torean(start at 6am and reach Torean before 12am) while he reach the Torean around 1 or 2pmThis guide when he reach the Torean he din't bring us anywhere and say "wait for EM or i don't know" (eventhough i see our driver waiting for us at the base for quite some time, yes and we even seen the prayer groups start trekking from here for many hrs before the guide reach Torea)​ he is already faster than porter so is it ok? - 2nd guide ?? - 3rd guide suma?? - the one who need the head guide to order before doing anything. Eventhough​ that decision is better for the tourist(when we nearly reach the base on the 3rd day, there are ajak that many ppl had used already and ok to pay extra but he refuse our trekkers to go to the base and wait for the last group( maybe wait for mr.em? )​ 4th guide is Em. He is the planner and the leader of this group and who is decide what to do. If he is in trouble or late in any mean the guide is crumble! When you ask other guide a bit harder than yes or no you may got no answer or 'you need to ask Em.'​ The last trekking to the the base is quite troublesome. Trekking 1st day i don't know the process but we need to wait for the lead-guide and the people to completely full to start at ringani gate at nearly 10 a.m. that is quite hash for the slowergroup, light is a bit strong, this day we show them already that there are some(around4-5ppl) who can trekking faster than their best guide. This day we eat dinner at nearly 8pm. Because the food were made new at the camp. 2nd day we go to the summit this time the yuu has gone with us to bring the sign when our grup reach the summit that is good already(this mt. is not for the unprepare one with 4km that you need 4hr+for me to reach the sumit)​. But when we go the lake i don't know why but he give us to follow porter to the lake that make me curious what happen. (for this day many ppl of my group is too tired to go to the planing point for resting, so the guide decide to rest at the lake, i din't know that is good or bad for the last day.) this day we eat lunch at nearly 2pm because we need to wait for the food to cook and the dinner nearly 7pm with a dark sky. 3rd day this day is quite hectic, many of my group is too tired and the track to Torean is a bit horrific(the slowest use around 13hr-there are injury from trekking so a bit slow, while the fastest is around 5hr)​ i reach the base and wait for around 8hr for the guide to start anyting- i ate nearly everthing around this small town, i think some eat everthing already. noodle is the best to fulfill your stomach and taste but the rice is horific, the memories of camp site reappear-it's taste is maybe ok but when you reach the end you may not need to recognition​ of the hard time that you need to fill your stomach for 3d. The guide that should bring us, the fast group to the waterfall say' i don't know,' or '​wait for EM' or any promised that can'​t be fulfill, such as 'the car will bring you down in15min'​ but actually you need head guide to let anything to start that is quite troublesome. The result is i have to wait there more than my time treking down the moutain(rest 8hr and trek 5hr). At least the head guide, Em know the problem and apologised us and give us one free dinner meal around nearly 21.00pm, quite too late, but not bad for the things i feel before. When we reach hotel around 22.00pm we have a small alcohol party with our friend, and sum up some of this problem. BTW all 3day there are a little or no communication available so it's about each guide decision

We did the 3 day, 2 night trek. Smooth communication before trip, with national park tickets purchased and sent to us months in advance. Pickup from airport was perfect, first night accomodation luxurious and the then the trek. It is not a easy trek with steep climbs on scree, with significant drops at time. Our guide was patient, and the porters setup camp and cooked great food at every stop. I would definitely recommend Em adventures!

I choose to do my 2 day 1 night Summit trek with Em Adventures because of their high score on TripAdvisor & I wasn’t disappointed. From start to finish everything was perfect. The hotel accommodation for the night before the trek managed by Em’s sister in Sembalun is very new & extremely comfortable with an awesome breakfast included. You can also get other meals here. Em’s sister is a great cook. My guide Aldi, & our 2 porters were very professional & looked after us very well. The meals were all freshly prepared & delicious. Lots of fruits, snacks & drinks also included. All the trekking gear (tent, sleeping bags etc) are very good quality & in new condition. I would definitely recommend booking your trek with these guys.

Awesome experience with Em Adventure! Our porter Budi was very fast and set everything up nicely for us at every campsite. His cooking was also pretty good. My favourite was the curry he made the night before the summit push. Our guide Ardi was also really nice. He is not the most talkative (which is not a bad thing!) and was always there to help us if we needed anything. I had some good times talking to him and i felt comfortable confiding in him. Thanks for the wonderful experience, and I wish Budi and Ardi all the very best.

