          Amazing cooking class
We attended George's cooking class right before leaving Peru, and we were incredibly happy with the experience. George accommodated our vegetarian friends excellently, explained how to go about making each dish and provided us with cultural context on the creation of the dishes as well. Overall, the class has increased my appreciation for Peruvian cuisine, and has added a few new dishes to my standard set.

Giuliano was amazing! He was a great teacher and entertaining. I’m vegetarian, and he was accommodating. I made mushroom ceviche, and it tasted so good. It was a 4 hour experience, so well worth the money.

Best cooking class I’ve ever taken. So much fun and he served mahi-mahi. My son who ordinarily dislikes fish thought it was the best fish he’s ever had. The fun factor is off the charts and I am so glad we took this class.

          Excellent and delicious experience
I had a fantastic experience at this Peruvian cooking class! We made two delicious traditional dishes—causa and ceviche—along with a refreshing pisco sour. Chef George was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, sharing not only step-by-step instructions but also the history and cultural significance behind each dish. His passion for Peruvian cuisine really came through, making the class both educational and enjoyable. On top of that, George provided tons of great recommendations for restaurants and local food spots, which was an added bonus. I’d highly recommend taking this class at the start of your trip—it’s a great way to learn about Peruvian cuisine and get tips that will enhance your entire visit.

We had an amazing time with my husband taking the tour for the Peruvian market as well as learning how to do some traditional Peruvian plates! Camila was amazing and super knowledgeable about the market and took us for a walk from the market to the restaurant, where Giuliano took it out of the park teaching us how do causa, pisco sours and ceviche! They where both personal and super fun to be around, definitely recommend this class and tour to any one who is staying in Lima!

My wife and I signed up for the Market tour and Cooking class through Luchito's when we were in Lima last week. We had a very interesting visit to the market with Camilla and she told us about the various sections of the market and the kinds of fruits, vegetables, meat and fish that we could find there. We got to sample many fruits while at the market and had time to wander around. Camilla watched out for us and made sure we weren't targetted as foreigners.

For the actual cooking class, we went back to a restaurant and Guiliano taught us to make Causa, Pisco Sours and Ceviche. It was a good class and we all made foods that tasted and looked very good. We then had a toast with Guiliano at the end. He kept track of all of our names and food preferences and allergies. He did a great job and was a lot of fun.

Camille was our market guide and Lucho was our cooking class teacher. They were both wonderful, friendly, and very insightful. They spoke fluent English and introduced us to lots of Peruvian food culture.

During the market tour, we learned so much about different fruits. We love the lucuma juice with milk. Faba (Pacay fruit) is so special to Peru and we wouldn't have tried it on our own. Camille also share a lot of local daily culture of Lima. The tour lasted about 1 hour and we walked through Miraflores main street to get to the cooking class kitchen at Saha cocktail bar.

Lucho was our cooking class instructor. He's passionate and gave clear demonstrations of what we're supposed to do. We made a hearty appetizer called Causa. Then pisco sour, and ceviche with Lisa fish. We love all his stories and food history of the dishes. The class was approximately around 2 hours. Our class was small, just 4 people and it was very intimate with great conversations.

        Tip: come hungry!

I had a great experience at Luchito's cooking class. The day started with an hour-long stroll through the local market, where chef Camila briefly explained the variety of fruits, fish, and meats in Spanish (upon my request). The market itself wasn’t anything surprising—just a typical local market—but I did try a delicious lucuma juice there, which I highly recommend (definitely go for the milk-based version!). Also I tasted some fruits that I haven't tried before—like a cactus fruit—and some others that I, of course, don't remember the names of.

If you happen to visit the market on your own, I suggest taking some time to try the food they cook at the small diner right next to the fish section—they seemed to serve very authentic seafood dishes.

Back at the kitchen, Giuliano, another young chef, showed us how to prepare a couple of classic Peruvian dishes: chicken causa and ceviche made with fresh mahi-mahi straight from the ocean. We also made a traditional pisco sour cocktail.

