We had a great day with Lulu on our private tour of Tongli and Luzhi Water towns. We appreciated being picked up earlier at 8am from our hotel and made it to Tongli by 8:30am. For us the key rationale of having an early start was to avoid large crowds of busy tourists to experience the beauty of reflection of these ancient water towns. The timing was great as we got to experience walking around and taking a canal ride before the majority of tourists and school tours arrived. We had been to the Humble Administrators Garden the day before and it was just so crowded which marred the visit. We enjoyed Tongli Water town more as it was more picturesque and had a deeper sense of history. It was pleasure to see glimpses of people going about their daily life. Lulu was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and personable. She fitted in with our requests and took some great photos of us. We also had a wonderful lunch which met our needs very well. After having been traveling through China during the past 20 days and having worked with a multitude of guides, this one has been the only bad experience. First of all, we felt like there was not much information shared by the guide (Lulu) and sometimes information was given that was inaccurate. During a big part of the tour it felt like the guide’s focus was on showing us establishments of her choice where we could shop even though we were clearly not interested. After lunch at a place she recommended (which we did not particularly enjoy), we agreed to go for tea at a center she recommended. Once we arrived, the guide did not know where the center was and we had to walk around until a man came to pick us up. It turned out to be a business owned by some friend of hers with exorbitant prices. It was not a tourist place of any kind nor did it have any historical value. The space was deserted. We indicated to the guide our dissatisfaction and she apologized repeatedly and told us it was her first visit there. After four hours of touring, at approximately 2pm, having gone through all the sites on the itinerary except for the silk museum, we decided to end the tour with the guide early and continue on our own. The guide understood our point of view and respected that we did not want to continue with the service. The city is very beautiful and visitable without any tour or guide and we feel like it is unacceptable that they charge more than 100€ per person WITHOUT including any entrance fee (only for guide and driver). All the tours we have previously booked in five other cities in China have been cheaper considering the price of consumption in each region and have provided a much more professional service. We are very disappointed and would completely not recommend the tour.

We had a great time. It was the perfect way to experience Wuzhen. Wuzhen was a beautiful water town. The driver was professional and the car was new A great value.

I enjoyed the tour with Lulu. She was very knowledgeable and conducted the tour so that it was very relaxing. She also provided options to do what I was most interested in. The transfer to and from the hotel was on time and very comfortable. Tongli was beautiful and there is so much history there to see. I loved the boat ride!

Well organised before leaving, nothing seemed to be a hassle to Sunny. Lulu our guide was waiting in Suzhou and immediately made suggestions and scheduling. Zhouzhuang is amazing and Lulu an expert at explaining stories and history. Our driver always around as needed. Fantastic day spent.

It was our first time to Suzhou and Lulu was an excellent guide. We visited Tongli water town in the morning and enjoyed a very pleasant boat ride through the canals. Lulu provided us with a lot of interesting historical information, and gave us many great suggestions for places to eat and special Suzhou gifts to bring home. We spent the afternoon at a beautiful Chinese garden and then relaxed with a cup of tea at a wonderful Pipa music show. Thanks very much Lulu for also helping us find the perfect souvenir - a fan with Chinese calligraphy of a special and personal poem. A very memorable day; we will treasure this for a long time!

The tour is overpriced, they charge 443$ for a group of 5 for a city tour which we could have done ourselves for much much cheaper. We thought this tour is to zhouzhuang and other areas, that’s why we booked it but it turned out to be a city tour only. They should have named it flexible suzhou CITY TOUR instead of suzhou flexible private day tour. The name is misleading to start with. The included lunch was NOT great, the food was not tasty and the owner of the tour even got angry with us after the bad review saying the lunch was expensive. We’ve been travelling in China and we know the price and the lunch wasn’t worth that much. Save yourself hundreds of dollars and explore the city by yourself. The tour is NOT worth it.

The views were amazing! I took so many photos and so many amazing memories and views which will leave a print in my heart. Sunny Tours made my trip smooth and easy! They provided top-notch service- not only replying to my speedy requests, but also providing me with ideas and constantly checking if I needed further assistance. Tongli is a beautiful old town. It was well explained on all the attractions. Lulu has good knowledge on Suzhou and recommended many Suzhou local produce. We visited hangshang temple as we have some time left. Overall good experience and would recommend friends to book with Sunny Tours.

The tour was executed as plan and everything was punctual. The knowledge and explanation from Sunny was excellent. Will use them again.

Lulu was amazing and made the trip interesting even for the teenagers. It was our first time in Suzhou and with only a day in the city we still managed to see the top sights and get a feel of the city in such a way that it enjoyable. That fact it was snowing just made it all the more memorable.

My family and I had a tour with Sunny Journey Tours in which we had a flexible day trip around Suzhou and Zhouzhang Water Town. We set it up the night before using our WeChat app which made it very easy to coordinate with Sunny. The next morning, we were picked up at our hotel by a driver who was very courteous and patient. We met our tour guide, Lulu, at the first site who was helpful and informative about the sites around Suzhou and Zhouzhang Water Town. We recommend this tour operator and tour guide. Do not pass up the Humble Administrator's Garden which is a marvel. The only advice we would give when booking is to devise your own list of recommended sites to offer to the guide so that you and the guide can negotiate between what's on your bucket list and some of the less known historical or cultural sites in and around Suzhou. It's a flexible trip but it takes time to get around the city. That means you need to be clear about whether you are more interested in history and Suzhou cuisine or you also want to spend time engaging with local merchants.

It was a beautiful tour, taking in the canals, temples and gardens of old Suzhou on a lovely Autumn day. My guide, Lulu, was knowledgeable and charming as well as open and flexible. She hosted an excellent lunch, providing warm company. I can certainly recommend.

We had a great day with Lulu! We really liked Tongli water-town. So authentic! Suzhou garden is also really a must see. Great lunch as well (tip: do not order too much). If you stay at least 4 days in Shanghai, I recommend to book 1 day to Suzhou.

Great sites to see, and a very attentive guide. A bit of pressure to buy things, but I'm a pushover on that type of thing.
