About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Departure478696528250 contributionsGreat, multi-site, excursion. The trip was not strenuous, and was very enjoyable. The 2 workshops we visited were really nice and we ended up buying some Alpaca clothing and Silver jewelry. We upgraded our meal option and had lunch are a beautiful restaurant. It had a beautiful garden along the river and had 3 llamas as well.Written 24 March 2025

- Paradise009034955250 contributionsNice tourIt was a nice tour. Kind of hard the altitude but it's okay, it's interesting the landscape and history or the places. I would recommend itWritten 13 March 2025
- cmskrs0 contributionsSacred Valley daytrpThis was a good day other than we were picked up at 6 25 and spent the next 35 minutes driving around Cusco until 7 00 collecting other passengers. A central meeting spot awhere everyone meets at the same time as per the drop off would be preferable.Written 11 March 2025

From day one of booking and then having to reschedule right thro to the tour itself the whole team have been nothing but supportive, responsive, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Its been an absolute pleasure to have met and communicated with such a professional Company. Thank you.Written 7 February 2025
- saracR7904JF0 contributionsUnforgettable Experience at Rainbow Mountain!Visiting Rainbow Mountain was an incredible adventure! The colors of the mountain made the challenging hike absolutely worth it. Our guide was knowledgeable and supportive, ensuring we acclimatized properly and took breaks when needed. The high altitude was tough, but the stunning views at the top were beyond rewarding. Seeing the vibrant layers of the mountain in person was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Highly recommend this tour for nature lovers and adventure seekers!Written 2 February 2025

- Gabriel Z0 contributionsAmazingIt was amazing and everything was done for us. The agency took care of us from the first moment. Her assistant Ari was waiting for us at the hotel reception to give us all the information and tickets we needed for the tours, she also gave some tips for our staying in Cusco. We really appreciate this as foreigners visiting this town for first time. We are grateful their arrangements and for the exceptional hospitality. I would highly recommend the agency.Written 31 January 2025
- 649arim0 contributionsAmazing Exeprience, ideal for exploring a lot of places in a dayWe had an amazing experience! Our guide, Dante, was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Peru, the Incas, and the Quechua language. We visited so many incredible places, making this tour perfect for maximizing a single day. Ari, the coordinator, was extremely helpful and a pleasure to talk to. She was attentive to our needs and made us feel confident and comfortable from the very start. Highly recommended!”Written 27 January 2025
- C8307PUkatieg0 contributionsAwesome trip! 5 starsTrip was amazing. Our agent, Nixon, was really good with the correspondence both before and during the tour. Accomodation at Emmanuel Inn was very nice, more like a hotel than a hostel. Dinner was a three course meal where you could chose form a selection of Peruvian food and breakfast sufficient. The ride over on the minivan itself was slightly uncomfortable due to land slides and heat but it was also budget friendly. If you have it in the budget would probably recommend taking the train, but minivan also doable as well, just make sure you’re not sitting in the back of the van! Also good to note, that (for us anyway) you have to carry your bags up from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu peak, so pack light. However there is also an option to take a shuttle bus up, if packing light isn’t your thing.Written 26 January 2025
- Leslie T0 contributionsHighly Recommend when transportation can be relied onThis tour is an absolute MUST! We took the face pace tour of 7 sights and it was great! WOW, WOW! The company could easily charge more and still be well worth it! Now for the bad news, pick up and drop off ended up being a lousy ending to a great tour. Changed our pick up place and time 4 times just before the tour. Pick up finally worked out, but on the return, the driver did not stop at our drop off. He drove way down to the other side of town, dropped off 5 tourists and told us to get off. I refused as this was not our drop off. It would have taken us at least an hour, uphill, to reach our lodging. Our tour guide, whose English suddenly declined, contacted tour company and agreed to pay a taxi for us home. Bad ending to a great day. Make sure you get your transportation organized with them first, keep records and enjoy the tour.Written 21 January 2025
- GeorgeJ18290 contributionsA Calming Trip Across Sacred ValleyThe best part of this tour was that had an option of a late morning or an early morning. For someone like me who had just returned from the physically demanding Two Day Inca Trail to Machu Pichu, this was a boon. The trip was guided by Mr Wilson who had the art of giving us the right quantum of knowledge of each location suitably packaged with their histories. Since My wife and I were the only English speakers in the group which were all Spanish otherwise he had to juggle between both languages. However, at no point did we feel left out. He took us along like a master juggler with absolute professionalism. So thanks to him too. The places were appropriate with right allocation of time. The decision to take us to a traditional jewellery and also a wool production processing place were absolutely immersing as it was a treat to see how traditional handicrafts work. The vehicle was excellent and the buffet lunch provided was exceptional and we were spoiled for choices! ThanksWritten 19 January 2025
- Sunshine140360844290 contributionsMachu Picchu 2 days Train TourThis 2 day tour by bus & Train was well organised and I was given the best support. I had issues with my flight to Cusco which was delayed by 12 hours. Nixon was able to reshuffle my itenuary & I was back on my original tour. He also kept me updated with the next steps & checking ✔️ if I was all good. I was able to contact him anytime & he resolved my queries in a timely manner. The overnight accommodation was close to the station. Clean, comfortable & breakfast was provided. They ensured my stay was comfortable & stressfree. The tour guide Raul was fantastic, knowledgeable & very friendly. He made our 2 hours in Machu Picchu fun & encouraged us to walk at a slow pace so we can get to enjoy the amazing views and not tire ourselves. If you are after a hassle free tour, look no further. I highly recommend Nixon & his team👌 👍Written 15 January 2025
- Tasha C0 contributionsExceptional tour with personalized service. This was an outstanding experience! Nixon and his team went above and beyond to take care of my small group during this two-day adventure. We traveled in the comfort of a private bus, which made the journey even more relaxing and enjoyable. At every stop, we were met with friendly escorts who ensured everything ran seamlessly. One of the highlights was a bucket list experience on the Vistadome PeruRail—truly a breathtaking way to take in the stunning landscapes. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Machu Picchu. The attention to detail and level of care were exceptional. I also really appreciated Nixon being available via WhatsApp to answer a couple of questions while we were exploring Machu Picchu—it made the experience extra special!Written 9 January 2025

