About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- TCtravels20150 contributionsAmazing trip to the Balkans with Limitless BalkanOur group of six used Limitless Balkan for our October 2024 tour of of Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Montenegro. Aleksandar was our tour coordinator, general guide and driver throughout our 15 day tour. For specific city tours, Aleksandar set up local experts for each location, and I have to say, they were all excellent. I read a number of the reviews by people/groups who used Limitless Balkan prior to my trip. I agree with everyone's comments about how great their trip was and that Limitless Balkan (Aleksandar) is a great travel agency. I couldn't agree more with these 5 Star reviews. We looked at and contacted a number of tour agencies (large and small). We found Limitless Balkan (Aleksandar) on Tripadvisor and contacted them. Aleksandar responded quickly and suggested a video conference to discuss and refine our plans. During the video conference, he made quite a few suggestions on sights and cities to see and the daily itinerary to make it more time efficient. We found Aleksandar to be very knowledgeable and seem to have a lot of experience (this was confirmed throughout our tour), and very important to us, we felt very comfortable with him. Our group preferred to see natural scenery (national parks, waterfalls, gorges, mountains, etc.), but also wanted to see some ancient structures/wonders. While we didn't mind seeing a few churches and museums, they were not our preference. Aleksandar designed an itinerary that was perfect for us.. While we did visit a few of the more popular old churches and museums, the time we spent at these sights were up to us. If you are interested in churches and museums, I'm sure Aleksandar can design an itinerary to fit your preferences. That is the beauty of going with Limitless Balkan. The tour itself was amazing and the whole trip was seamless. All the sights were breathtaking. This was my third trip to Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Montenegro, but first to Slovenia. I had been to Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, etc., so it was very nice to see some of the parks and small cities too. We visited Plitvice and Krka National Parks for the waterfalls and easy hiking/walks. One interesting stop in Croatia was the Ston area which is world famous for it's oysters. Most of us said we were not that enamored with raw oysters or mussels (cooked), but Ston oysters and mussels were so tasty, we ate everything. Slovenia's scenery is beautiful and reminded me of Switzerland, very green and lots of mountains. Lake Bled, Solteska Vintgar Gorge and Predjama Castle were amazing. Montenegro's Durmitor National Park is beautiful with it's mountainous landscape. We saw many other spectacular sights, but too numerous to list here. What makes any trip even more incredible are the people you interact with, including your tour coordinator/guide/driver, city tour guides, etc. For our trip, Aleksandar was incredible. He was very organized, suggested many of the sights and stops on our itinerary, booked us in very nice hotels, made restaurant suggestions for meals, made us feel comfortable/safe, and it felt like he was one of the family. He provided a lot of information about the places we visited, kept us entertained with great conversation, lots of laughs joking about many things, and an excellent choice of music during the drives between locations. Everyone in our group felt that this was one our most enjoyable trips among many we have made around the world. Aleksandar and his crew of guides are some of the best I've ever experienced. I would highly recommend Limitless Balkan (Aleksandar) should you decide to visit the Balkans.Written 5 November 2024
- harryc2020 contributions2 week Limitless Balkan private tourWe (family of 6) began planning a 2-week trip to Croatia at the beginning of the 2024. We wanted to travel in October. We looked at the tours of several major tour companies, but we did not find one that met our requirements. Either the groups were too large or they did not have an itinerary that was satisfactory for us. So, we decided that we would try a local, private tour company. We were a little apprehensive about this, because all we knew about the firms were what we saw in their reviews. We made our decision based on their ratings review and by comparing some of the standard itineraries listed on their websites. We contacted 3 firms, one of which was Balkan Unlimited. They were the only company to respond to our inquiry. Aleksander, the owner of the company, suggested that we have a video meeting to talk and discuss our plans with him. During the meeting we had a chance to explain what we wanted to see and the time frame we had in mind. He listened and made suggestions, then told us he would get back to us with a prospective itinerary. The video meeting helped us feel more at ease with our decision to use a local tour group. Having a chance to meet and see him made it much better than just dealing with an impersonal website. The tour was excellent. From our discussion, Aleksander created an itinerary that exceeded our expectations. We visited Slovenia, Bosnia, Montenegro and Croatia. Aleksander, was with us during the entire tour. He was our driver and he handled all the day to day logistics, so the tour went off without a hitch. The local tour guides were all very friendly, knowledgeable and spoke English very well. We learned a lot about the history of the region and about the current local culture. We visited 4 national parks to see some of the natural scenic wonders of the area. We were able to experience a wide variety of food and drinks from the recommendations given by Aleksander and the local guides. The local oyster food experience in Ston is not to be missed. I would not hesitate to recommend Aleksander and Limitless Balkan if you are planning to visit Croatia and the Balkans area. You can tell, when you spend time with him, how much he enjoys his job and his pride in his country. After 2 weeks with Aleksander, he was not just a tour guide, but a good friend as well.Written 4 November 2024
- alexfK3786YE0 contributionsExceptional and Personalized Travel Experience Through Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro with Limitless BalkanLimitless Balkan provided a great travel experience during our September 2024 tour of Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro. This was our first visit to the Balkan region, and we were interested in making the most of our trip with a hassle-free, enjoyable experience. What Aleksandar delivered exceeded our expectations. For the entire trip, safety and convenience were superior with well-planned and attractive itineraries. The transportation and accommodations were super comfortable. Every aspect of the trip was handled with precision, egoiving us a chance to relax and enjoy the multi-day experience. Aleksandar's attention to detail was evident in the way he consistently stayed in touch, being always responsive, never intrusive and ensuring all aspects of the tour were stress-free. He stayed in touch several days after after our trip ended to make sure our trip back home was safe and convenient. One of the key features of Limitless Balkan’s service was the personalized attention we received throughout the trip. Every experience felt that was planned for according to our interests, going beyond the typical tourist routes. The local guides selected in each city were extremely knowledgeable, providing cultural and historical context, and sharing personal stories that made the destinations even more interesting. During our personal time, Aleksandar offered excellent recommendations for restaurants and other activities, helping us make the most of every moment. All in all, a wonderful and memorable experience that allowed us to enjoy and appreciate the richness of the Balkans. Definitively recommended !Written 12 October 2024
- jaysf0 contributionsA full service travel aid in CroatiaIn addition to taking this tour, we hired them to provide private transportation in between cities in Croatia and Slovenia. The guides and drivers were very nice in addition to being very punctual. The owner kept in constant contact with us to let us know ahead of time the driver or guides name and when and where would be picked up. The drivers would often suggest an additional stop, which were wonderful suggestions. I would highly recommend this business for any of your travel needs in Croatia I would recommend this organization for any travel needs in Croatia. They were very open to last-minute changes.Written 8 October 2024
- cousinrieth0 contributionsBest way to see Zagreb!Have just finished a private, half day tour of Zagreb with Aleksandar and it was absolutely fantastic. Aleks showed me all of the main sights of the city but he also took me to amazing places you would never get to see if you were on your own or on a standard walking tour. He is a friendly, knowledgable and funny guy and I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.Written 25 September 2024
- HeatherS1300 contributionsTerrific tour of ZagrebMy husband and I did a two hour private walking tour with Mario. He was outstanding! If I could give him 6 stars I would have. We began our afternoon with only a very basic understanding of Croatian history, but in our time with Mario he was able to boil down centuries of history into meaningful bites that we could then feel and see as we walked through the heart of Zagreb. He shared many interesting stories about the old and new history, culture, and traditions of the area. Mario’s English was impeccable too. The city is beautiful and full of gems to learn about. It was a fun and very enjoyable experience. I’d highly recommend visiting Zagreb and make sure to do it with Mario. It’ll be a highlight of your trip!Written 11 September 2024

