About
The legacy of over 150 years of British presence in Bangalore is hard to miss if you are in the city. For example, the broad roads laid out over 200 years ago for horse carriages, bullock carts, and horsemen do a fine job of carrying the chaotic traffic of this day too. This is a half-day tour in a sedan/minivan and lasts about 4 hours

A walking tour of Bangalore
Jan. 2020 • Couples
This was a great tour. Praveen is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Bangalore, so we had a really interesting tour. He's so knowledgeable that I thought he must be moonlighting from a full time teaching job. But he says he's just a history buff. Finished off with breakfast under a Banyan tree. Great tour, recommended.

Great fun on the British walking tour
Jan. 2020 • Couples
Praveen took us on a wonderful tour around Cubbon Park and surrounds, and for a meal afterwards. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Bangalore and India, and it was a joy to hear him tell us all about it. He was patient with our endless questions, and took lots of photos for us. A wonderful host, we definitely recommend this tour!

Bangalore British Heritage Tour
Dec. 2018 • Friends
We didn't know quite what to expect when we met Praveen at 7 am at the Queen Victoria statue in Cubbon Park. We were pleasantly surprised. Praveen is a very knowledgeable guide who tailored our walk to the 3 persons on the tour. He has an infectious enthusiasm for history which energized those who were jet-lagged. He gave a very balanced and nuanced recounting of the views of the colonizers and their subjects. And it was topped off with a very atmospheric outdoor breakfast at the leafy Tivoli Gardens cafe. The south indian food was magnificent. I would recommend this tour highly.

Lots of history, culture and beautiful sights to be seen on this tour.

If you're looking to learn about the history and culture of some of Bangalores oldests traditions and landmarks, in a condensed session this is for you. We spent a half day visiting various locations around town. This tour is absolutely worth the time, you won't be disappointed. One item to note, wear comfortable shoes, bring water and a backpack to carry any goods if you make purchases at the market.

Informative and engaging: customized tour of Cubbon Park and Malleshwaram
May 2018 • Business
Parveen and Williams curated and narrated a superb tour of Cubbon Park and Malleshwaram for a group of undergraduate students from Toronto, Canada, an administrator and me, a director of Study Abroad course. The tour began in Cubbon Park and Praveen quickly contextualized the origins of Bangalore and the Park, drew our attention to the spectacular trees and their foreign origins, brought us to the sanctity of State Central Library, showed us the High Court of Karnataka, the ancient hero stones at the Venkatappa Art Gallery and the statues of Cubbon and Queen Victoria. Parveen and Williams then drove us over to Malleshwaram, a deeply spiritual neighbourhood with numerous temples, shrines, service organizations, and sadly, a heritage hotel slated for demolition, knitted together within a patchwork of picturesque alleyways. Throughout, Parveen shared his vast knowledge and archival photos and also arranged for refreshments.

I highly recommend Praveen and Williams as a way to immerse and learn about the rich history and unfolding present of Bangalore.

Praveen is fabulous tour guide.
Feb. 2018 • Business
We did a walking tour with Praveen the first day of arrival of the city starting with I believe the Landau Park. It was a great tour of the city with the park, breakfast, a couple of temples, the market. Praveen is very knowledgeable.....a real history buff and at the same time very casual and makes sure you are taken care of. What a way to see the city. We then did another tour in the evening seeing the Holy Trinity Church and 2 more temples which were beautiful! As well, we had fresh coconut milk and walked the local streets and through a smaller market.

A Guided Walk Through Cubbon Park
Sep. 2017 • Business
Praveen magically interwove for us the remarkable botanical, engineering, religious, socio-political and historical stories of Cubban Park and its surrounding area. He was amazingly well informed on this wide variety of topics! It felt effortless and aimed to meet our specific interests, and physical competencies. I particularly appreciated how well he gauged us as his guests, and his patience and gentleness with all our questions.
I highly recommend Praveen's tour and fully intend to sign up for another one on my return.

Best tour we could have taken
Nov. 2017 • Business
Praveen is a phenomenal tour guide.

He's a native of Bangalore, which adds a ton of color to the tour, but on top of that he's well read and he loves studying history. As an example, when talking about the influences of the various empires of the world throughout history, he went on a tangent about Japanese history and I learned things I never know about Japan. Praveen's intellectual curiosity was immediately obvious from the start of the tour when I got in the cab and he and my colleague were talking about the Indian space program.

He's very skilled at answering questions in a way that make it understandable for someone who knows almost nothing about India (me). He elaborated on local and national politics, where India sees itself in the world, the effects of British rule and how it shaped modern India, the struggles with poverty and corruption in India, how more modern political changes such as demonetization and the new GST have affected commerce locally, how Bangalore has changed over the past few decades as he has seen it, and so much more.

He talked about all of that in between the detailed historical descriptions of a local Christian church, a Hindu temple, a local-favorite sweets shop (that place was amazing) and the massive historical botanical gardens of Bangalore. He has clearly studied these places in great depth.

Also, he's a marathon runner, so if you (the reader of this review) like to run, you should probably drop everything and do his running tour. I have no doubt it would be fantastic. Don't be afraid to ask him questions - he can probably answer them.
