This was an absolute scam. To start off with, the gear was trash, everything was broken, they eyelets on the rod were held on by the line rather than the actual pole. The reels were all broken and not even close to smooth and the tackle was rusty. We trawled for close to two hours without a single bite, no surprises because the lure was covered in rusty hooks. We then went reef fishing which was a joke. They target the smallest fish in the ocean, nothing over 10cm. Definitely not what I call a fishing charter. Considering the price ($850 AUD for two people), this is the definition of a scam. SAVE YOUR MONEY, DONT BOOK THIS

TripAdvisor clearly doesn’t do any background checks. I paid over 800 Australian dollars for this so called coral reef fishing trip. We were taken about 500 meters off shore directly out from the company’s base and anchored. First fishing rod I was giving broke first cast. We caught 2 little fish and nothing else. The captain did not offer to move to another spot. I will never book anything with TripAdvisor again. Thanks TripAdvisor 🤬

From the get go it was bad. Clearly the company is focused on water sports mostly, which we did not try. The fishing boat pictured was not the one we went on. Instead it was a transport boat, not set up for fishing. There were 2 old rods brought on the trip. The captain and his assistant barely spoke to us. The lures were put in and we trawled. 4 hours, no change of location, technique or lures without a single bite the whole trip. There was no sounder/fish finder or navigation unit. The gentlemen did not appear to be avid fisherman. For the price paid it was incredibly disappointing. I have fished many charters an I know catching fish is not a given, but this is the worst one I have ever done.

I wrote a review a few weeks ago but it must have been hidden. I’m trying again. We had a good week with friends. There are several things I could say about TB good and bad but I’d like to WARN you about renting any equipment from Turtle Island Adventures. They rent equipment for water sports at the resort. We found them to be terribly dishonest. We signed the standard rental agreement. A wave runner hit a wave and stopped working, partially submerged and had to be pulled back to the resort. The guide said we did nothing wrong. Obviously, it had some previous damage we knew nothing about. We rented it in good faith because you think you are renting equipment that is in excellent condition. Did it have a crack similar to a hairline fracture? Wave runners are for waves! After our rental was complete and without our knowledge, the management wrote in “$5000.00” twice on our contract. This was not there upon rental or we would have initialed it (or walked away). Long story short, they charged our credit card for the wave runner. It’s absurd. It’s extortion! Do Not ruin your week by renting anything from this company. Sadly, hotel management was no help. We would have considered going back but not now. Oh, they claimed two wave runners collided. If that were the case, wouldn’t the other wave runner have damage as well? We will be contacting the better business bureau and writing reviews everywhere. This is not an act of spite. This is to help the next person. If we don’t speak up, what keeps them from doing this again and again.

Beware if you are English - prices in dollars when you think it is Indonesian rupiah Charged for glass bottom boat ride as well as trip in boat to turtle island - glass bottom boat was so grubby could not see any fish - no fish saw on our trip - very disappointing. When there turtle island was lovely but not convinced by their principles ( saving turtles but all drinks had plastic straws ) Owner very pleasant when taking money but very different when gently explained we were dissatisfied. Beware - would not recommend to use this company
