PRIVATE WALKING TOUR OF SPLIT WITH THE DIOCLETIAN'S PALACE

Explore, discover and really get-to-knOw the Old Town of Split with all the delightful little secrets and anecdotes of this gorgeous Mediterranean city.

We kick-off in style with the magnificent Diocletian's Palace in the heart of the Old Town and travel back to the ancient Roman Empire. We take a step into the rich cultural heritage of this vibrant city with its numerous palaces, quirky narrow streets and lively markets.

Learn more about this UNESCO World Heritage site while taking a relaxing walk through the streets, squares and the grandiose Diocletian's Palace.

As we stroll further along, hear stories of not only the past, but equally contemporary Split. Really absorb what makes this atmospheric and exciting city kick. Discover how the city's inhabitants lead a feel-good outdoor lifestyle throughout the year spending time at numerous squares, or on the main waterfront Riva.
What to Expect
Itinerary:
Riva - the main waterfront is our meeting point and the place where we start our tour. From there we enter the substructures of The Diocletian's Palace through the southern gate. The substructures recently got really popular since quite a lot of scenes from GOT were filmed here.
The first part of our tour includes the exploration of the iconic Diocletian's palace: Substructures, Peristyle Square, Vestibule, Cathedral, Jupiter's Temple and the crypt of Saint Lucy. The cathedral of saint Domnius used to be the mausoleum of emperor Diocletian so it is the oldest cathedral in the world. It goes way back to the 3rd century.
During our time together you will learn how this vibrant city developed from the palace and how this palace differs from any other you have seen!
The tour includes stops at handmade Croatian chocolate shop, the famous food market, Gregory of Nin statue, the  main "piazza" first mentioned in the 13th century, Fruit Square and beautiful Neo-Renaissance Prokurative Square.
Join me on the tour and see what others miss! I will be delighted to share my knowledge and love I have for my hometown.
