        Fantastic experience
Praveen is an absolute Gem of an individual. His easy manner and caring attitude is exceptional , so much so that my business colleagues and I invited him to dine with us after the running tour and joined his sightseeing tour the next day as well. I would highly recommend Praveen and his tours which are very informative and definitely good value for money. All the very best Praveen !

Don’t waste time with any other tour!!
This is my 4th time in this city and I wish I had found Praveen sooner!! From start to finish, he was a fantastic guide—knowledgeable, humble, and incredibly kind. His deep passion for the city’s history and culture made every stop on our tour come alive. Our journey began at Lalbagh Botanical Garden, where Praveen walked us through the cities fascinating history. Strolling past centuries-old trees, we learned about Bangalore’s role in world history. From there, we had an unexpected treat—up close visit with monkeys playfully swinging through the trees in a quiet corner of the city. Getting up close with these peaceful creatures was a bucket list item! No visit to Bangalore is complete without indulging in its famous food, and Praveen took us to one of the city’s legendary tiffin restaurants, Mavalli Tiffin rooms. The crispy dosas and fluffy idlis, served with fragrant sides and sweets, were absolutely delicious. If you are a coffee lover, Praveen will share the importance of filter coffee in Bangalore’s culture. Next, we visited the Bull Temple, home to an enormous Nandi statue carved from a single rock. Praveen’s storytelling made the experience special—he shared the legend behind the temple and why Nandi holds such significance in Hindu mythology. A stop at the flower markets was another highlight. The vibrant explosion of colors and fragrances was mesmerizing. Praveen guided us through the bustling stalls, introducing us to local vendors and explaining the cultural importance of flowers in Indian festivals and daily rituals. Finally, we passed by Vidhana Soudha, Bangalore’s grand parliament building. Praveen explained its architectural style and how it symbolizes Karnataka’s governance. It was a perfect way to wrap up a tour that blended history, culture, and local life so seamlessly. What stood out most about Praveen was his warmth and genuine love for sharing Bangalore’s story. He answered every question with enthusiasm and made sure everyone in the group felt engaged. If you want to truly experience Bangalore’s rich history with a guide who makes it personal and memorable, I can’t recommend Praveen enough!

        An incredible day
We were in Bangalore for work and had a spare day and wanted to go on a tour that would give us exposure to the local culture and highlights. For that, I can't recommend anything other than a tour with Praveen. He is a great storyteller and his tour is very thoughtfully designed with a good balance of time spent in each location with a good balance of resting and walking. It was also helpful to have him accompanying us through crowded areas, for two women traveling alone we felt very safe and it was nice to relax and let him manage the day and logistics as he does very well. His apparent joy in ensuring everyone has a good time was my favorite part. I can't wait to return and take another tour with Praveen.

Sculptural marvel of Vijayanagara empire during 16 th century in Andhra
Sculptural marvel of Vijayanagara empire belonging to 16 th century in Andhra. Well maintained Veera Bhadra -Siva - temple in a sprawling complex with several sculptures still in tact. Treat to eyes. Mystery pillar where bottom is free from ground also can be seen. Takes around one to two hours on a weekday. Pigged attractions like Jatayuvu on a hillock and single rock Nandi are in a different place. Recommended.

How long did it take to go up and down the stairs.
I was concerned about the stairs because I am 68 and not athletic. I was pleased that I got to the top in about 20 minutes and down in half the time. The rock steps are well worn and I did it barefoot. The handrails helped alot.

A great tour and experience of an amazing city.
We had a great experience with our profesional tour guide. We visited some amazing places in Bangalore. Our guide Praveen bought Jasmin flower necklaces for my husband and I to exchange as Indian bride ang grooms do, which was a sweet experience for me. I really enjoyed the Indian lunch, which provided a great variety of fantastic food to taste, with as much as you could eat.

