Not a museum! Only a tourist trap chocolate store
Should no longer be called a museum, it is NOT a museum! It is only a store! I was so excited to visit a chocolate museum randomly here. When I saw the sign I wanted to get a tour. I entered the store first & no one was there until a lady followed. I asked for a tour & she said “No, this is only a store.” I was upset & decided not to be down & at least buy a chocolate to cheer me up. I have a feeling she did not care to inform me of any workshops or events. So I left unhappy & want to make sure the owner is aware of this through my review. I give it 2 stars for the 70% orange peel chocolates that were mediocre but not exceptional. I do not recommend coming here for any reason at all though.

      Nice activity for kids
Very nice people teaching kids how to pour chocolate into tablets. for reasonable price kids can do it themselves and take the chocolate bars with them at the end. They explain the process of the cacao from start to end, and also have a little shop with many good products. You need aprox 1 hr availability for the activity.

      Love the ChocoMuseo!
Such a fun and delicious store - offering many free samples as well! Some unique products too. For vegans or those with a dairy intolerance they do have a nice selection of chocolate things without milk! MUST TRY THE CACAO BEAN TEA...and then you will want to purchase many bags to bring home and share with your family!

      Great place for Chocolates!
Stopped by the ChocoMuseo after shopping at the local market across from it. They had a wide selection of chocolates and various flavors. We ended up buying a bunch of chocolates. Sadly chocolates never last long. Totally worth the visit.

We enjoyed the chocolate samples, and then ordered a brownie with ice cream to share. Everything was delicious!

      Great fun for families
We loved making chocolate here. Brilliant Liset gave us a very informative but easy to understand history of chocolate and where it comes from then we filled moulds with delicious chocolate which we got to take home 45 minutes later. The cafe is yummy too. The chocolate making workshop was a welcome break from Incan history and trekking for the kids on this trip and a highlight for us all. Recommended!

      It's not a museum - it's a small chocolate store!
I was super excited to go to this "Chocolate Museum" and even put it into our itinerary with our taxi driver. Yeah.....not a museum, not impressive, not worth a stop unless you want to grab a quick chocolate bar. Maybe people like that they give you samples.....free samples are always fun. But it's still just a small chocolate shop and kind of like a chain like Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory or Sees Candies (but not as nice). Thought we were missing something so went into the back room and there's a wall with photos of the chocolate producing process. There's also a courtyard with maybe 2 small tables to order a coffee. Wouldn't go out of your way to make a stop.

Crazy good passion fruit for ice cream
Chocolate is delish and they let you sample some before purchasing. We stopped for an ice cream treat and were blown away by the passion fruit flavor with chocolate dripped over. Will be back.

Expensive chain - not worth your time
There are several Choco museums throughout Peru, and they are all nothing more than expensive tourist traps. The brownie we had was not very good, though tasting the various free samples was fun. There are a lot better chocolate tours to take in Peru - don't bother with theirs.

      Not much to this
Interesting, but not a museum. They do have some very basic chocolate making classes available. Nice inexpensive chocolate dishes.

      Chocolate making with kids
Tasty organic chocolate samples. Our 8 year old signed up for the chocolate making class. He enjoyed it well enough, but parents thought it could’ve been less basic, especially for the price. Simply pouring liquid chocolate into molds and sprinkling sugary bits and pieces on the top, isn’t what I call a chocolate making workshop.

      Very small museum
Two minutes to walk around the museum. It was free so not an issue. There was nice tea and coffees. Set below the ruins.

We had the best time here today. We did the bean to bar workshop and the lady who ran this was lovely and really good fun. We were able to try out our basic Spanish and she did the session in English for us. We had a lot of fun and would highly recommend this if you like chocolate! We were able to pick up our chocolates 30 minutes after the class finished.

My wife and I had an amazing time. We loved learning the history of the chocolate, and really making our own, "bean to bar" sums up the experience perfectly! We loved doing the workshop in Ollantaytambo, where we were able to easily walk to the workshop, and there were so many dinner options afterwards. We also liked getting to try the hot chocolate and cocoa bean tea, there was so much more than "just" making your own chocolate. The gift shop was also an amazing spot for us to pick up gifts for people!
