Overview
Experience the culture, history, architecture and cuisine of Bangalore on this 5-hour walking tour that showcases the best of this diverse and dynamic city. Visit eclectic markets, sample a savory south Indian breakfast and make stops at temples, palaces and forts with an expert local guide. This small-group experience is sure to be a memorable way to learn about Bangalore and get oriented to its landmarks.
What to Expect
We will meet you at the entrance gate of State Bank of Mysore in Bangalore at 8am themselves. You will be offered a refreshing coffee at the entrance to the market followed by brief overview of the tour. As you make your way through the 475-year old market place from north to south you will stop at various places to learn more about the local communities and crumbling heritage structures. At some point of this journey through the market we will stop at a local restaurant for southern style breakfast. Afterwards you will visit different shops and learn more about spices, flowers, fruits, baskets, recycled metal, recycled paper and more.
As we move further south, you will visit the Bangalore Fort where more than 2000 patriots lost their lives defending the city from British invasion. A short walk from there will bring you to the Tipu's Summer Palace that was originally within the fort boundaries. At the palace you will further explore the history and architecture of the times. Next to the palace you will see a 320-year-old south Indian temple. The tour ends at Tipu's Summer Palace.
