A ride into the deep of the jungle
We went on a seven-day tour to the reserved zone of Manu National Park. Our guide Edson was knowledgeable and passionate about nature. He shared lots of information about the wildlife and planned the day to our wishes. He also gave us an insight about the local communities in Manu. The wildlife was impressive! We saw black and white caimans and giant otters in their natural habitat. Walking through the jungle, we enjoyed the rich flora including the giant trees. The colorful macaws and parrots were a highlight as well as seeing the national bird. We also saw different kinds of monkeys like capuchins, howlers, and spider monkeys. The only point to consider is the long ride by car and boat to get deep into the jungle, but it's worth it for the experience. I recommend this tour for anyone interested in nature and wildlife.

Amazing Experience w/ Excellent Food & Guide
Our 3D2N trip to Manu Culture Park was one of the highlights of our time in Peru. Our guide was José Merida, who is a great guy. A biologist by profession, he was able to answer a ton of our questions and you could tell he knew this area of the jungle intimately. The food was also some of the best we ate in Peru. Hats off to Barbie and Frida - excellent cooks! The accommodation was basic, but clean and comfortable. Perfect for the time we spent at the lodges. Also, something I will remember for the rest of my life is relaxing and reading my book while chilling with a tapir 😁 The only negative thing I can say is I wish we'd stayed longer. We really want to do the extended tour next time.

Best guide and tour operator for Manu.
We had a super experience in Manu, our guide was the best, Jose Medina, he was a real expert and never rest until we found a jaguar that was the best moment, the royal crown. Also Expediciones Vilca was the best decision we made, their team and infrastructure were incredible. I cant forget to mention the food, wonderful. Real professionals. Highly recommended.

        Loved it!
Our trip was wonderful! It was a great experience. Our tour guide, Jose Medina, was very helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks to him, we had a great time on our trip. We look forward to rebooking with them. Among the highlights were the drivers' punctuality. Lodges are clean and well maintained. I appreciated the flexibility offered when we wanted to stop and the customization we received to make our stay more enjoyable. In addition, he is very fluent in English, which provided us with a great deal of comfort.

        El Manu -4 Days
I was in El Manu National Reserve towards the end of October. We were travelling in a small group of 3 people. It was a unique experience, we were able to observe many birds and some animals. What I liked most were the monkeys and the tapir. Our guide Edson was experienced and was able to give us a lot of information about the jungle and the animals. The food and the organisation of the trip were also very good.

        Unforgettable experience
We did the 5-day tour with Edson. It was one of the best experiences of my entire life. The activities were all different and incredible, mixing hiking, watching and discovering. Every worker from Expediciones Vilca was available for us and particularly helpful. In addition, the guide, Edson, was knowledgeable and pedagogue. He transmits the right values about the jungle and really understands his environment. We'll never forget him, he's an excellent person in addition to his qualities as a guide.

It was an truly amazing experience with our guide Edson. We had 5 beautiful days with lots of activities, like bird-watching, walks, swimming in the river. We saw many animals as well. We stayed in really nice lodges, we ate really good food as well. Thank you Edson and all the team for this experience.

Expensive by booking on TripAdvisor and bad guide for girls
The trip is cheaper when you book it in Cusco. It is about 100 euros cheaper. Then the trip, we had guide Marco which is a terrible man. He filmed girls when showering in their cabins and changing their clothes. We spotted him doing this and also one of the girls whom he was filming caught him when is was recording. Besides of this experience the national part is great and the overall organization is good with good cabins in de Amazone.

Great guide that made this tour something special. Ask for Edson if you take this tour.
Our guide, Edson was amazing. Very good English-speaking skills and tremendous knowledge of the tropical Flora and Fana. He was always enthusiastic to show us everything he knew about the Peruvian rainforest. We also have nothing but compliments for the driver, cook, and everyone else involved in the tour. Conditions at the lodges were simple but clean and comfortable. The food was outstanding for a rainforest tour. The drive from Cusco was thrilling with many stops along the way to visit archeological sites and the opportunity to see the the changing landscape from the Andes, to the cloud forest, to the Amazon basin. During the tour we saw dozens of waterfalls as well as a great cross-section of the tropical flora, including many orchids, bromeliads and tons of aroids. We had the opportunity to see plenty of animal life including thousands of parrots, many species of hummingbird, several species of primate, snakes, tapir, and much more.

        Amazing experience, amazing memories!
It was a truly amazing experience. I went on a 5 day and 4 nights tour. Manu is a breathtaking place. You get to see the higher cloud forest and then a lower jungle and all the transition zones. Overall, the experience was amazing. The best part for me was our guide. We were lucky to have Jose with us. He is a biologist and knew so much about the flora and fauna and made every little detail come alive. He was very enthusiastic. Make sure your guide is good because your experience will depend on it. The food was acceptable. It was not the best. It really depends who is the cook on your trip. There are many different cooks and i suggest you do your due dilligence before going on this trip. 2 tips to make it better: -Ask who is the guide -Ask about the cook -If you can, dont do 4 or even 5 days, do the 7 day tour that allows you to actually go inside the protected reserve. Ask your guide about it before buying the experience. Bring good binoculars if you can, dont be cheap because it's really worth it! Thank you José (our guide) for an amazing experience. I totally recommend this experiece!