Our Salkantay Trek with Mega Expedition was nothing short of spectacular. The trail offered breathtaking views each day, making the trek truly memorable. Nixon, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and kind, providing us with valuable insights into the trek and local culture.
The food was diverse and delicious, far exceeding our expectations. After long days of hiking, the places where we stayed were amazing—comfortably set up with everything ready for us to rest and recharge. This thoughtful preparation made a significant difference in our overall experience.
We originally signed up just for the Salkantay Trek, but after seeing how great everything was, we decided to book a city tour with Nixon as well. The tour gave us a fantastic look at Cusco’s history and culture. Mega Expedition was super responsive throughout the planning process, making everything go smoothly. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and highly recommend them for both trekking and cultural tours!

We did the Inka Trail Alternative with Mega Expeditions and had a great albeit physically challenging time.
The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the hike on the Inka trail itself. The scenery was breathtaking, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Our guides, Gustavo and Henrry, did a fantastic job, demonstrating deep knowledge and genuine passion for their work.
From the booking to the hike itself, we felt very well taken care of by Mega Expeditions thanks to excellent communication and organization. The coordination during the hikes was impeccable, with everyone knowing exactly where they needed to be and what to do. Hats off to the team for their hard work and seamless execution, making our journey truly memorable.

The effort put in to this experience is amazing. Jay (his Knick name) our guide was so patient with a range of abilities and towards the end changes in scheduling. The food was plentiful and healthy and yummy. My only complaint was that having an egg allergy meant I missed out on protein as replacement for breakfast was fried plantain and something with protein would have been good and at dinner the opportunity for an extra piece of meat. Otherwise the variety left enough choice for me. It’s a challenging trek but the group was lovely and our guide was very aware of our safety at all times. Overall a challenging but beautiful experience.

10/10 experience doing the 5 day salkantay trek. I booked with Megaexpeditions and Nixon helped out so much with the logistics of the trip, called me prior and prepared me very well for what to expect/ what to bring. René was our guide during the trek and he absolutely killed it, provided lots of insight into the history of the Incas as well as local herbs and local history. Such an amazing experience even with it being during the rainy season.

It was an amazing Trekking, the truth is that we expected much less and in the end we got to know parts and towns of Peru that we would not have done otherwise.
Carlos was sublime, both for the meetings we had before booking the tour, and for worrying throughout the trip that we were well and everything was going smoothly.
I recommend a little training before doing it, as well as being moderately equipped (two backpacks, boots, poles, etc.) in the end you are walking between 3000 and 4500 meters and you cannot take it lightly.

We had an amazing experience with Mega Expeditions. We booked the Salkantay Trek for a great price online, and received a zoom call with Nixon beforehand which was really helpful for packing and organising. We then met out guide, Fidel, the night before our trek to go over a few things. Fidel was great and the whole experience was amazing. Would definitely recommend! The Salkantay Zipline extra is an absolute must - one of the highlights of our trip! We had a few problems with illness on our trip and Nixon was great at helping sort it out over the phone and reorganise some things to best suit us.

Great trip overall! We had a very good communication with the travel agency from the beginning on and they were able to answer most of our questions. The guides during the trip were also really great and tried their best to give us the best experience during the time of the trip. Hike and accommodations were also nice and visiting the Machu Picchu at the end of the trip was a grand finale.

My trip to Peru has been amazing beyond my expectations and I have Mega Expeditions to thank for making it such an easy and special experience! Nixon took care of me for my entire time in Cusco I did several tours with them but the best by far was the Salkantay Treck - the views were amazing and our guide Carlos was so knowledgeable and patient. I could not have asked for a better experience :)

I schedule for mega expeditions. They always answered my questions and attended to my requests.
The journey took 5 days. February is the rainy season, so the road is challenging on the way down, but every place you reach is worth it.
The meals are made to order, the portions are good and it is local food.
I feel very grateful for the service I received, the equipment and the guide.