If you find yourself in Bangalore and want to explore it in a safe, comfortable, and knowledgeable manner, call Praveen!
My 2 sons (ages 17 and 15), wife, and I toured Bangalore with Praveen Singh (the owner of Hidden Gems Tours) on a customized version of his regular full-day tour spread out across 2 days. Our family was still adjusting due to jet lag and Praveen's flexibility and willingness to accommodate our schedule and requests made it possible for us to enjoy every moment. We started with a late afternoon tour of Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens on New Year's Day that was simply spectacular. Praveen heard that my youngest son is a huge fan of animals and ensured that we had the opportunity to interact with a friendly (and well-behaved) colony of rhesus macaques during our tour. The next day was spent visiting various sites such as the Bull Temple, Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, the ruins of the Bangalore Fort, and K.R. Market. We had specifically requested to focus the tour on historic sights and deprioritize more common tourist spots such as Vidhana Soudha and Bangalore Palace. What really stands out about our experience with Praveen is the following: 1.) Passion for history and sharing knowledge - Praveen engaged all of us with a level of enthusiasm and attention to detail that is very rare in any person, let alone tour guides! He linked everything we saw first hand to world history spanning the American Revolution through India's various dynasties and ending with the British East India Company's conquests. This even extended to us learning about how chilis were introduced by the Portuguese to India from South America - something none of us knew and had always taken for granted was part of Indian cuisine! 2.) Friendship and camaraderie - Within the first hour of spending time with Praveen, all of us felt so comfortable and safe under his guidance through the busy and hectic spaces of Bangalore. Simply put - he's the expert and knows how to navigate the urban jungle that is Bangalore. 3.) Wonderful Human Being - finally, I just have to reiterate what a wonderful person Praveen is. This comes across in every interaction being genuine and you feel the care he has for his clients as people first. This is clearly more than a business for Praveen - it is truly his passion.

This tour was unforgettable, thanks to our amazing guide, Praveen! His deep knowledge of Bangalore’s history and culture brought every stop to life. We also got to try out one of the most iconic restaurants in Bangalore for a splendid South Indian meal. Highly recommend this to anyone who visits Bangalore!

Recommended Tour. 10 out of 10.
Tour Guide: Pradeep K. While in Bangalore for work I took a day to explore the city and booked a tour through Viator. The local company was Hidden Gems. I had zero issues booking the tour or receiving the instant conformation. My Guide, Pradeep, was at my hotel 15 minutes ahead of our scheduled departure and communicated well through WhatsApp to alert me of his arrival. Pradeep brought 37+ years of guide experience and local knowledge to my Best of Bangalore in a Day tour. His knowledge, approach to history, and perspective were informative, captivating and funny. He is as quick with a joke as he is with the historical information. At his core, Pradeep is extremely genuine and kind. I felt fortunate to see Bengaluru through his eyes and felt as if each stop on the tour was absolutely worth the time spent at each location. Lunch at MTR was included in my tour and was an experience in and of itself. I highly recommend anyone considering the tour to book without hesitation. I hope your experience in Bengaluru was as exciting and informative as mine. Enjoy your adventure! -Alex

        Best Tour Company in India
This is my 4th solo trip to India and my 3rd tour with Hidden Gems Tours. Hidden Gems are the best - knowledgeable, accommodating, and they will NEVER take you to a tourist trap where someone will try hard sell you "stuff" at exorbitant prices. Praveen is super passionate about history of India and singularly focused on creating a positive customer experience which is reflected in every aspected of his company.

By far one of the BEST tours I have had!

I initially booked the heritage tour of Lepakshi and the Nandi Hills, however the day before my scheduled tour the expert guide had fallen ill. Not to worry -- Praveen reached out and asked if I would instead be interested in the "Best of Mysore/Mysuru, Somnathpur & Srirangapatna in a Day" tour instead. Seeing as this was my first time in India, I happily obliged.

The morning of the tour -- his daughter Sanjana reached out to remind me of my pickup details, and I was picked up by her and their driver Riyaz bright and early!

