The Antioquia region is bigger than Costa Rica, is characterized by its historic towns, its traditional Colombian cuisine, its biodiversity, and its routes full of flowers and coffee plantations that have made Colombia famous.

We stay 45 kilometers outside the city to pedal our first rides at 2,300 meters (8,202 feet) above sea level and then we move to the southwest of Antioquia, where we will learn about coffee in Colombia.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- G7402WHjamiep0 contributionsWhat an experience!!The whole time we spent with Colombia Cycling was fantastic, from the moment we were collected from the airport by Daniel, our guide for the next 5 days, to catching up over a coffee with Thomas and Marcela at the end! The cycling was a challenge but always with something to see and some motivation from the support car. The team did as they said and all our needs and wants were catered for, you don’t need to do anything other than ride your bike for the whole trip! Seeing the authentic side of Colombia is a must and even better from a bike. The food and in particular all the exotic fruits were delicious. I cannot wait to return, maybe the gravel adventure next?! Thank you all for such a memorable trip!Written 1 July 2024
- georgeeL8093ZL0 contributionsColombia Cycling adventure! The trip was very well organised and the itinerary very well planned. The accommodation offered a diverse experience which made it interesting and fun. The staff were extremely welcoming, supportive, motivational and really good people :) I felt very safe and supported which allowed me to relax and savour every moment in Colombia. The diet provided was fresh, ample and perfect fuel to conquer the climbs! I don't think this is an experience you would only do once, a return trip is calling!!Written 17 June 2024
- apchait0 contributionsGreat guides, beautiful ride, amazing amenitiesIncredible cycling tour with Tomas and Daniel. Expert guides, great riders and a perfect day out through spectacular roads. The finishing touches of meal and shower in a beautiful lodge in the mountain was perfect. Will be back!Written 4 May 2024
- T9960VPtanyat0 contributionsOUT OF THIS WORLD!Totally FANTASTIC! Exceeded my expectations. The cycling, route, accommodation, food, amazing support from vehicles, snacks, electrolytes..... and..and.... was top class! The support team and organisers were super accommodating and helpful and their expertise and knowledge guided us all through on this wonderfully challenging route. And, to top it all, we received a thoughtful and super useful surprise gift on our beds at night, SO delightful! I can't say enough to thank the fabulous humans who made this trip possible. I LOVED every moment and have already told many on the rest of my trip that its a MUST do adventure. Highly recommended! THANK YOU Cycling Colombia.Written 20 April 2024
- Krishama0 contributionsBest guides! An adventure and training in one.The trip exceeded all my expectations. From start to finish, every aspect of the journey was exceptional, earning it 5 stars! The guides were outstanding. Knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about cycling. I was well looked after by the when conquering Alto de Letras, and learned a lot. The itinerary was thoughtfully crafted, offering a perfect mix of challenging hills and breath taking views. Not to mention the comfy beds in handpicked hotels!Written 18 April 2024
- FrequentFlier5872160 contributionsIncredible experienceAmazing experience! Tomas took me on an incredible ride (and juice/coffee stops) and was extremely helpful with communication while I decided on what I wanted to do. He gave great instructions on how to get to the meeting spot and took some great pictures that I get to share with friends! Can't recommend him more and would love to come back and do a longer tour.Written 11 February 2024
- Michael S0 contributionsA cycling experience to savour!I recommend highly Colombia Cycling. We enjoyed an experience of a lifetime— a week I will never forget. Challenging and stimulating cycling through gorgeous Colombian country side, passing through hillside towns filled with energy and life. Fully helpful and professional staff who provided excellent support for the rides, and who ensured that we were safe at all times. Excellent bikes and e-bikes. Wonderful unexpected surprises throughout the week, like a pizzeria in a beautiful garden in the middle of nowhere after a good ride… to savour Luigi’s local delicious pizza after enjoying a “hippy shower” behind a banana tree! Your senses and imagination will be heightened as the week progresses. The owner operators Tomas and Marcela pay tremendous attention to detail, and you will definetly enjoy the “ride” of a lifetime!.Written 27 January 2024
- heliumw0 contributionsExcellent serviceDespite my height they went the extra mile and found a really big bike so I could do a MTB tour, nice quiet roads with good overviews of the valley. Also gave some handy tips on what to do more and for transportation. Very happy and thanks for the photo's.Written 10 October 2023
- KarolinaM1350 contributionsEverything can be archivable with the right Team!Words will not be enough to express my gratitude for the PERFECT logistics that helped us conquer this climb. They DID everything perfectly – the hydration, the snacks, the empowering words in moments of despair, the photos taken – always there, always "moscas." :) ... EVERYTHING was perfect! Please do yourself a favor and use @Colombia Cycling and their whole team! You will not be disappointed even if you go and don't conquer the monster climb. The roads were not that busy since we did the climb on a Sunday and cars expect and respect cyclists. A few segments were under construction, but nothing complicated or crazy to worry about. ;)"Written 25 September 2023
- 910michielk0 contributionsPerfect day to meet the Colombian cycling life!Very nice experience! Tomas is a really nice guy and one hell of a cyclist! He arranged a single day ride for me and my three Dutch friends with a coffee stop. Really nice route, with nice roads and even 2 extra guides to accompany us. Especially during the climbs when we split up due to some fitness difference this was very nice. The route went through beautiful green hills and some challenging climbs. Exactly what you would wish for when you are looking for a ride in Colombia. We saw a lot of other cyclists and this is also a well known area for professional cyclists to train at high altitude. The coffee stop was very nice aswell and on top of the first big climb, so really well timed. This was also a place where pro cyclists often come by. We get to make a picture with local Ineos hero Daniel Felipe Martinez who was also training on the same roads as we were and was very kind to stop for a photo! Bikes were in very good condition. Only, maybe one thing to improve are the bikes for longer guys like me (1.90m+). Bikes were still visibly in good condition and well maintained. However, my bike was not as high end as the others and I had to climb with less of a mountain gear. Understandbly, because there is probably no need to make much bikes for people as long as us Dutch guys in Colombia ;). Overall, it was a great experience! Would highly recommend booking any cycling trip with Tomas!Written 7 September 2023
- EmmanuelTreich0 contributionsAmazing experienceDelighted with the 2 days cycling tour custom made by Tomas for us. The bikes provided were great and the rides with Tomas and Juan were really enjoyable with beautiful landscapes and perfect conditions. Special thanks as well to Marcela for all the good recommendations she provided in the different places we visited during or after the tour. We will come back for another tour for sure.Written 3 May 2023