- SDmunk0 contributionsIncredible tailored trip through Croatia!I started working with Alex back in May for an 8 day trip through Croatia for a family of 7 (including kids and grandparents), starting in Zagreb, a day trip to Slovenia (Ljubljana and Lake Bled), then down to Plitvice Lakes NP, Sibenik and Krka NP, Trogir to Split, Korcula, then finally a few days in Dubrovnik. Other than hitting a heat wave, which we couldn't help, the trip incredibly went without a hitch. This was due mostly to immaculate planning by the very detail-oriented Aleksandar, who was also our driver. We had a local guide (people who grew up in those spots) at each stop, who gave us very personalized tours - each was wonderful (my favorite was Frane, for Krka and Sibenik - he was also a great photographer, and he took some of our best family shots of the trip). Alex was very responsive throughout the planning period leading up to the trip. Even after long days of travel, he made the time to clean and wash the (Mercedes!) van, so each day started in an immaculately clean vehicle, replenished with new water bottles and often a sweet treat. Alex was flexible throughout the tour to accomodate requests, and made quick detours for nice photo ops, etc. The hotels that he arranged were also fantastic (favorites: Armerun in Sibenik, and Kompas in Dubrovnik). Memorable moments included taking a boat in Korcula for a private seafood meal, with oysters pulled out of the sea straight to our table, swimming/snorkeling in the crystal clear Adriatic, and marveling at the waterfalls in Plitvic Lakes and Krka National Parks. Highly, highly recommend Alex and his team - you will not be disappointed!Written 18 August 2024
- heathert2230 contributionsBrilliant tour of the beautiful lakesWe had an amazing day - the transfer from Split to the Plitvice Lakes was a beautiful scenic journey in a fabulous convertible. The guided tour around the spectacular Plitvice lakes was absolutely fantastic and exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend booking a trip with Limitless Balkan Tours - Aleksander and Nikola are excellent guides - extremely knowledgable and professional but also really fun and friendly :) Thank you so much for such an amazing trip.Written 28 July 2024
- Dream627555527230 contributionsExcellent tailored custom 5-day trip to Croatia and Slovenia based on my needsAlex worked with me to plan a 4-day trip to Zagreb, Plitvice, Rijeka and Slovenia, based on specific needs (I had to give a lecture in Rijeka) and interests in seeing as much as I could in a short period. Everything about the trip was great, and worked with my constraints in having a very short time and wanting everything to be as streamlined as possible. Alex chose great hotels, including a lovely small villa B&B in the countryside near Plitvice. My room in Ljubljana had a spectacular view of the city, perfect for my last night in the Balkans. Alex’ best choice of all was to get Mario as my guide for the entire trip (along with local guides as relevant). Mario’s knowledge, professionalism and curiosity were a great complement for my own background as a college professor, and the trip was really enjoyable because of Mario’s awareness of Balkan history and enthusiasm. All in all, a wonderful, albeit too short, introduction to Croatia and Slovenia, making me want to come back.Written 8 July 2024