Sanjana was an absolute delight -- explaining all the stops on our way and proving to be an expert in explaining the ins and outs of traditional Kanakata breakfast (our first stop!). We then learned all about the silk worm cocoon markets in the area -- stopping by one while learning the ins and outs of silk making.

Next we made it to Mysore to pick up our expert historical guide, who then proceeded to explain the ins and outs of Dussehra, the festival that was occurring that day that prevented us from touring the inside of Mysore Palace (the cultural experience of seeing everyone line up for the Elephant procession was interesting enough!) We later visited the Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace -- expert guide providing all of the historical context, the sultan's Gumbaz, and then the ruins of his fort before having an excellent and idyllic lunch on the banks of the River Cauvery.

Last but not least, we visited the Unesco World Heritage site of the 12th century Keshava Temple, Somnathpur -- by FAR my most favorite stop of the day tour! The stone carvings were so incredibly detailed and ornate, and even though they were damaged during 13th century conflicts, they all have lasted incredibly well! It was a delight to be able to touch the stones and learn the intricate stories behind the images.

After that we made the journey back to Bangalore -- tired in the best of ways from our long day.

I cannot recommend Hidden Gems Tours enough! Everyone was so kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable and if/when I make it back to Bangalore I intend to book them again for that Lepashki trip I missed out on. Thanks to the WHOLE Hidden Gems crew for the most amazing day in India.

This tour is in every single category outstanding. Sanjana is the most lovable, sincere and charming tour operator I’ve ever met. She takes so much time to emphasise and explain each detail in such an appreciative way, not overwhelming but just making fun to explore further.
The tour got us across lovely small villages, showing the daily life apart from the city’s trouble.
Faizan then guided through the temple and castle, making history alive, sharing many interesting anecdotes about the life in the palace or the festivals taking place a year.
I truly enjoyed every single second and highly recommend this tour to anyone who’s genuinely interested in exploring Mysore and everything in between and around.

After a very detailed and exciting tour of the Keshava Temple in Somanathapura and the impressive Palace of Mysore, including lighting, the journey continued through the Nilgri Biosphere. As announced, elephants and other wildlife appeared. Those who want to see more should book a safari, but as a tune-up very nice to see.
After a breathtaking drive over 30 serpentines, the highest destination in Ooty was reached. A tea factory in the middle of the tea gardens, right next to the accommodation wonderfully quiet embedded in the hilly landscape. From there you have a dreamlike view, in the evening the city glitters in the valley as if enchanted.
In the tea gardens, a herd of Gaurs, impressive animals, appeared to greet.
This place invites you to relax, linger and forget the world. An extensive walk through the gardens deepens this impression, the plants are colorful and exotic, the people open and of a poignant friendliness.
A visit to the tea factory is like a trip to a century gone by, to experience the production of tea up close, the anticipation of the next cup approaches.
So many intense impressions spur the long journey back down to the valley and on to Bangalore, the starting point.

I was in BLR for work in early Aug & at the last minute, contacted Praveen after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. Originally was intended to be a 3-day sightseeing trip which turned into a 4-day trip!

On Day 1, covered the Silk Cocoon Auction Centre, scrumptious breakfast on the way to Mysore, the Somnathpur Keshava temple (a truly wondrous feat of architecture reflecting the Hindu mythology), Srirangapatna Fort, visited the fabulous Mysore Palace & the street market at Mysore city.
Was accompanied by a very knowledgeable guide, Faizan, who was a wealth of information!
Discovered facts that are not in any conventional history books! He was a "hidden gem", alright!

On Day 2 & Day 3, visited the Chamundi temple in Mysore & then on to Nagarahole wildlife park for a safari. Stayed overnight at a farmhouse with homecooked meals..! I am sure I put on extra pounds :)

Day 4 was at Shravanabelagola, an ancient Jain spiritual site with temples spread over 2 hills. What the ancients could achieve in terms of construction & architecture is truly amazing.

