      Great Escobar tour in English
Excellent instruction on the real history of the pre, during and post Escobar time. Visited the house where he was killed, the neighborhood he built up, the cemetery and the memorial wall. The guide knew his stuff and explained in excellent English what happened around all the time periods involved. A lot of what we know (as westerners) has been partly Hollywood-ified so it was nice to get an actual account of how people on the ground saw everything. Also a lot of explanation around the family members and where they ended up. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.

A tour that skipped a highlight without good reasons
The tour wasn’t as expected. We choosed the 2pm timeslot and this is probably too late for the tour. First we visited Barrio Pablo Escobar where we had a great local guide who was well rooted in the history. After Barrio we visited the Inflection Park, the memorial place for the Narcos victims. We had a huge change in journey we booked, as we did not visited La Catedral for some “climate reasons”. We did not understand and we were offered to visit another Pablo Escobar museum which would cost 100 mil Colombian pesos extra, which we rejected. After leaving the place of the other museum, we talked about the cemetery and the grave and we thought that would be the next step on our journey, as it was officially on the list. Our guide explained that we move to the house were Pablo Escobar died. I was wondering why we moved to the north of Medellin, when the cemetery is in the south. Our guide explained that we visit that place after. So we went with huge traffic into the north, to the house were we did not see too much and after again to the south with huge traffic, to the cemetery, were we visited the grave when it was already dark. I don’t understand, why the tour was changed that way and one place like La Catedral was skipped. I think we were more than two hours for the south north south movements on the road. Finally we visited two places in the list, one place in the dark, and an important place on the list was skipped and we were offered to visit another place for extra money. As an excuse for the experience our guide droves us at to the restaurant we announced, so that we finally saved some time at the end of the tour. I cannot recommend the tour and I will ask for at least a half refund for this tour. Probably take an Uber for four hours and visit the places on your own.

Long tour that has ups and downs
Johnny was our guide. He was on time and was a great driver and had a very clean and new car. He had some interesting perspectives having lived through that time and knowing people involved in it. The Cathedral part of the tour was a big miss for us. It was very far away, and there isn't much to see there. Perhaps if it wasnt cloudy the view would have been worth it. The 2pm start wasn't great. Traffic was horrendous and we spent most of the time in the car. Of the 5 hours about 4 were spent in traffic. Johnny mentioned he doesn't do the tour at this time and it's usually much faster. Unfortunately we weren't given a choice in time. Not really any chances for food along the way either, though Johnny did offer to stop by a market on the way back to our place if we wanted. While it was interesting to see, it was a big time sink to take photos of places that have changed wildly since Escobars time.

Most complete Pablo Escobar tour with a great guide
A great tour with most important stops regarding Pablo Escobars life, including: the prision that he constructed, house where he was killed by the police, graveyard where he is burried and neighborhood constructed by him. Most imporantly you will see the "inflection point" monument which is dedicated to 46000 victims of his terror including assassinations, murders and bombings. Our guide had a great knowledge about his life and had answers to all our questions. We highly recommend this tour to someone who wants to see all aspects and all sides of Pablo Escobar story.

Great and personalized way to see the whole city!
This tour was awesome. Best thing we did in Medellin. We got to see so much of the city! Our tour guide Yeison was incredibly informative and provided us with tons of historical information on the city, it's buildings, and the trials and tribulations the people of Medellín have gone through to get to where they are today. We we're super impressed with Yeison's honesty and personal touch that he added to the experience. Also, the e-bikes we're in super good condition and we're easy to operate. 5 star tour!

      A must
DO IT!!!! It was worth every dollar ❤️🇨🇴 I really enjoy my tour with Jorge. He was very nice and showed us around. If you are interested in history or crime stories like me you would love this tour. I had the tour with my brother and he really enjoyed the stories. The tour guide also gave us some coffee and food. We went around Pablo Escobar neighborhoods and enjoy the people.

The tour itself was brilliant. We felt incredibly safe, everyone was so kind and we freely took photos. We learnt a lot about the sad history of the Commune and how things are slowly improving. Understanding the graffiti was brilliant, so many important messages. We met the tour guides grandmother who kindly offered some home-made lemonade whilst we learnt about her personal history.

The only part we weren’t keen on was the ending. We had taken the bus to the Commune with the guide (cost included in tour). Upon finishing in the Commune, we were told we had to make our own way back to the bus stop alone and pay for our own bus back. We couldn’t remember where we had got off the bus or where we needed to get off. It felt a little unorganised at the end. In future, the guide could at least walk the group back to the group back to the bus stop and show them the way.

