This was the reason I visited Bosnia. I only recently learned of the horror of the Srebrenica genocide. I wanted to come see it for myself. My tour guide was Asim. The amount of knowledge he has is incredible. During the drive to Srebrenica we talked about the history of the events. Once there, it was a gut wrenching experience. I actually felt sick to my stomach to think what people had to endure. And the fact is, there are still 1,000 people who have yet to be found, identified and buried. Please add this tour to your itinerary while in Bosnia. It's a most-visit. We need to share the story of what happened here with as many people as possible so the world knows, and doesn't forget, what happened in Srebrenica.

Essential tour for visitors to Bosnia and Herzegovina
Feb. 2020
This is an excellent tour for learning more about Srebrenica, the Genocide, and Bosnian history as a whole. Our guide was Edin and he was very informative, pleasant and helpful. He answered all our questions, and his knowledge of history is formidable. The cemetery, museum and memorial centre are all well worth visiting, and this tour is the best way to do it. Pick up and drop off are super easy and the sandwiches provided were filling and tasty. Highly recommended - we'll be checking out this group's other tours in Sarajevo!

It was a overwhelming experience!

I visited the memorial for my researches on the Genozide.
It was so difficult to stay calm.
I still don’t really know what to feel.
Anger. Sadness. Even happiness for my peaceful childhood.
The speech of Mr. Hasanovic made me so cry!
It so unbelievable what happened infront of the whole worlds eye!
My guide also was such a nice person who gave me a lot of background information on our way to Srebrenica.
It really worth it to go there! Every single second is worth it!!
I recommend everyone, who visits Bosnia to go there and make your own opinion on this brutuality.
I thank Info Bosnie for this great opportunity!

A very moving and informative experience
Guide Mustafa was skilled in giving the historical background and context to the terrible events at Sebrenica. The museum is good, but it helps to have someone knowledgeable explain things and to answer questions.

A “sacred place” visited with the right people/guide
Srebrenica is an "sacred place", travertine should visit once in life.
Our guide Jasmin today was great.
Very reliable and good story telling. Very balanced to explained what has happened: with necessary background, without exceeding and simplifying.
We are very grateful with you all.

Heart wrenching
I'm so glad we booked this tour, I think its a must when visiting Bosnia. Our tour guide Samir was extremely knowledgable in the history of the country and was able to explain how a multi ethnic nation went from living comparatively peacefully with each other to this horrific act of genocide. The museum tour was extremely emotional and very well planned. We then finished off our day with a visit to Grandma Fatima's house just outside Srebrenica, we learnt first hand what life was like during the war and were treated to some lovely traditional home cooked food. I would definitely reccomend this tour to anyone visiting Bosnia as its important to pay our respects to those who were murdered under such horrific circumstances.

Sarajevo and Srebrenica
Nov. 2019 • Couples
Our Guide Mustafa (Info Bosnia Tours) took us on a Journey to a dark chapter in history (maassacre of Srebrenica and the siege of sarajevo). His report about the time during the war that he witnessed in Sarajevo made history more comprehensible and livlier than in any historybook. In the exhibition (UN Base in potocari) he let us time to look and read but also explained further connections... Absolutely recommendable

The best trip
This is probably one of the best trips I have ever done! Our tour guide Samir was absolutely amazing, probably one of the best tour guides we have ever had! He provided in depth background information in respects to Bosnian history as well as events leading up to the Srebrenica genocide. This tour in particular was extremely emotional, however Samir had it comfortable enough that we could ask questions in order to get better perspective. I would definitely book this tour again, it is the most worthwhile trip we took.

We learned so much
Oct. 2019
It is was a heartbreaking part of our history that I learned so much more about. The huge number of people massacred, the horrific "cover-up" of moving the bodies, and the incomprehensible actions of the UN commander really hit home on this tour. HAving the tour guide be a former Bosnian Soldier during the war also lent additional insights especially the fact that their Army was integrated (Bosniaks, Bosnian Croats and Bosnian Serbs) fighting together to preserve Bosnia. I would totally recommend everyone take this tour.

A Day of Reflection and Remembrance
Oct. 2019
We began the tour, booked with Info Bosnia, with our driver/guide Ahmed who drove us through the hillside forests and scenic farmland east of Sarajevo until we realized that we had arrived in the area, suddenly seeing the thin white pillars marking the graves of the over 8,000 victims on the hillside within the cemetery. In a quiet room on-site, Ahmed told us the story of the events of July, 1995 in conjunction with the background of the "Homeland War." As we traversed the rows, looking at individual graves, we observed the "green marked" ones containing the remains of those found within the last year.

Next, we visited the Museum, a multi-storied property where we were able to complete a visit to the first two floors, that told the stories of the victims, perpetrators and international support at that time. We viewed a 30-minute film in the auditorium with in-depth footage of the actual genocide (obviously taken as propaganda of the Serbian troops), highlighting individual stories of what occurred. We were privileged to then have an interview with the Director, Hasam Hasanovic who although a survivor himself, chose to answer questions from the group of tourists on the issues that they wished to discuss. For the next hour, the discussion focused on why the response and lack of justice took so long. One tour guide who was also a survivor, gave an emotional and emotive reflection on his experience as well. We then toured the Memorial, set up in the actual factory occupied by the Dutch troops tasked with keeping the peace in the area. Here we learned about the efforts of the Mothers of Srebrenica to get redress and international acknowledgement in the years since the massacre. There were also exhibits of items found in the mass graves, with photos of each victim and short biographies. One wall displayed photos of all the famous people who came to the memorial including Bill Clinton who fostered the Dayton Accord, ending the war. Our last stop was to the town of Srebrenica from whence the population fled to the security of the international forces, where we observed the war damage to some properties and the strange juxtaposition of a church and a mosque on the same square.

Ahmed told us that this is the most challenging tour he does, given the memories of having lived through that time. Would I recommend this tour to other tourists? I will answer by saying that back in Sarajevo, when we told locals that we took this visit, they thanked us profusely for doing so, some with tears in their eyes.