- davidcY9135VV0 contributionsUnforgettable Medellin to Guatape ride and engagement!I had such a fantastic experience with the Colombia Cycling team and absolutely recommend riding with them! I did the Medellin to Guatape ride and also worked with Marcela and Tomas to craft an amazing proposal to my girlfriend at the end of the ride. It was an absolutely unforgettable experience and must thank their entire team (Marcela, Tomas, Tomas, Juan). Their team exhibited so much care for their customers and their love for riding was evident during the entire process. The ride (~ 38 miles) was challenging, rewarding, enlightening and helped us get to know Colombia on a deeper level. Colombia Cycling and Colombia itself will always have a special place in our hearts and look forward to riding with them again in the future :)Written 10 November 2022
- G3971GSmarkb0 contributionsA Memorable Cycling ExperienceTomas and Marcella have built an excellent and rewarding Colombian cycling tour business. They provide a turnkey experience where riders don’t have to worry about much. The routes, the food, and the accommodations provide a true Colombia experience. Their tour guides are knowledgeable, friendly, and very experienced cyclists. Colombia Cycling is more than just riding bicycles. They have built their business around the unique cultural and sociological aspects of Colombia. You will learn a lot about Colombia, especially about its rise from a violence-torn country to the friendly and welcoming country it is today. Colombia is a beautiful country and Colombia Cycling will show cyclists everything it has to offer!Written 6 November 2022

