An evening walk around some of Jaipur’s markets
My wife and I had a guided tour of some of Jaipur’s markets and artisan’s shops located in it’s many side streets. This busy evening walk took both shops and local vendors selling food which allowed us to sample what was on offer. There were paper makers, fabric sellers, a lot of shops catering for wedding apparel which gave us an insight into the regional culture. Our guide was very knowledgable and introduced us to life lived by local people.

      Walking through old Jaipur
Pranshu took us on a fascinating tour through the streets of old Jaipur where you can only go by foot! We tasted different foods and saw the many trades that have settled here up to 150 years ago. We saw building for the merchants given by the king in 1780s and still lived in today. We would never have seen such sites from a bus or a car. He was very friendly and knowledgable on all aspects of Jaipur life and smoothly took us from place to place. He knew the merchants and their present as well as the past. It was great fun, very educational and good exercise! A super guide leading us gently on a great tour made for an excellent experience! Thanks Pranshu!!

      Good tour
Kumkum was an excellent young guide who explained history and general trade of Jaipur in a very pleasant manner. She also was very aware of our safety and appreciated that we, as an elderly couple, had to take the tour quite slowly and arranged for our trip to end just a little early with a tuk tuk trip back to our driver when we tired. A good tour.

Jaipur Bazaar Edplosion of Colors, Sights and Sounds
A fabulous tour guide with an exceptionally detailed understanding of the rich history of the market, Anumita colorfully described vendor after vendor. At literally every turn she explained all facets of the area, vendors and relationships to Jaipur culture. Anumita is a walking encyclopedia of Jaipur tradition! The bazaar is an absolute must-see for anyone visiting Jaipur! We only spent a couple of hours, but would recommend as much time as your schedule allows.

Highlight of our holiday! Life is all about the people you meet and experiences you share.
We can’t recommend the cooking experience highly enough. It was wonderful to walk around the local vegetable market with Akshat, choosing the vegetables we wanted to try later. We then went back to his home, met his lovely wife and his parents. Before we knew it we felt like one of the family, cooking alongside them, following their directions. The food was delicious and we learned a lot. Thank you so much to you all for making us feel so very welcome. This was, for sure, a highlight of the holiday which will stay in our memories for ever.

      Great tour!
We did the Bazaar, Cuisine and Crafts of Old Jaipur walk with Anshu around mid-February and had a wonderful time learning about the history of the crafts people and industry in Jaipur, as well as architectural details of buildings in the area and the other interesting information Anshu imparted. The food stops along the way were delicious and it was an enjoyable tour. Would recommend to anyone interested learning more about the history and culture of this fascinating part of Jaipur.

      Sights, sounds and taste 👍👍👍
Enjoyed a really informative couple of hours walking the old streets of Jaipur. The colours in the shops, the sounds of the hustle and bustle of the streets and sampled some tasty savoury and sweet snacks. Lots of information about life in Jaipur, time passed so quickly and we would definitely recommend.

Great evening visiting the food market, then cooking & chatting to Sonal & her family.
A delightful evening started with Sonal taking us round to her local market. She asked us whether or not we wanted to go vegetarian or non-vegetarian. We chose the former because our experience of India is how good people are at making interesting vegetarian dishes. She then allowed us to explore all the fruits & vegetables in the market, before purchasing. Many are similar to those in the UK, but there are others as well… and the carrots are red here… at this time of year. We returned to her house, met the rest of the family, her husband & in-laws, who are all very engaging, before getting on with the cooking. All of it starts with mustard oil & frying, on a gas hob. It’s made more efficient & faster by extensive use of pressure cookers… they have 7. Great chat along the way & then we all sat down for a delicious home cooked meal. After all that, my wife tried on a Sari. Great additional experience that made her feel fantastic Thanks for a lovely evening!

A deep dive into Jaipur’s historic shopping streets and alleys. Packed with colour, detail and information.
We did the tour with Anuminta who proved a knowledge and informative guide. We learned a lot about Rajasthani and Hindi customs as well as the wonderful haveli, even going inside one to watch turbans being made. We enjoyed the tasty snacks and the fascinating background information about how they are made. Anuminta took great care of us, especially crossing the busy roads. We would recommend her as a guide.

      Cooking with Sonal and family
We both enjoyed our experience cooking with Sonal and chatting and eating with her family. We first went to purchase fresh vegetables from her local market. We were then treated to Masala tea and homemade savoury snacks whilst chatting to her mother and father-in-law. This was followed by chopping and cooking under Sonal's supervision - Dahl, aubergine dish, mixed vegetable curry & cumin rice. Her traditional way of cooking using various pressure cookers proved a tasty way to eat. She is passionate about cooking with fresh vegetables every day and sharing her enjoyment. We had a very relaxed sociable evening.

Today we had the great opportunity to experience Jodhpur‘s old city which is called blue city because of the blue colored walls of the houses. It has been an amazing experience as our great guide, Rocky Singh, showed us all the tiny little things that you can see in the blue city and in the chaotic market area. We can strongly recommend this tour with Rocky.

We did the Jodhpur blue city tour with Rakesh ji and it was amazing. He met us in the morning at the scheduled time, and ensured our needs were taken care of.

Seeing the city through the eyes of a local was an enriching experience. Having grown up in India, it always surprises me how little I know about the different places in India, and Jodhpur was no exception. Rakesh ji was quite informed about the history and culture of Jodhpur, and he guided us to the cool spots of Jodhpur, be it the Mehrangarh fort, the royal Ummaid Bhawan Palace, or the delicious makhani lassi at a famous restaurant.

Thank you Rakesh ji for making Jodhpur the best part of our Rajasthan tour. I highly recommend this tour with him.

Rakesh (Rocky) gave us an excellent introduction to Jodhpur. Two hours - taking in the Blue city and the market was both informative and enjoyable. Rakesh is obviously very knowledgeable and shares that knowledge with engaging stories and details.
The following day we brought produce from the markets and then proceeded to cook out dinner. With excellent and friendly instruction from a wonderful local family - truly an unforgettable experience. And great friends made 😀

Thank you M.D. for an amazing and informative tour of Jaipur! MD showed us a very special part of Jaipur. We visited homes, local markets and entered some beautiful temples, which were not on a tourist map! The highlight was watching the beautiful and colourful women of Jaipur gathering and singing together in their temple. An incredible experience. MD also shared some wonderful insights about everyday life in Jaipur. A great morning! Thank you

We had the most wonderful tour of Temples & Havelis in Jaipur with Anshu as our guide. It was an early morning walking tour, just as Jaipur was waking. Anshu was so knowledgeable and informative, sharing her obvious love in her city and its fascinating history. We saw another side to Jaipur; the spiritual alongside the everyday and how these two are interwoven. A real 'must do' experience if you want to try and see the real city and peek beneath tourist view. Thank you Anshu so much.

My 80 year old mother and I had a phenomenal day and a half in Jodhpur with our fantastic guide, Rocky. Not only did he take us on the most knowledgeable tour of the Spice Market, Fort, royalty cremation site and Palace, he found a delicious place for lunch followed by a fascinating walk through the blue city. He also took us to an outstanding embroidery exhibition called Surface. So beautiful.

Rocky has a great energy and kindness that made our full day in Jodhpur simply the best!

Soda was our favorite guide through all Rajasthan. He is extremely knowledgable, genuinely friendly and patient. We visited the fort, had a nice lunch before a visit to the Bisnoi villages and then visited a nice textile shop and spice shop. We loved his guidance and the places he showed us, thank you so much Soda! Hope to see you soon.
