I never imagined hiking like this so close to the city. The trail was just for us. Totally quiet. You can only hear nature. Beautiful waterfalls, native and pine forests.

Diana was a great guide and led us through an awesome experience. She speaks great english which was very helpful for the experience. My friends and I enjoy challenging hikes and the 3-waterfall hike was the perfect level of difficulty to keep us engaged and get the heart pumping. She brought us on trails we would have never found, and even brought some local snacks for our breaks. The group pricing was fair; a little expensive by local standards but great value. We got all kinds of information about the local flora and fauna, easy transportation, and a 4+ hour hike with some beautiful scenery

My daughter (age 15) and I had an amazing time on this trip. Diana was our guide and was exceptional. Her family has roots in that area, and she's familiar with the flora, fauna, and local customs. We stayed overnight in two different homes along the way and had lunch in a third. They were all very hospitable, welcoming, and clean. The food was excellent, and they prepared vegetarian food for my daughter. All the homes had running water and electricity, and the tour is a nice way to support the local economy. The hike was relatively mellow the first day, somewhat challenging the second, and a true workout the third day. The path in some areas has slippery rocks, especially the last day. The views were amazing, and we were in roadless areas the whole time. I highly recommend this trip if you are somewhat physically fit and have an adventurous spirit.

The Tour Guide Diana is gem of a person. She took care of me as a family member. She has immense knowledge about nature. She explained the things with so much ease.

I booked a guided tour with Erwin. It was an amazing hike through thick the jungle just outside Medellin. Erwin was very knowledgeable about the trail and the unique fauna. He also adapted the hike to your skill level and it was a fitting challenge. The views were beautiful and it was all very enjoyable! Would definitely do this again !

It was an amazing and incredible experience. The view was so spontaneous, breathtaking and so much to see. We enjoyed meeting different species of plant life and animals. The family we stayed by were also incredible and welcoming. We enjoyed the food there where we felt at home. We had the best, amazing and excellent tour guide ever. This hiking/backpacking best part of my trip to Medellín and I am already planning when I can do another route. It was so much more than a guided hike: it was a unique view into life in Antioquia, Colombia through the lens of a born and raised paisa! The views, opportunities to learn about nature, and people we encountered created a rich cultural immersion showcasing all the beauty of the region. One of the best parts were the many chances to swim in the clearest and most beautiful rivers/streams I have ever seen! With Erwin Andrés, I felt like one of the most popular people in the region because everyone was so excited to see him. Getting to stay in farm houses not only provided DELICIOUS food and comfort in the middle of wilderness, but also have a unique view into life in the countryside. His knowledge of plants, animals, and history if the area was extensive, and I was given enough information to write a book. If you are looking for a unique and authentic cultural experience surrounded by some of the most beautiful and diverse nature in the world, this is the perfect trip for you! I highly recommend arranging tours with Diana of Aventura San Francisco. Her knowledge and love of life make hanging out with her a real pleasure. You will not get a touristic experience with Diana but an authentic slice of Colombian life. From the foods, drinks, transportation, and accommodations you will be immersed in the local culture. You get the full spectrum from using public transportation, sleeping on a foam mattress on the floor of a rural school, and eating large, hardy farmer’s meals to private vehicles, bedding down in a hacienda with a jacuzzi, and dining out in restaurants and cool cafes. When she says you need to be in 4 of 5 shape for a hike, she is not kidding. The hikes were challenging but I was glad I did them. Diana is also a great city guide taking us through a residence’s view of Medellin. Finally for an adrenaline rush, we had a blast zip lining, getting wet at the base of a waterfall and scaling the cliff side of the waterfall. I can’t say enough good things about Diana. Erwin is amazing! Great hiker with local knowledge of accommodations and routes. Very flexible during the trip and adjusts the day to day planing to the level of the group. This was the 2nd time I did a 4 day hike with Erwin and I will definitely do it again! Thanks again Erwin! The combination and diversity was amazing: coffee factory, wine tasting, canyoning and 2 days of long hiking was perfect for me. A cultural and adventurous activity in one!

This was an incredible experience. We had a great time with our guides. They were very professional and it was a lot of fun to go on this adventure with them. The tour through the jungle, mountains and waterfalls is really something I would recommend to the outdoor enthusiast :)

Erwin took us on an incredible 16-km hike through the forest west of Medellín. It was a short trip to arrive at the starting place and we were thrilled by the variety of plants and amazing views of the area. Erwin is very knowledgeable about nature and culture. We both speak Spanish, but he was helpful when we didn’t know words. His English is excellent is you need the tour in English. Highly recommended!