The most amazing sunset I have ever seen. The views from Rinjani were amazing. I went with Em who is very helpful and experienced. Having worked his way up from a porter to guide to running his own business, he is very knowledgeable and runs a tight ship. When there I saw how his company offers the same services as others. You also have an insight into where your money goes as it is a local company, ensuring porters are looked after. So much tasty food, you won’t go hungry. First time tasting fried bananas and they were 🤤 If you aren’t a big eater and as there is so much food it might be an idea if you suggested bringing less to reduce porters weight and in return maybe they could help bring some litter down. I had booked the 2 days as I heard there was a lot of litter by the lake and therefore I skipped it. However, I regretted it and wished that I had an extra day. The natural beauty of the area and the way the fog rolls in surpassed my expectations and masked what us humans do. The package was a great deal providing accommodation the night before and airport transfers. All equipment; tents, mats and pillows were of good quality and cleaned after each use. Em even helps organise other activities such as boat from the dock. I had also wanted to do Anak Dara after seeing footage of it, but as Rinjani was harder than I expected I was going to leave it. However, Em highly recommended that I did it and so I did. So happy that I did, 360 views of Sembalun village below. Definitely in my top experiences of a month in Indonesia.

Everything was very well organised since the beginning to the end. A driver waited for me at the bengsal harbour and drive me to a very nice place very confortable and very quiet. I could even order food wich was sooo tasty. The next day we start with breakfast and I met the small group (perfect compare to big groups) I was about to do the hike with. We got a lot a food very often, the tent on top was waiting for us with confortable mattess and sleeping bag. I definitely recommend it specially because they were all lovely and they take care a lot about us. Thanks so much guys !!! You are doing a great job !

We did the three-days-tour from Sembalun to Torean with Em-Adventures last week and are happy we decided to take this tour out of the multitude of options. Em, a local from Sembalun, was quick and helpful with all our questions and needs. The pick-up to Sembalun (and later drop-off) worked perfectly and the Hotel he had organized for the night before the adventure was the first pleasant surprise: with authentic local food and stunning views over rice fields and the top of Rinjani. The tour itself was hard but definitely worth it. While the way from Sembalun to the rim camp and to the top the next morning was interesting as ‘a pilgrimage-experience’ with many other tourists fighting their way up, the way down to the lesser-known village of Torean was characterized by Jurassic-Park-type panoramas, meeting mostly local people along the way. As a group, we felt like our guide and porters offered everyone individually the right amount of support and freedom to explore. The food was not only enough to fuel us on the hard track but tasty as well. Terimah kasih banyak to Em and his team.

We did 3D2N Sembalung - Senaru and I can fully recommend EM Adventure. Pick up in Kuta Lombok, stay in Sembalung, drop off at Bangsal harbour. Perfect organisation, the guide very attentive and nice (thank you Pam), two porters were excellent cookers that allowed us to taste local cuisine. By the way, don’t buy anything to eat, the portions were huge :-) We got more than we even expected, beautiful sunsets, sunrises, comfortable tent, introduction to the fauna and flora of Lombok and unforgettable moments. Thank you to the whole team !

I can't highly recommend enough about my experience trekking with EM Adventures. The owner and operator, EM was extremely helpful, fantastic, ensuring that we were comfortable and safe. Along with EM (The owner and our guide) the porters team Especially Neng lala was superb. EM’s team was friendly and knowledgeable. Our trekking guide was flexible about how far to go and where exactly to stay during the trek. The guide, EM became a companion not just someone we hired. To start our hike up Mt Rinjani, pick up was from Tetebatu by M the owner of EM Adventure: an enthusiastic, honest and very professional Sembalun local. Having been a guide for many years, he works well to coordinate a good team of guides and porters. His communication leading up to the trek was excellent, answering all my questions. Our guide Sahmad is an asset to EM Adventure, also with very good English and general knowledge of the mountain. Safety was first, followed by our enjoyment of the whole experience including helping the porters where needed. The porters did a sterling job with the carrying up of all food and camping gear. The food they prepared was superb and plenty thereof. M also took us to our next accommodation as well as enabling us to walk to the two waterfalls in Senaru on route. I highly recommend Em Adventure for your Mount Rinjani trekking experience in Lombok.