Alex was an amazing tour guide. There’s some amazing artwork along the tour with lots of rich history behind every piece of graffiti you see. I’m glad I took this your. I learned a lot. This tour will take you the highest point of the homes along the mountains. I recommend the 430pm tour so you can see how beautiful the lights span across the city

We had a fun, educational and active afternoon in Comuna 13 with our guide, Jeaneth. She shared all the history of the Comuna with our teenagers who were eager to learn about it. She also shared her personal experience being a longtime resident of the neighborhood which added a very special and authentic touch to our tour. Recommend taking comfortable walking shoes and pesos in small denominations for contributions to all the artists who perform for tourists along the way. There was excellent break dancing, improvised freestyling “trova”, art, urban music, stops to eat freshly made empanadas and drink micheladas. We even had tshirts customized on the spot. It started pouring during our tour but that didnt dampen our spirits - we bought ponchos and kept going. Highly recommend this tour!

Very good tour. Our tour guide Janeth was excellent She gave us the background/ history of la comuna 13. I did the tour in Spanish since I was with family . She took us up to la comuna (which is a little of a workout, but only until you reach the electric stairs) unfortunately my aunt didn’t make it up to the electric stairs . But she was able to stay in the lower part at a cafe while we finished the tour.

We also visited her family business where we had small apps (empanaditas and tostones with hogao, delicious!) you can also purchase micheladas . I recommend the coffee michelada it was soooo good ! After we went farther up to la comuna where you see much more beautiful graffiti and lots of vendors . The place is filled with cool bars and shops . The view up there is breathtaking!!!!

Despite all the people (bc it was very packed, I also went on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of December Im sure that’s high season) and la comuna13 having fame for being insecure I never felt unsafe. Of course you should always be aware of your belongings and never keep your guard down (no matter where your traveling too) . I took my phone out , took pictures with out a problem . Remember they basically live off tourism . So the last thing they want is for us to feel uncomfortable.

At the end of the tour you’re free to continue enjoying la comuna 13 on your own . Janeth as nice enough to explain to me how to get to el metrocable (another must if your Medellin) there’s a small green city bus that passes right in front of the store where you started the tour (it’s 1,500 pesos.) That bus takes you to the metro station of San Javier and there you can catch the metrocable (3,000 pesos)

Overall the tour is great if it’s your first time visiting . Your tour guide will explain the history of la comuna 13 and will show you how to get around . I definitely will be back to venture out on my own

Oh ! Almost forgot about the delicious mango paleta we got at the end:) don’t skip out on it

I also want to thank Janeth for having so much patience with my party . My aunts aren’t an easy bunch to please lol

This was an amazing experience. My tour guide Jeaneth shared her story and what is was like in the past and how they are trying to shine a new light on the community. We had various points where we stopped and took pictures. She also showed us her Michelada spot which is to the right when you come off the escalators. They were sooo delicious. On the tour we were able to see many different forms of art such as graffiti, free styling, and dancing. If you’re unsure of whether to book this tour I recommend you do. It’s so worth it and getting there is easy through the metro. I went as a solo traveler and I was able to meet other people doing the same.
If you do get there early to the meet up spot by metro I recommend you take the cable car ride up to the last spot and take some pictures. The view is lovely. I think the round trip for the cable car ride was like 40 mins. And you can make it back in time for your tour.

I enjoyed this opportunity to visit and learn about Comuna 13. Our guide Edwin was engaging, kind, and knowledgeable. He and his brother were very attentive to the group, making sure everyone was present at each step of the tour on a busy day. One of my favorite things was watching an awesome dance performance group with front-row viewing, as well as learning about the history of the area. There were also little shopping opportunities throughout the trip; I recommend bringing some cash to tip performers and buy some art or souvenirs. I would recommend this tour. I might even do it again since it was a lot to take in at one time! :)

Take this tour!!! Our guides were Julio and Jeremy and they were fantastic. They’re locals and you could hear their passion as they described the history of their neighborhood. The area is touristy (be prepared to be taken into various shops) but that’s part of the fascinating history of a community that used to be incredibly dangerous and then used art and now tourism to take back control and become a safer space. Our tour lasted 4 hours but our guide asked us if it was ok to take longer before we started and we all gladly said yes. Finally, highly recommend taking the 4:30 tour because then you get to see the city lights twinkling at night. Thank you so much!!!

This tour was awesome we had Alex and he was the best guide as he is from the area and well known and liked by the locals. Literally people of all ages were speaking, handshaking, high fiving and hugging him as we went along the tour it was like he was a local celebrity! He was very knowledgable and the part that I appreciated the most was that he was open an honest about Communa's history: the good, the bad, and the ugly. He did not sugar coat the past but provided us with the insight to appreciate the thriving culture and resilience of the community today. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Medellin as it will make you feel more connected vs. just a tourist. As far as Visit Medellin Tours, please give Alex a raise or promotion he deserves it!

On a walking tour with two guides (one Colombian and one Resident of the Communa) felt safe, well informed, inspired and welcome. Once the most dangerous communa in Medellin now a major tourist attraction. Stairs, cobblestone, Escalators and helpful people make this a must see destination inside this city.
