- jamierR2242EB0 contributionsEcuador adventure exceeds expectationsI had been dreaming about visiting the Galapagos Islands for years and once we had our first video call with Santiago Cardenas, Responsible Travel Ecuador, I knew the trip would be just what I had hoped for. Santiago asked all the right questions to ensure the trip was just right for our family. With a son with Down syndrome and Celiac Disease we have additional requirements which were handled with care. We started our adventure in Quito where Santiago took us to the Middle of the Earth, Panecillo, Church de la Compania, and around downtown Quito. Santiago was very informative and engaging. Our airport transfers were well organized. In the Galapagos, we had more incredible guides, especially Fernando in San Cristobal who made our tours even more fun. We learned so much from the guides, saw the tortoises, Blue Footed Boobies, Frigatebirds, iguanas, finches, sea lions, sea turtles, and sharks, kayaked, ate delicious meals, and explored the islands on our own with ease. We had lovely hotel accommodations in each city. The hotel staff were considerate about the gluten free restrictions. Santiago was always available through What’s App, answering all our questions. I would highly recommend Responsible Travel Ecuador for a Quito and Galápagos adventure! Ask for Santiago Cardenas! I know I will if we can find our way back to Ecuador!Written 11 January 2025
- SunchaserPhotography0 contributionsAnother EPIC Ecuadorian Adventure with Responsible Travel! My second time working with Responsible Travel, and Jazmin, my travel advisor was EXCELLENT! She provided excellent suggestions with her local knowledge of Ecuador. It was an EPIC trip that exceeded my expectations!! I requested the types of things I HOPED to see/do, and they delivered!! I saw so many species of wildlife in the Cuyabeno rainforest, condors in the Andes, toucans and hummingbirds in the cloud forests, and a wonderful place for hot springs heated by 2 volcanoes. It was an epic trip, and the weather was PERFECT. The guides, the transfers were all excellent and seamless every step of the way. I saw and did things I never thought were possible!! The staff at Responsible Travel were excellent, and attended to my every question, and need in minutes. I knew I was in great hands.Written 13 December 2024

- Navigate661066108580 contributionsAmazing and Very Accommodating AgencyThis agency helped us plan a memorable trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos. Cynthia was our coordinator. She was timely and professional with all communication from beginning to end. The trip was customizable and Cynthia included everything we wanted to experience. During the trip she also followed up almost daily to make sure everything was going well. The daily excursions were great, especially in Ecuador where we had Danny as our guide and Luis as our driver. They were a kind and very knowledgeable team. Luis was safe and timely in all transportation and Danny went above and beyond at every step. At one point I wasn't feeling well and Danny went out of his way to get me something to help me feel better. He also was extremely knowledgeable on everything and had great food recommendations.. 10/10 guide! Overall a great agency to work with!Written 16 November 2024

