About
Our tours are known for telling the truth, with real statistics and facts, and not being biased in any kind of way, we love to talk about the whole history of Colombia including the parts that we should be embarrased of, but that´s the only way our travelers can have a deeper understanding of our history, why everything happened in the past, why our conflict degenerated to a level never seen before and comprehend better the reasons why we transformed.

Amazing experience
Nov. 2021 • Friends
Our time in Medellin was absolutely amazing. The city itself it’s beautiful with a vibrant night life and culture.
We had the opportunity to take tours with The Andes Adventures and we are so glad we did! Daniel is a charismatic guide with a vast knowledge around Colombia’s history and geography. I would definitely use their services again and highly recommend you do the same!

An Exceptional Experience
Oct. 2021
I utilized The Andes Adventure for three separate tours on a recent trip to Medellin, and I can't say enough about their service and the experiences. Daniel guided me on tours to Comuna 13 and Guatape. Carlos took me on a tour to Jardin (including a visit to a coffee plantation). Both Daniel and Carlos are outgoing and friendly individuals, and they made me feel instantly comfortable during my respective tours with them. They both, additionally, have a tremendous breadth of knowledge about these regions of Colombia, and as a result I learned a lot. On future trips to Colombia I will definitely utilize their services for additional tours.

Great time with Daniel in one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen ☀️
It was a great experience with Daniel.

Just from the few mesages we exchanged even before we met face to face, I knew he was very informative, helpful and friendly.

He picked us up from the hotel on time.

First, he showed us a place where Pablo Escobar, with few here and there stories about him and his family, was shot.

Afterwards we went to Comuna 13.

It was a great experience to see vibrant community with so much history at the same time. We tried some local food and local beer.

The view from up was breathtaking.

And as a cherry on the cake, we went to town, where we had great coffees at the square of its old town.

On the way home, we also stopped at the beautiful waterfall.

Overall it was an amazing trip.

We are in LOVE with Colombia 🇨🇴
The Andes Adventure Tours are what made our trip to Colombia go from great to absolutely incredible. We have fallen in love with this country and it’s people, and seeing it through the immersive experiences provided by these tours has left us with the desire to return again to learn and see even more. Daniel, as well as his other guides, is an excellent tour guide with extensive knowledge that provides for a one-of-a-kind tour through the eyes of someone with a true passion for showing others the beauty and complexities of Colombia. As soon as you meet him, you will feel like you have known him your whole life. We did 3 tours over the course of 3 days, and we plan to visit again and experience even more! Here are more detailed reviews of each tour we did:

Comuna 13 Tour: This tour started with a visit to a local, authentic restaurant where we ate Bandeja Paisa, a signature Colombian dish. We then headed over to Comuna 13, where we were met by a local graffiti and hip-hop artist that guided us through the area and gave us an in-depth explanation of the different art murals and history of the area. We were joined by some local children who walked and talked with us, kids that were students of tour guide who teaches at the local arts school. The comuna is filled with culture and art, and you can see local hip-hop artists performing on just about every corner. You could feel the sense of community, love, and fighting spirit of the people everywhere you went. The view from this comuna is one that isn’t done justice with photos. Overall, this was probably our favorite tour.

El Retiro and Tequendamita Tour: Our tour guide was Carlos, who we instantly connected with and felt that we had been friends for years. We started out by driving up the mountains to El Retiro. This beautiful and quaint little town high up in the mountains has fresh and perfect weather. The town has a unique charm that makes you feel like you are walking through a movie. We then drove to Tequendamita, a waterfall with a surrounding garden. This waterfall was absolutely beautiful and we took tons of photos of it. After that, we stopped at a local family owned restaurant to eat fresh arepas, morcilla, chicharron, and tamales. At the end of our tour, we purchased some coffee from our guide whose family owned the farm where the beans were grown. Overall, we loved this tour and were very happy. I recommend doing this tour during the week, as our guide said the area gets pretty busy in town on the weekend.

Pablo Garcia Tour: My husband loves watching any and all things related to Pablo Escobar, including his love for the Netflix Series, Narcos. Daniel guided us through this tour as we visited Pablo’s gravesite, the location where he died, one of the houses that he owned, now a museum, with a more detailed guided tour, as well as important historical locations made to honor the victims of narco trafficking. Daniel provided in-depth and objective retellings of the how Pablo changed the history of Colombia forever with the troubles that affected not only Colombia, but the world. Even though this tour didn’t have as much of the incredible scenic views like the other two, this was definitely one where we learned the most and we left with a much broader understanding of Colombia’s history.

If you are planning to visit Colombia, do NOT hesitate to book Andes. Their tours book up quickly, and it is easy to see why. We plan to return and do the Guatape tour because we didn’t have time to do it during our time there.

Thank you Daniel, Carlos, and Andes Adventures for an incredible experience we won’t ever forget!

Jul. 2021 • Family
Daniel was an amazing tour guide. We went on 2 separate tours with him. One to Guatape, and one to Comuna 13. We loved both of them. He knew everything there was to know about Medellin. Daniel made us feel so comfortable. It felt like we knew him for years! If we had more time we would of done other tours with him.

Wow talk about V.I.P. treatment!
Daniel is an amazing tour guide! So passionate and so much love for his country, especially the city of Medillin!
He was very knowledgeable, resourceful and very thoughtful!
My family and I had a phenomenal time! We were so amazed with the transformation and infrastructure in Comuna 13. Experiencing the cable car, metro, escalator and taxi was so much fun! Doing what the locals do!
A trip out to Guatape to climb the rock is a must do! After that my son wanted to go fishing, so Daniel made a phone call and viola! They got on a boat and my son caught a bass and a mojarra fish! We scheduled 3 different tours and Daniel treated us to local flavors of each tour/town we visited.
Hiking to Arenales waterfall was so beautiful! Be sure to wear aqua shoes! The terrain was a little rockie, muddie and wet! We climbed large rock infrastructures and grabbed onto tree roots and pretty much whatever we could. The location of the waterfall was still in the city yet in the mountains away from the hustle and bustle. We can’t wait to come back!
Be sure to book your tour with The Andes Adventures! You will not be disappointed!
Best wishes to you Daniel!

Awesome tour guide!
Daniel, was an excellent tour guide! He knew his history and was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited. He’s such a great tour guide and person in general, book with Daniel you will not regret it. Visit Medellin, beautiful country, beautiful and friendly people. We were also able to book with Daniel to pick us up from the airport and he took us to some beautiful places and to get lunch before taking us to our hotel to check in. It was great!

Guatape and Comuna 13 tour
Apr. 2021 • Family
We did both the Comuna 13 tour and the Guatape tour.
Daniel is a marvelous guide that never stops showing his love for his country. He made us love and experience the essence of Colombia in just a couple of days with his history knowledge of the country and his amazing sense of humour. His English is phenomenal (which is a rare thing in Colombia) and also was very helpful with my disabled brother in many occasions,in order to experience the full tour.
We will be back in Colombia in a few months and we will definitely give him a call to visit other parts of this beautiful country.
