Join us for a very special evening. Located at a scenic outdoor location you will enjoy scrumptiously tasting fish fish prepared the local way and accompanied with a range of seasonal island dishes. See how we make the most of our home grown produce and enjoy paddock to plate freshness. Be entertained throughout the evening by a singer and island dancers whose singing and dancing will set the tone for an evening of fun and relaxation. If inclement weather we will move to an alternate venue. This is a perfect pre-show dinner before heading on to 1856 - The Untold Story.

          Enjoyable
A good experience and very enlightening to see where so many great books were written by this amazing lady. Rebecca, Colleen and Ric's housekeeper, shared many interesting anecdotes about Colleen and the beautiful and unusual decor of the home.

          A wonderful experience
A brilliant night! A great way to meet other travellers, enjoy amazing food and listen to stories from islanders. A highlight of our stay and recommended to everyone (maybe not young children!) Hosts were warm and welcoming and a pleasure to listen to.

          Tour through Bunti Tours
It was great to look at Colleen's house but a bit expensive. Would of liked to have had time to walk around the extensive gardens but tour time was limited.

          Do not do this tour
I wish I could write a positive review about fish fry but not one thing was positive It was an absolute joke The lady who was the host was SO rude and unfriendly We were squished into tables and could not move , couldn’t get out to get our food, couldn’t see the performers…. We were the last people “allowed “ to get our food, and I heard them say “we don’t have enough food left, we can’t give thtm very much” $90 and I went home hungry! Thr Tahitian dancers… pathetic, couldn’t see because so dark and we couldn’t turn to earth them No tea or coffee ….. To top it off, my mother who is not able bodied , we had to get to our car and it was pitch dark and uneven ground I can give an honest review as I have done the Pinetree tour fish fry and I would give that 100% Baunti tours fish fry I would give 0% Not one positive experience

Norfolk Island history presented with a touch of humor and a good dinner.
A wonderful evening. The two commandants and Miss Clair Voiant kept us entertained as they told us about their past in the 1800's and threw in a few jokes to add to the already happy evening. Soup, roast pork & vegies with pasta & rice and finished with sticky date pudding & ice-cream was a most enjoyable dinner. The venue was pleasant with adequate room for the actors to move around the tables and sit with the audience. If you love Norfolk Island history, a few smutty jokes and a good meal then it's a must. I enjoyed the evening.

          Great selection of tours
I actually did several tours with this group, but I wasn’t given the option to choose various. The staff, from drivers to office staff are all good. Each time I was with them for a tour, I couldn’t fault the great knowledge and assistance. Only one disappointment was when I was dropped at my accommodation from the airport. The driver wouldn’t drive into the property, so I had to awkwardly get my luggage up an incline. But as far as tours go, they were very good. The Convicts tour is perfect to learn the history of the island.

Vegetarian catered for - local food
I enjoyed listening to the personal stories of the locals and appreciated learning some of their personal history and allowing us to have a peek into their lives. We requested vegetarian food and this was catered for without hesitation. Duration was 2 hours yet it flew by as we travelled to three peoples homes who were gracious enough to answer all our questions about their lives on Norfolk - Medicare, to the roaming cows on the streets, and chickens that walked freely- all our questions answered. One was a whaler in his younger years, pne was a volunteer ambulance medic and the last lived on Pitcairn island - all had intriguing and unique stories to share. The dinner table that we sat at for the main was stunning - a slice of Norfolk Island pine big enough to seat 30 people The food was homemade, so don’t expect gourmet restaurant food, but it was made with care and love. Entree was a hearty vegetable soup, main was lentils with mash potato with beans/peas and dessert was a delicious chocolate and coconut slice

          Very disappointed
Very disappointed with our experience in dealing with Baunti Escapes. Due to a miscommunication that the dates were changed for one of our tours we missed the bus and their attitude was pretty much too bad go back to your travel agent. Then on the fish fry we chose to sit at the end of the table so my mum could easily get in and out only to be told (quite rudely) to shift so a group of six could sit there. There were six seats on the other side of us they could have accessed. We couldn’t see the dancing girls due to the table positions. The music was good, the bus driver friendly that is pretty much the only good thing

          Love that honey. Great tour
The highlight was the bee man who was so knowledgeable and passionate about his subject. Could have listened to him all day and of course the honey was delicious. The tea tasting was lovely and the initiative shown by that young man was impressive. The stories of the salt lady were fascinating

          So interesting.
This tour was a complete surprise! Never having read a Colleen McCulloch book, I tagged along with my wife who was very keen. It turned out to be a most interesting morning, with an interesting drive out to the property and then a most personal and informative look into the house and the life of the famous writer. Our guide, Rebecca, having worked with McCulloch for many years, was a veritable mine of information and the exquisite furnishings, art and artefacts in the house was incredible. Definitely recommend this tour!

          Tour of Colleen's home
Lovely home in idyllic surrounds. Welcomed by Rebecca and shown through many rooms; so many pieces collected by Colleen over the years are on display. Absolutely loved the 'fernery' - would love to sit there & chat to Colleen with a cuppa !

          Great Intro to Norfolk Island
9/10 for the Tour Guide on Tuesday am 7 Feb. Pick up from hotel and drop off were punctual. Knowledge as a local about local matters was excellent and general banter with the passengers was positive and uplifting. Driving skills were excellent. My only negative comment, as a person who has been on many tours in a number of countries, is that no name tag was worn by the guide. Yes, he introduced himself, but as part of a small group of other people I didn’t know, I am lucky to remember my own name!

          Worth it
Excellent informative tour lasting around 3 hours focusing on Kingston. Our tour guide Rachel was courteous, answering all our questions and did not rush us through an itinerary. Offering water to guests would be an improvement. Highly recommended

Better than expected. The fish was fresh and excellent quality with thin batter. Salads were good as well with some Pacifica dishes also offered for variety. The venue is covered but open air. The local musician gave a pleasant musical backdrop with some interesting stories about his family of Pitcairners. This was followed by a hula dance ensemble of young women from the island. All in all a pleasant experience.

Unfortunately the weather was not the best for this event. However we were not impressed by the meal. We got 2 small pieces of fish and salads, such as you could get anywhere else. Mine was okay but my partners was cold and dried out. Sure you could go back for seconds. The dessert was a coconut custard pie, not very appealing. No chips.
The highlight of the evening was the singer. Otherwise I would not recommend it. Perhaps I was prejudiced as I had attended a fish fry years previously which was far better.

Enjoyed the food & show but unfortunately the weather had turn bad and the outdoor dining experience which was a major part of this whole experience had to be cancelled which was an unfortunate disappointment for us but obviously no fault of Baunti Tours which kept us up to date on whether it was going ahead outdoors or indoors.
Baunti Tours did supply us with an excellent orientation tour of the island on our first day of our stay on Norfolk Island, very happy.