- NATASHA LAN N0 contributions11 days 10 nights Ecuador TourI usually prefer group tours and since I book at the last minute so I had a tailor tour similar to a solo tour and it was tough to navigate through Ecuador alone but I have a good tour guide each day to take me places.Written 11 August 2024
- beckieb20200 contributionsFantastic Ecuador experience with amazing supportOur tour with 2 adult children was customized by the excellent agents (Alvaro and Jeferson) at Responsible Travel (they started the process with a 1-hour Zoom call to help plan our trip). This Ecuadorian tour company was booked through TravelLocal and was everything we hoped they'd be and more! We scheduled a day in Mindo, 4 days in the Amazon at Nicky Lodge, 4 days in the Galapagos, and a day touring Quito (Old Towne, Intinan, and Mitad del Mundo). What was so great about this tour company? They delivered on every item on our itinerary and the drivers, guides, and transportation in between each bucket list stop were capable, friendly, and helpful. Shout out to Mateo, Alejandro, Vivien, Darwin, and Ricardo - we didn't have to worry about a thing, as the drivers met us at our hotels and got us to where we needed to be, with admission, ferry tickets, etc. already in hand. In one instance, where we wanted to change plans, Jeferson responded immediately on Whatsapp to enable our change. In fact, he checked in with us on Whatsapp every night to make sure we were doing well and even met us at our hotel for breakfast one morning! A couple warnings - the bus ride from Quito to the embarkation point for the Amazon is indeed 9 hours plus with some significant curvature and rough roads. And many establishments in the Galapagos are cash only (US dollars), so be prepared. However, the vacation and staff involved was truly amazing. Highly recommended.Written 27 June 2024
- pwrichards0 contributions14 Day Peruvian Andes & Galapagos tour was culturally, historically and visually stunning - an experience of a lifetime! We took the 14 Days Peruvian Andes and Galapagos tour, which was a great mixture of city highlights (Lima and Cusco), as well as Incan and Spanish colonial history, visiting Sacred Valley, Rainbow Mountain and Machu Picchu before heading to the Galapagos to visit multiple island. A tremendous experience, with great guides and comfortable accommodation.Written 27 May 2024
- S642EEerikat0 contributionsAmazing exploration of the Atacama desertI only had a few days to spend in the Atacama Desert, and Francisco was the best partner to help me to make the best use of the time. We have been in touch daily before my arrival, and he adapted the programs with great flexibility based on my interests and my changed travel plans. In an extremely short time I visited the Red Rocks, the salty lagunes and did sandboarding, and had a stunning night with 2 astrophysicists observing the night sky and discussing astronomy. Francisco made sure that i did not need to care or worry about anything, just enjoy the experience. Everything went smooth and on time, he was constantly attentive and a great communicator, the hotel booked was of best quality, the transfers were always on time and the programs were top notch. I can fully recommend his services and cant wait to come back to explore more.Written 12 May 2024
- Journey108312640450 contributionsExcellent trip; food, people, landscape, safety and support were beyond my expectations!I was supposed to travel with a local friend, but the universe told me to book this tour instead! Rest is history and I had a total blast meeting everyone, guides, other travelers, chauffeurs. indigenous people, hotel staff etc! Nobody disappointed. It was another superb travel experience in my lifetime, including the impromptu visit to a fiesta happening in a local pueblo and the ‘coco loco’; lasting memories I won’t forget so fastWritten 27 April 2024
- Fr_Federica0 contributionsGreat experience and client-centered serviceMy husband and I went on a tour of Galápagos Islands back in January 2024 and it was an absolutely gorgeous experience. The organization was well-thought to the smallest of the detail, and Tamer was always readily available to answer any question we may have. Absolutely recommended!Written 25 April 2024
- antondG9944CY0 contributionsFamily Trip to the Galapagos IslandsI am really pleased with our trip to the Galapagos Islands! The guides and tours were really nice... We saw many beautiful animals and the scenery was stunning. My favourite tour was to an inhabited island (North Seymour), the crew and guides were really nice and we had an amazing surprise when a group of dolphins swam with our boat. We had an amazing experience at our hotel in Santa Cruz (Palace Hotel) and the guided tours were really informative and unique. Alejandra has given us an unforgettable trip to the Galapagos Islands, I hope it is not the last!Written 26 March 2024
- albrechti20240 contributionsRain Forest ImmersionWe went at the beginning of March, and it rained only once moderately during the four days. This meant we were out exploring nature as early as 6.30 am. Our group consisted of eight congenial individuals, all passionate nature lovers and travelers, which made excursions and meal times interesting and enjoyable. The rain forest immersion began as soon as our motor canoe entered the forest. From now on, we were surrounded by the sounds of insects, calls of birds and mammals, flowers, enticing smells, dense foliage, and, of course, wildlife: different species of apes, caimans (regular and black), pink dolphins (in a lagoon), snakes, huge spiders, and more. The camouflage of some of these animals is so perfect that I occasionally looked directly at an animal without seeing it -- until five fingers pointed at it, and it moved! I also liked the dramatic after-dark canoe rides during which insects, large bats, and night birds were exposed in the guide's beam of light. And at the end of the day the spoils of civilization seemed twice as sweet (although our showers never got warm). Our guide, Rom, was fantastic.Written 22 March 2024
- bernhardh9810 contributions20 days full of exciting discoveries in the Andes and the rainforest, excellently organised by Sustainable Travel. The organisation of the trip was just perfect, all reservations and arrangement worked out fine. The guides had a profound knowledge of nature and cultural history and communicated very effectively throughout the trip. The guide's driving style was extremely safe and defensive on the not always great roads. Our guide also managed to give us a feeling of safety (despite the state of emergency for the whole of Ecuador during our trip) so that we were able to enjoy the trip to the full. The person in charge at Sustainable Travel was very responsive and enquired about our well-being almost every day. She catered to our wishes as early as the trip preparation stage and made great suggestions. The price-performance ratio was perfect and we can recommend Sustainable Travel with a clear conscience. Thank you very much for these wonderful days in Ecuador, a country with warm people and fantastic natural beauty, from the sea to the Chimborazo. Best regards Francianne and Bernhard Huwiler (Switzerland)Written 7 March 2024

Responsible travel planned the trip how I wanted. They were very punctual picking us up for all planned activities. The guides were very attentive and knowledgeable. I wished I had asked for more snorkel activities because Isabela island is a snorkel paradise. The visit to the sulfur mines is also great with beautiful views and the hike is moderate. I highly recommend your trip planned by responsible travel, it will take the stress away.
