Cocora valley, Salento and coffee tasting
Great tour and our guide was brilliant.
We were out for over 9 hours and didn’t feel rushed at any point.
Would recommend but suspect you could get a cheaper deal by shopping around, the ‘from’ price advertised was £70 cheaper that the actual cost paid.
Nature hikes in Pereira
Me and my wife had an excellent time in Pereira .
Jose David Cano was our guide for entire time- from picking us up from the airport to leading nature hikes, arranging lunches and coffee plantation excursions .
Jose was very enthusiastic , good at spotting local plants and birds. He was accommodative in rearranging our day to make it more efficient when needed.
We really enjoyed his commentaries and learned a lot about local nature and history.
We kept in touch with him and hope to see him in the future when we will come back to Colombia.
I will highly recommend Jose as a nature guide in Pereira.
Nature Trips Colombia- Pereira, Salento, Cocora, Filandia, Marsella, coffee tour, fruit and chocolate tour
I highly recommend Nature Trips Colombia for your visit to the magical places that Colombia has to offer. This team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable Colombians will creat the perfect touring experience.
David, our tour coordinator, gave us excellent suggestions and helped us create the perfect itinerary for our visit to the Coffee-growing region of Colombia.
Our tour guides Joseph and Juan Camilo were excellent. They gave us so much information about the region and were genuinely doing their best to create a fun and educational experience for our family that my kids will always remember.
The first day, we visited Luis Fernando Velez’s organic fruit and cocoa farm, Brisas del Cauca. My kids loved going through the entire process of making chocolate. They learned so much about plants and conservation, and will never forget that valuable experience.
The second day, Camilo guided us through a tour of a family-owned coffee farm, la Divisa de Don Juan. The family was amazing at welcoming us, teaching us about the process of producing coffee, and taught my kids how to pick coffee and the whole process. They even planted their own coffee plant. Juan Camilo is a coffee connoisseur and taught us a lot about the taste, brewing, and exporting of Colombian coffee. In the afternoon, we wanted to go zip lining in the Canopy de los Caracolies. This was not part of our original tour, but David and Camilo went out of their way to accommodate our tour. They arranged a lovely lunch and then we had a very fun zip lining experience in the jungle canopy.
The third day, Joseph lead us on a magical tour of the Valle del Cocora, where he guided us through magical interaction with the majestic wax palms. He arranged a delicious lunch at Helena Adentro, a funky fusion restaurant in Filandia. Joseph knew we would love it and he was right! He also organized a basket-weaving experience with a local artisan, which we loved! My kids will have those baskets (and those magical memories) forever!
The drivers were great, navigating the narrow and curved mountain roads expertly.

Wonderful day trip !!!
Thanks a lot to Nature Trips team for arranging a beautiful day trip for me. I enjoyed a lot. My guide David Alvarez was super knowledgeable and very kind. Salento & Cocora Valley is a great place to visit, it's really really really worthy and I highly recommend this company
Camillo was great! We learned alot! His english was very good and he knew alot about coffee and the local area. We will do it again!
Cocora Valley, Salento, and Coffee Tasting
EXCELLENT AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
We had an incredible time with the best tour guide and driver ever (Jasmine and Junior). Our tour guide Jasmine was extremely knowledgeable and spoke English very well. We would have missed so many beautiful wild life if it weren’t for her. She knew of all the wild life and various plants, and all of the information related to the history of the beautiful wax palms and the valley. I would very highly recommend her. Pick-up and drop-off at the hotel was perfect. Our day could not have been better. THANK YOU JASMINE for an experience of a life time!!
Coffee triangle area
We had a very full and memorable time for the two days we spent in Pereira region.
Hiking in Cocora Valley was spectacular , although it was during the holiday week before Easter and the trails were crowded, we were able to see lots of wildlife thanks to our guide and naturalist Jose David Cano.
Hi spottied different birds and trees and thought us about their live cycles and use. He was impressively knowledgeable to the point I thought he had a biology background
A vary pleasant young man, easy to communicate with and we learned a lot.
Cocora valley , coffee farm and butterfly sanctuary- must see in the region.
We had such a great trip - the guide Jasmin was excellent, and my family and I enjoyed spending many funny hours with her. She had a great knownlegde about everything we saw on the trip - and gave us much information about Colombia and its culture.
The trip itself is stunning!! We absolutely loved the Cocora Valley.
Would highly recommend!