From the beginning of the trip, Tomas and Marcela made us (a group of 5 people from the US and Canada) feel safe and well taken care of. They were incredibly communicative with us on WhatsApp and treated us not as tour clients, but warmly as friends. Tomas eased us quickly into Colombia through his depth of experience, providing an endless amount of stories about Medellín, coffee culture, foods, and cycling. He guided the first day of our ride himself, both as a strong cycling partner and cultural guide. We felt welcomed instantly as foreigners visiting the country for the first time with little Spanish speaking abilities. The team consistently made sure that all our rooms and equipment were ready ahead of time, and that our needs were proactively taken care of. We never had fueling issues. All the meals were very well planned to properly fuel our intense rides, not to mention being thoughtfully curated to showcase the diversity of the local cuisine. We were able to experience the rich selection of climbs near Medellín, both challenging us physically and allowing us to explore the characters of small pueblos nestled within the mountains. We were also given extra ride options not available in the initial plan to challenge ourselves further. The flexibility with which the tour was organized is amazing. When splitting into smaller packs, the team consistently ensured no one was left behind and that they had nearby support.
What was uniquely impressive about Colombia Cycling was the attention to detail and intimate personal touches they put into our experience - daily little gift bags that appeared on our beds, flexibility of scheduling, readily available biking support, fun salsa lessons, local desserts, tasty hand made coffee. Everyone was highly passionate about the job, interacted with mounds of positive energy, and was very pleasant to be around and engage in conversation with. We couldn't think of much to be improved.
The 7 day tour and Alto de Letras climb are collectively one of the best experiences I've done, period.

I had the privilege of joining an unforgettable cycling vacation in Colombia, organized by Tomás and Marcela, and it exceeded all expectations. This seven-day journey (April 2024) perfectly combined challenging and scenic cycling routes with cultural experiences and outstanding hospitality.
Each ride showcased Colombia's stunning landscapes, from the lush hills of Medellín to the coffee plantations of Antioquia. The rides were challenging yet rewarding, with well-planned routes that included exhilarating climbs and breathtaking views. Our guide, Daniel, was a gem—knowledgeable, attentive, and meticulous in handling everything bike-related, from fittings to route insights and on-the-spot repairs.
Safety was a priority throughout, and I always felt completely secure on every ride and transfer. The drivers in Colombia were incredibly friendly to cyclists, allowing us to ride two-by-two on the roads and even giving us priority when arriving in towns, making the experience seamless and welcoming.
The accommodations were top-notch, with charming boutique hotels offering pools, great atmospheres, and exceptional service. Every meal was a culinary delight, featuring local flavors that fueled us for the rides and pampered us afterward. The coffee at breakfast was outstanding, and during the rides, we made stops at amazing local coffee shops for fresh coffee, smoothies, or both. It was a wonderful way to mix with locals and soak in the culture.
Having a driver to transport our belongings and prepare everything at our next destination made the logistics seamless, allowing us to focus entirely on the experience. Beyond cycling, the itinerary included enriching cultural activities, such as visiting traditional towns, exploring coffee culture, and learning about Medellín's inspiring social transformation.
This tour is a must for cycling enthusiasts looking to challenge themselves while soaking in the beauty and culture of Colombia. I can’t wait to return and relive this incredible adventure. A big thank you to Tomás, Marcela, and Daniel for creating memories that will last a lifetime!

We did an 8 day trip which included Letra’s and the entire team at Colombia Cycling were incredible. From the minute we arrived, everything was prepared and ready for us. Every day, we were taken care of not only on the rides, but with the hotels and food - it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life and recommend to any cyclist that wants to experience Colombia to contact them.

My wife and I had the best experience with Colombia Cycling. We did a fully customizable training camp out of an amazing town outside of Medellin. Tomas and his team were eager to share their country, making the trip especially impactful given the experiences Tomas has had in local government. This was our first time doing any kind of guided vacation and it completely changed my opinion of doing a guided trip. It was the perfect balance of feeling free to explore on our own time, getting in the exact rides that we wanted to get in, and experiencing the best of the local culture. You will eat only the best food on these tours! We felt 100% safe and left the trip inspired by the resilience of the Colombian people who have so much more to offer beyond the nation’s tumultuous history and "unsafe" reputation. We can't wait to return for another tour!