- BruceMosk0 contributionsExceptional private tour of Croatia and MontenegroThanks to a friend’s recommendation, we booked a private, customized tour of Croatia and Montenegro with Alex, and it was incredible! Alex’s attention to detail made every stop special. We explored stunning places like Split, Trogir, Hvar, the Blue Cave, Dubrovnik, and Kotor Bay. Each location was perfectly tailored to our interests. Traveling in a spotless luxury car and a super comfortable speedboat to Hvar was fantastic. He introduced us to hidden gems like charming restaurants and cozy wineries, adding a unique touch to our journey. A standout moment was trying the local “fish and chips” on his suggestion. For anyone looking to explore Croatia’s best locations with some hidden treasures added, Alex’s tour is a must. Highly recommended! Thank you Alex, Bruce & NadineWritten 29 June 2024
- janlmc0 contributionsLeave the driving to Limitless BalkanThe best way to get from Zadar is to hire Limitless Balkan tours. Our driver met us where we were staying on time with cold water! His gentle nature provided a relaxing journey. He secured an amazing guide who met us at Plitvice Park. A private guide through this UNESCO park is the way to experience its natural beauty to the fullest. After exploring so many waterfalls, our driver met us and suggested we eat local veal at a restaurant near by. He had contacted the restaurant to make sure the local Peka veal was being cooked in a wood fired oven. Delicious meal. Then onto Zagreb with just the right amount of commentary. Thank you Aleksander!! You made our last day in Croatia a very special day.Written 29 June 2024
- _-meeshlou730 contributionsA fantastic personal tour by Bernadina! We had a wonderful personal tour by a local guide, Bernardina. She was extremely knowledgeable of not only the history of her city but the entire history of the surrounding countries over the past two thousand years. She kept us interested at every turn. - 524lesliev0 contributionsLimitless Balkan exceeded my expectations!Aleksandar of Limitless Balkan picked up Heather and I in Split, and on a glorious day with the top down on the convertible, we took the beautiful roads less traveled to Plitvice Lakes. There, we were met by Nikoli, who expertly guided us through the upper and lower lakes. Heather had never been to Plitvice Lakes, and she was completely WOWED! In my opinion, Plitvice Lakes is the crown jewel of Croatia. Afterward, Aleksandar drove us back to Zagreb. He secured our hotel reservation at the Astoria and even dropped us off at dinner. The next morning, another guide was waiting in the lobby to give us a walking tour of Zagreb. We were at the cannon when it went off, and although I had warned Heather, she still jumped a mile high! We ended the tour at the main square and were extraordinarily lucky to witness Baby Lasagna welcoming his fans after returning from the Eurovision contest. Rim Tim Tagi Dim! Overall, this trip could not have been any better. Aleksandar planned it from start to finish and every aspect of the trip was perfect. He answered all of my questions promptly and was just as kind as could be. I highly recommend Limitless Balkan to any explorer who wants to experience the true beauty of Croatia. Thank You Aleksandar! 🤩😎🥰Written 22 May 2024

We made a transfer from Zagreb to the city of Split, via the Plitvice Lakes National Park with Limitless Balkan. Everything was perfect, Aleksander gave us all the instructions for the paths inside the park with the most beautiful route. After the tour we continued our trip to Split with wonderful scenery.
We also used LB to take us from Split to Dubrovnik, with a stop at an excellent winery indicated by Alek. Wonderful wines. We thank Alek for this wonderful experience.

Fantastic tour. The stop off in park was a great suggestion plus we were able to stop in a small village before the park which was his suggestion. We did not want to stop for lunch, but Slex provided us with meat & bread & we had a picnic at the park! Really thoughtful unsolicited addition. It was great. Will definitely use him again if we are ever back in the area.

The worst fear of booking something online is not having them show up and taking your money. That’s exactly why I search in TripAdvisor and look for the top three. Limitless Balkans was on top for reason. They’re reliable, professional, and trustworthy. I paid for the entire trip prior to my arrival and they communicated with me every step of the way. I booked 1) Zagreb to Split via Pletvice Lakes 2) Split to Dubrovnik via Mostar 3) Dubrovnik to Kotor, Montenegro and 4) Zagreb to Dubrovnik via Pletvice Lakes for my family. While it’s more expensive than taking a bus, the price is reasonable for a private tour and transportation. Had I booked a tour online, it would have cost me 150 euro per person. If you travel in a group of 4 people or more, then I think it’s more worth it. What l like a lot of the Limitless Balkans is the fact that all their trip prices are listed online. Lastly, their drivers are excellent and their tour guides are knowledgeable. I highly recommend this company for any private transfer and tours.