What can I say? The entire trip was truly amazing to say the least. For something this experiential & wonderful to be arranged at short notice, I can only say thanks to Praveen, Faizan & Mansoor (our driver) for making it so memorable.

Will have no hesitation in recommending Hidden Gems to anyone who wants to have a good mix of experience (the old, the new, nature....) in discovering the hidden gems of Karnataka.

Praveen’s tours made my trip to India an unforgettable experience. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of this beautiful city and is clearly passionate about what he does. He gave an insight into the temples, gardens, ruins markets and land markings that I couldn’t have gotten without Hidden Gem tours. As a solo traveler I found him to be a very professional and friendly guide who has taken much time to curate each experience so you the most out of a short stay in Bangalore. I highly recommend the ‘Through the Ages’ and ‘Mysore’ tour for anyone visiting the city.

School trip with group of 4 students and 2 staff
An early 6.30am start, followed by a long informative drive out of Bengalaru, learning about the history of the city and its passing landmarks from our guide Pradeep Kools. Pradeep kept us entertsined all day, with long tales, jokes and his pragmatic views on life.
Pradeep was very accommoding. He took the time to explain the Indian vegetables that we were unfamiliar with. He fitted in the coracle rude which was extra. He made arrangements to meet my family friend along the route and took me to a government approved shop to buy silk to make into a dress.

A fabulous day, well worth the cost. Will definitely recommend it.

We ate a delicious South Indian breakfast, saw the gathering of silk cocoons ready for auctioning, visited: the 13th century (built 1268) Hindu Temple at Somnathpur, the Mysore Palace, local flower and veg market before stopping for lunch at the River Cauvery (a sacred Hindu river), where we also took a coracle boat ride. The coracle is used for fishing. The afternoon saw us visit the Tipu Sultan landmarks, the fort, his grave, the water gate (a secret entry into the Fort), and his Summer Palace with its very beautiful wall paintings.

I requested the trip to Mysore at very short notice and Praveen was able to make it possible spontaneously!
It was a wonderful, intense day full of impressions, colors, contrasts, wonderful delicacies, lots of interesting information without being overloaded-I really enjoyed it!
Praveen is a very sympathetic, warm and very dedicated guide who really responded to my needs at all times and guided me through the day in the most entertaining way imaginable with his profound knowledge, pleasant and funny way, so much nice he showed me, no question on my part that was not answered with great enthusiasm-you can feel that Praveen loves what he does!!

I also liked the little “hidden gems” on the drive to Mysore, which are a bit off the beaten track.

I was very enthusiastic and can only warmly recommend this trip from the bottom of my heart!
Next time I will choose Hidden Gems again - a great asset that will have an impact for a long time to come!

I only had 2 days to tour in the Bangalore area, so this tour fit my needs perfectly. However what I experienced far exceeded my expectations. Praveen is absolutely exceptional bringing forth a thorough knowledge of every place we visited and providing a wonderful sense of humor in his conversation. He knows the locals who providing us with some "perks" that we might not have gotten otherwise. The entire day was one of contrasts, from historical perspectives to authentic Indian food eaten to viewing the countryside (outside the 14 million population of Bangalore), to truly understanding the cultural aspect. It was so insightful and meaningful. Praveen provided a tremendous interpretation of an area of India that offers to much. I recently had the pleasure of touring Mysuru with Praveen, and it was an unforgettable experience. Their in-depth knowledge of the city’s history, culture, and landmarks truly enriched my visit. From the majestic Mysore Palace to Tipu Sultan Summer Palace And Museum , every stop on the itinerary was expertly curated, offering a perfect balance of sightseeing and relaxation. And breakfast and lunch at river side are nice to taste

A must book tour if you want to see historical and cultural Karnataka. Our guide Deena was exceptionally informed and hospitable and took good care of us. The drive through traffic is tiring, but our driver Salim was very skilled in making good time.

The monuments, palaces, historical events and folklore are a fascinating look into the history of the area and Deena was very well informed and enthusiastic in sharing details.

Recommend and suggest you prepare for a long day.
