I found Peru Gran Travel agency in internet and decided to organize my trip with them, based on good opinions. I can only repeat all the good ratings. The preparation of the trip was very thorough and I had all info on time. We received full set of tickets for all the sites we were going to visit. We went by the plan and all the trips were as described. We really liked the punctuality for all the meetings and felt taken care of. The guides were professional and flexible. If I would think of anything to improve, maybe it would be good to get more information about the trips in advance (not the same day) regarding what to wear (city tours vs mountain track) as well as the conditions of the travel. For exmple, we were very afraid of the 10 hours bus drive from Cuzco to Puno, thinking this will be an old bus etc. It was a nice surprise to discover the bus was very comfortable and there were stops for interesting site seeing and for lunch.

We went on Perú Grand Travel's 8-day "Unforgettable Machu Picchu" Tour, and we are so happy we did. Every detail and transfer from the time you land at the Cusco airport to the moment you leave to go home was perfectly coordinated by their staff. We didn't have to worry about anything. The night we arrived in Cusco, one of their team members came to our hotel to brief us on the trip and give us a neatly organized packet with all of our tickets stapled in the order we would need them. The attention to detail was superb! And this removed any stress we would have had if we'd coordinated everything ourselves. All of their tour guides were locals who were very experienced, knowledgeable, personable, and up to date on the latest findings in Andean archeology and history. They were always on time and everything went seamlessly. This is not one of those fifty-tourists-wearing-matching-shirts on a bus tours. Everything felt small and personalized, making for an intimate and unique experience. Christian was our main point person throughout our time in Cusco, and he regularly checked in to see how we were doing and to update us on our upcoming activities, so we always knew where we needed to be and at what time. Whenever we sent him a message, he responded immediately and was so helpful and friendly. In fact, if it weren't for Christian, we would not have made it to Machu Picchu. The day before we were supposed to go, my partner had a medical emergency. He was getting better, but we knew that we were going to miss the bus, and therefore, the connecting train to Machu Picchu. The train company's policy didn't allow us to change our departure time, so we would have had to buy new tickets (around $250 apiece) if we missed it. Once we realized we would miss the bus, Christian miraculously arranged for us to get a private car to the train station, and we caught our train! Honestly, he saved the day for us. We never could have figured out how to arrange this on our own given how preoccupied we were with the medical situation. Christian solved the problem quickly and compassionately, and we will forever be grateful to him for getting us to Machu Picchu! If you are considering traveling to Perú for the first time, I strongly recommend going with Perú Grand Travel. They know what they're doing and they do it very well, and they know how to handle things even when something unexpected happens. We hope to travel with them again in the future to some of the sites we couldn't squeeze into this trip.

The visit to Machu Picchu was the climax of our trip and was absolutely breathtaking. The tour company did a great job of coordinating all the transfers it took for us to get there (bus, train, hotel, bus), and Christian in particular worked a miracle to make sure we got there on time after a medical crisis made us miss our scheduled bus. The tour guide Roger skillfully explained the history of the site, while also giving us some space to take it in and to take pictures. I only wish we had had more time to just marvel at the beauty of the site and the mountains in the distance. What else can I say? If you have the chance to visit Machu Picchu, do it!