This was definitely one of the best experiences of our lives! 100% recommendation for Adventure Souls who loves nature.

Our excitement for this trip was definitely so great thanks to our guide Edson, who has some kind of magical animal hunting power ;)

His experience and living in harmony with nature was really very inspiring, he was always on the watch and thanks to him, we had the opportunity to see a lot of different animals and plants in such a short period of time. He always answered our questions with pleasure and was very helpful and it was obvious that he is very experienced and educated in this field.

It is very important to have a friendly and good guide on such a trip and Edson fulfilled this for us more than 100%. If we have a chance to go again, we will definitely choose Edson as a guide.

The whole trip was super organized, we were just a small group of people, the food was really fantastic, whether it was prepared for the road or at the accommodation. The rooms were simple, clean, the bed had a mosquito net. At the beginning of the trip we also got rubber boots, which we appreciated a lot.

Thank you very much for this unforgettable and incredibly wonderful experience!

I travelled solo to Peru earlier this month (Nov 2023) and did a 4 day tour of Manu. It was absolutely amazing. My guide, Edson, was knowledgeable and passionate about the National Park which translated to really enjoyable trip. Coming from a big city, I rarely get to experience the beauty of nature at that magnitude but was able to see it thanks to this tour.

We experienced Manú in 4d/3n with our excellent guide Mr. Esau. Esau speaks fluent english, is super enthousiastic about the nature and wildlife in the park and always listens to your requests. Additionally, Esau knows a lot about the history and the biological background of the animals and the park.

Besides the guide, the food was superb and the lodges were good.

During the tour there are lots of possibilities to explore the park, which can range from challenging hikes to relaxing boat trips on the lake. Together with the guide you can decide what activities fit you best.

My boyfriend and I did a 4-day tour with Vilca Expeditions and it was incredible! Definitely once in a lifetime experience. Our tour guide Esau grew up in a jungle and was extremely passionate about nature. He was able to spot so many tiny birds, insects, animals, etc.
We did a lot of hiking, boating, swimming, fishing, etc.
Our cook somehow was able to make delicious food in the middle of the jungle.
We absolutely recommend this tour, it's worth every penny spent.

From beginning to end this trip exceeded all my expectations. Our tour guide was Alci, and she is the woman who runs this area of the jungle. I trust her with my life. She is so knowledgeable, hilarious and does so much work to help preserve the area. She will always keep you on your toes with stories and information. She pointed out every animal, every plant, every bug and can give you the whole history and information on it! I learned so much in a short amount of time. If you want to learn she’s your woman!

The trip itself is pretty strenuous. You’re taking every opportunity to hike and see as much as possible, but what you see is stunning! You are definitely never bored.

You have a van driver, a boat driver, a chef and a guide at all times. All coordinated perfectly. Every single person was extremely kind. The food… phenomenal! You don’t have to worry about any meal and every single dish was to die for!

Take the time to do this trip. The first and last days are a lot of driving but they do a great job with stopping, teaching and doing small hikes.

      10/10 worth every second

We visited Manu Nationalpark for four days. Our guide was Edson, who is really passioned in his job a funny guy, very experienced and really took care of everyones individual situation!

On our way to Manu we already got to know so many things. The food was always fresh and good, water was clean. The accommodations arent luxury. But hey, they were clean and the beds comfortable.

We did hikes at the lake, in the djungle, at night and during pouring rain. Edson always managed to spot new animals and knows everything about them. Also about plants as he grew up in the mountains/djungle. He even collected some mushrooms that were served in the evening.

I really can recommend the trip!

Lodges are clean and well-kept. There was no hot water but we didn’t mind it as the weather was hot and humid. Food is delicious. Jose is a passionate and knowledgeable tour guide and was able to spot wildlife even in cloudy/rainy weather. We couldn’t see clay licks but swimming and fishing with Natura the resident tapir made up for it. The vibe of the tour is very chill with lots of free time, which I appreciated after finishing the Salkantay trek right before. Overall a memorable experience and I wish I had chosen a longer tour for more chance to see wildlife.

We did a 4 day jungle tour with Esau which I would highly highly recommend! He brought us to incredible places in the jungle in which we saw exotic wildlife such as birds (tucans), frogs, snakes, mammals (capybara), and so on. He was extremely knowledgeable on all species in the jungle and made sure we were all safe and having fun.

Manu is a beautiful, remote, lush rainforest and is definitely a MUST for your Peru trip :) I would say it’s a hidden gem and is a bit less touristy compared to Puerto Maldonado.