Most of the ingredients were pre-prepared—boiled chicken, cooked potatoes, ready-made sauces, sugar syrup, and lime juice—so the focus was mainly on assembling and mixing everything together. If you're looking to cook everything from scratch, you'd probably need more time and some cooking skills. Plus, if you're not in Peru, it might be tricky to find key ingredients like yellow potatoes, rocoto and yellow peppers, and especially fresh fish from the nearby bay of the Pacific ocean.

What really stood out to me was realizing that Peruvian cuisine isn't about complicated cooking techniques but rather about the fresh, local ingredients that make the dishes unique and flavorful.

Camila and Giuliano were friendly and welcoming, and we had a great conversation while enjoying the food we prepared. There were only two of us students in the class, which made it feel like a private session.

Big thanks to the whole team for a fun and insightful experience. Recommend this class to anyone wanting to explore Peruvian flavors in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

If you're in Peru and looking for an unforgettable culinary experience, Camila's cooking class is an absolute must! She is hands down the best teacher ever—enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient. We had the pleasure of learning to cook authentic Peruvian dishes, including an amazing shredded chicken and potato dish (not to mention a flavorful guacamole), a fantastic ceviche that tasted like it was straight from the coast, and the perfect Pisco Sour to top it all off. Every step of the way, Camila guided us with expertise and made the experience fun and engaging. As a bonus, you leave the class with not just new skills and recipes but also a certificate and a free shaker to continue making Pisco Sours at home. It's a wonderful touch that makes the whole experience even more memorable. We highly recommend Camila’s class to anyone visiting Peru—it’s a true highlight and a great way to immerse yourself in the culture. Don't miss out!!!

I had the pleasure of being accompanied on the market tour with Camila as my guide. She was very friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable of the local produce. This was the perfect introduction for the class. I was soon welcomed by the young local chef, Giuliano. He was very passionate and supportive when explaining the dishes and the making of Pisco Sour. The dishes included Causa and Ceviche. Both were really delicious and easy to make. Photos and recipes were promptly provided via email. Keep up the great work.

Hey there!!! We had our market tour with Camilla, and then our cooking class with Giuliano!
The market tour was absolutely amazing!! Camilla, gave us tons of information on the markets, and how to select ripe fruits, she would explain relevant food history points, and compare certain fruits/veggies so we could place them and understand what would taste similar. We also were able to try a few fruits aswell such as the Platano de la Isla, Guandavana and tuna (the fruit not the fish! lol) all of which were delicious!!

Giuliano’s cooking class was awesome sauce as well! (To all you Vegetarians out there - no stress there was someone in our class and they gave out an alternative) We started off with learning how to make a causa, then a pisco sour and finished off with an amazing Maji Maji Ceviche with some Aji Lima and Aji rocoto, he also explained relevant history points, and the “origine story” of each piece! Was super informative and really interesting and engaging! My wife and I will definitely never forget this experience!! :)
Loved it!! Will definitely book again next time were in Peru again hopefully it’ll be for other food items! :)

Camila is an excellent guide! We went to the local market sampled a lot of local fruits, while I also learnt a lot about Peruvian culture. Warning: It could be a little graphic, with meat just hanging outside stores.

The cooking class is hands down a must do if you truly want an immersive Peruvian experience. It was fun listening to Camila tell us the story behind each dish we made (Cuasa, Pisca Sour, Ceviche). The mixer with which we made the Pisca Sour was a souvenir we could take home, which I thought was nice.

Overall, I would highly recommend it.

We did the market tour and cooking class. The whole experience was amazing. For the market tour, our guide was Camila who showed us around all the different stands in the market, tasting fruits and explaining a lot about the food there. Then, the cooking class was a lot of fun with Giuliano. We made Causa, a pisco sour and Ceviche. Everything was professional, well done, and a lot of fun! Would highly recommend!