Unforgettable! José was an excellent guide.
I first visited this area in 2012, but returned in August 2018 with my parents and aunt. SO glad this time I chose a guided tour. There were so many things I missed doing it on my own, and our guide (José Cano) was fantastic. He took us to a great family finca for the most thorough and enjoyable coffee experience, took us horseback riding through Valle de Cocora (not everyone in the party could hike), and pointed out unique birds and plants as well as architectural details in Salento. José also got us some local fruits to try. We also loved seeing Filandia, which was a great little town where we felt like we got a taste of local life. He clearly knew the best spots to go, and was willing to share his experiences about what it's like living in the area. He was also super accommodating for my family's mobility problems, and was incredibly patient with our many questions. José was really easy-going and personable, and my family was really glad to have him with us. This was by far my family's favorite region in our Colombia tour. Can't recommend this enough!
Exploring Cocora, Salento and the coffee making process
A thoroughly absorbing adventure through the coffee region in Colombia. Jose was a fantastic guide, sharing facts and details of the fascinating country as well as Pereira itself. Polly and I loved our day trip and would recommend utilising Jose's knowledge and enthusiasm to make the tour even better.
Hiking, and coffee experiencxe
Our family went hiking in the Cocoro Valley forest, followed by a visit to a coffee plantation. Most of us toured the plantation, and all of us went to the coffee lab, where we sampled coffee and learned how to rate it from many dimensions. Very interesting but too long in the lab with an over-enthusiastic staff member.
Unforgettalble Experience! Chocolate, Nature Park, Wax Palms, Coffee and More
On a recent trip to Colombia we decided at the last minute to visit the coffee growing regions of Risaralda and Quindío. We selected Nature Trips Colombia because of their positive reviews. David Alvarez made our arrangements and did a great job customizing the three tours we chose. The one we enjoyed the most was Tours del Chocolate. We travelled by Jeep Willys to Senderos Orgánicos Brisas del Cauca. The owner, Señor Luis Fernando, gave us a personal tour of his plantation. We saw and tasted many natural fruits and herbs. He showed us how to pick fruit from the cacao tree and we actually got to process the cacao beans into creamy chocolate. A delicious homemade lunch was included in our visit. It was an amazing experience. In the other two tours we selected during our visit we hiked through the lush forest at Barbas Bremen Natural Park, then visited Filandia and Salento with their brightly painted colonial homes. We saw the majestic wax palms in the Cocora Valley and learned how coffee is grown and processed at Finca El Ocaso. Our tour guide Yazmin was full of energy and accommodated specific requests we made during the tours. The drivers we had for each tour were very professional and we were never worried about our safety. We recommend selecting Nature Trips Colombia if you want an unforgettable experience.

Great Tours of Beautiful Colombia
We went to Salento on a tour lead by the charming and knowledgeable Yazmin. The first part was a visit to the Cocora Valley to see the amazing wax palm trees. That was an incredible experience. The beautiful valley and its magnificent palm trees must be seen to be appreciated. It has to be among the highlights of my visit to Colombia. Later on, we visited a coffee plantation and learned about the coffee process. It was very interesting and the countryside we visited was very beautiful. Salento in a very nice town with friendly people around. Yazmin is a great tour guide. She is very proud of her country’s natural beauty and loves to share it with travelers. She educates and explains things in a very interesting way. Her humor is contagious. I learned a lot from Yazmin and highly recommend her as a tour guide. She will not disappoint you if you are lucky to have her as your guide.
Delicious poolside lunch and fun coffee tour
Our group of six loved the coffee tour, which really does take you from the seeding process to harvesting and stripping your own berries, and then to a tasting of on-the-spot ground and roasted coffee. I haven’t looked at or enjoyed a cup of coffee quite the same way since (in a good way). We appreciated how seriously our guide took the craft of coffee-growing and how proud he was of the result. We found it best to go with his flow, don the requisite poncho and wide-brimmed hat, and use our baskets for highly selective picking. A bonus was how beautiful the farm was – quite hilly with enough shades of green to rival Ireland.
I had my destination wedding in Pereira, Colombia. We decided to do the tour with naturetrips because we had friends visiting us from different countries. David was the person in charge of coordinating the plan, cost, and he also recommended hotels in Salento. He was very helpful with everything and he always answered my questions since I do not live in Colombia. Joseph was the guide, and he is very nice!! You have to pick him to do your tour if you decide to do it in the coffee region. The tour was perfect, he spoke English and Spanish, and also the bus was nice and the food was really good. Thank you Joseph and David for making our trip one of the best experiences in Salento. I highly recommend this company since they are very professional.