I wanted to write to you about my amazing experience with Colombia cycles. Wow! What a great experience…it’s my first time to Colombia and I sacrifice a lot to come on the trip and seperate from my wife and three kids for some downtime.
From the moment I arrived things have been amazing and very smooth!
Marcela the gifts you come up with were all spot on and amazing and things I really wanted!
Juan your intense passion for Colombia and cycling make you a pleasure to be around! Nothing was ever too much trouble and you are a rock star guide and just a great guy to be around to thank you so much!
In terms of highlights I would say the cabanas in Concepcion and farmer meals..
My overall experience was A+ and I will be recommending to all my friends to cancel their Europe trips and come and experience the amazing Colombia cycling tour you all should be proud of the business and impact you are having on people’s lives both locally abs tourists ❤️🙏

My husband and I did a 7 day Coffee Region tour. I can’t even begin to tell you how great it was!! If you are even considering this, you MUST!! The guides were excellent, every detail was well planned, the rides were challenging, the scenery was off the hook, the friends we made we won’t forget, and the whole experience was incredible. We never felt unsafe, and I was pleased we were not expected to follow a lot of guidelines. We were free to ride our ride, but always with guides and SAG around for to support us.

Colombia Cycling was truly a trip of a lifetime and I could not recommend it more! It is the perfect combination of cultural emersion, gastronomical delight, time in nature, and athletics.
Marce and Tomás were the most incredible hosts and took care of *everything*! They are a one of a kind pair -- filled with love, thoughtfulness, creativity, a deep knowledge about / passion for Colombia, and style! They go above and beyond in every way (Tomás even let me use his beautiful new bike), invest in the broader community (using their business as a way to drive opportunity for smaller entrepreneurs / nonprofits), and have an unparalleled ability to find the most incredible hidden gems (like an Italian couple making incredible brick oven pizzas in their home in the mountains or private waterfalls above coffee plantations). Helmets off to them and their amazing team <3
I brought my mom on this trip and we cannot wait to come back with more friends and family!

Lauren, beautiful people like you and your mom remind us that despite the difficult times due to Covid, sharing with human beings that fill our hearts as you and making friends around the world is the adventure we decided to live as a company. Thank you for your words, for that good description, for sharing your experience so that many more people can enjoy an unforgettable cycling vacation in Colombia. We hope to see you soon again. I had probably the best 8 days of cycling I’ve ever had in my life with the wonderful team at Colombia Cycling. Everything about the tour was perfect. The communication before I left the UK was prompt and effective and Tomas and Marcella were keen to ensure that the trip I came on met my needs. There was no group tour in the dates I was available and so I got a private tour instead for the same price, which was incredible. The locations we cycled to throughout Antioquia were stunning, the accommodation was first class, the equipment provided was top quality and the food we ate was all delicious. Juan and Tomas shared tips on how to be a better cyclist throughout the trip and I have improved immeasurably. Most of all though, I have discovered a deeper love of cycling and a love for Colombia that will never leave. Thank you so much Colombia Cycling

Sometimes the universe sends us to far away places. From Australia I travelled 38 hours to Colombia with no plans other than to cycle. A google search from my airbnb in Poblado revealed a welcoming website; Columbia cycling. Immediately Tomas was accommodating and put up with my 5000 questions. He was able to satisfy all of my requests for a 6 day ride starting the next day!!! I also had the tour all to myself, which at first felt disappointing were it not for the amazingness of my guide Juan who made it joyful, challenging and fun.
Each day was an exploration of new horizons, awesome hills, sunny skies, incredible passionate people, lots of coffee, hidden gems, little rivers, happy cows, gorgeous accommodation and a sense of always feeling blessed.
I loved my trip and would highly recommend Colombia Cycling.

What an incredible two and a half weeks! The pre-trip guidance, the personal airport pickup and the incredible food, drink and hospitality at the awesome Colombia Cycling house were just the tip of the ice-berg. Tomas and and Marcela co-ordinated an amazing itinerary in the coffee and flower regions and gave me the chance to seriously improve my form with some brilliant training, mostly under Tomas' expert guidance and including the ultimate test of 3800m of climbing on Alto de Letras (just another repecho, apparently!!). Tomas even let me win a sprint ;) But the time off the bike was just as awesome... they absolutely went the extra mile to make me feel at home and part of their family and the passion with which they introduced me to their country was infectious. I got the chance to improve my dodgy Spanish and learn so much about the beauty and history of Medellin and Antioquia. Marcela's little touches here and there were genius too ... I won't give them away! All in all, I could not have asked for more from the trip and can't wait to go back soon. Love you guys!
