Our great tour towards the mountain of colors in ATVs begins with the pick up of tourists in their respective hotels from 3:15 to 3:30 am, at the first time and then travel in our tourist transport for a time of 2:40 minutes to the town of Japura (4200 meters above sea level), arriving at this place approximately 6:20 am, where our delicious breakfast buffet awaits us. after breakfast our guide will give the necessary instructions to start the great adventure in the ATVS traveling to qosqopata (4900 meters above sea level) for an average time of 1 hour and then walk for 35 minutes, a distance of 1.5 kilometers to reach the viewpoint of the impressive mountain of 7 colors (5038 meters above sea level), in mountain of colors we will have enough time to take the best photos because we are the first to reach the mountain of colors we find without the conglomeration of tourists a perfect time to take photos, shoot videos and enjoy the beauty of the colors after visiting we return for 25 minutes to the place where we leave the ATVs and then each take our ATVs and return to the town of Japura where our delicious awaits us lunch. After lunch return to Cusco arriving at the average 3:30 pm, we finish the tour in the corresponding hotels.

          Well worth it
This tour started out bumpy we had to reschedule for the following day because the driver did not pick up us the day of our tour. We were given and place and time but they never showed. Many of these tours change the time and meeting place several times and if you don’t have mobile WiFi, you won’t get the message. Travel Advisor should indicate that mobile WiFi is a requirement for all tours, otherwise, you will get irritated very quick. Now for the good stuff. The tour was great and so was our guide! Prepare yourself for a serious elevation shift as you are going up another 3000’ if you are coming from Cusco. As long as you pace yourself and take breaks, you will be fine. I’m in decent shape but I’m 56 and definitely needed the ATV. I found food in Peru to be mostly medicinally, but this tour fed you breakfast and late lunch and it was some of the best food we had! Highly recommend!

We had the peak to ourselves
Guide was kind. The ATV ride was cold at 4700m up to the peak. He offered me use of his gloves. He took a lot of photos of our group too. We chose this tour because the pick up time was 830am instead of the insane pickup times at 3am or 4 am. The crowds had left by the time we were at the peak. No jostling or queueing up to take photos. Granted it was a bit off season, we had the entire mountain to ourselves at the peak.

          Good value for money
A magical immersion into the vistas of the Rainbow Mountain Peru with Arturo our guide. he was genuinely passionate in sharing his knowledge about the place and local traditions. The views were incredibly rewarding. the best thing, we did not have to hike as we were able to get closer to the summit with our Quad Bikes. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who are willing to experience the beauty of the Rainbow Mountain without hiking a bit.

          Perfect day trip from Cusco
Just got back from the Machu Picchu tour with Arturo and it was an experience of a lifetime which was very well conducted and organised. We started with an early morning pickup from the hotel to the train station on Ollantaytambo and then to Aguas Calientes and then by bus to Machu Picchu where we had a very detailed tour of the citadel. We never felt rushed, we had plenty of time after the tour to soak in the views and see the beauty of the Incan masterpiece. We highly recommend the tour if you are short of time in Peru and want to get the most in a day.

A funfilled and informative day tour with Arturo
A trip to remember. We did this after realising the trekking would not be our thing and it was a perfect thing we did. This tour was fun and interesting in its own way Inka Explorer was very nice and the guide, Arturo was simply amazing. I can totally recommend the tour and the company, especially Arturo if you are like us - want to visit the Rainbow Mountain in an easier way.

An unmatched journey with Inka Explorer Viajes
I am verymuch thrilled to share my experience on visiting Machu Picchu on a full day trip from Cusco with Inka Explorer Viajes. The tour exceeded all my expectations and has become the highlight of my time in Peru. The journey began with a comfortable and scenic train ride through Urubamba river valley. The panoramic windows of the train provided breathtaking views of the Andean landscape, setting the tone for the spectacular sights to come. On arrival in Aguas Calientes, we were warmly welcomed by our expert guide from Inka Explorer Viajes. He expertly navigated us through the throng of visitors and efficiently organized our bus journey tot he top of the mountain. Once at machu Picchu, the expertise of our guide truly shone through. His rich knowledge of the ancient Incan civilization, delivered in fluent English, brough the ruins to life. He took us through each section of the citadel, explaining the significance of the structures, the history and the intriguing theories around this world wonder. What struck me most was how he answered questions with patience and enthusiasm, accommodating everyone`s interests. His passion was contagious and brought an added layer of enjoyment to our exploration of this awe inspiring site. Post the guided tour, we had free time to explore the citadel at our own pace, to absorb the grandeur of the site and to take pictures. Despite the full day trip, we never felt rushed. Everything was well planned, allowing us to fully experience and appreciate this world heritage site. The return journey was as smooth as the morning trip. We were exhauseted but elated, our minds full of stunning images and fascinating facts about the Incan civilization. Inka Explorer Viajes provided a flawless service. Their punctuality, excellent organization, and professional guide made this journey hasslefree. The trip was well worth the price, and I wholeheartedly reccommend their services to anyone planning a trip to Machu Picchu. My day with them was not just a tour but an immersive journey into Peru`s rich past. It is an experience that I will cherish forever.

An unbeatable adventures with Inka Explorer viajes and Arturo
My wife and i recently embarked on an ATV tour to Rainbow Mountain with Inka Explorer viajes and to say we were blown away would be an understatement! Our guide, Arturo and the entire team exceeded our expectations, creating an unforgettable adventure that was the highlight of our trip to Peru. Booking the tour was a breeze, thanks to Inka Explaorer Viajes´professionalism and helpful team. They answered all our queries promptly and provided detailed information about the tour, which helped us to prepare well in advance. Now, onto the main event - ATV Rainbow Mountain Adventure. The thrill of driving ATVs through the gorgeous landscapes of Peru is an experience we won´t soon forget. The gear was top-notch and even for those of us who were first time ATV riders, Arturo provided clear instructions and ensured our safet at all times. Arturo was the perfect guide for this tour. His knowledge of the region and its history added depth to the physical adventure. His enthusiasm was infectious, and his respect for the natural environment around us was commendable. Moreover, Arturo ensured every member of our group was comfortable, regularly checking in on us and adjusting the pace as needed. The sight of the Rainbow Mountain in itself was surreal, with the strikingly beautiful colors offering a fantastic reward at the end of our ride. Arturo also ensured that we had ample time to explore and soak in the majestic views. After tg¿he tour, we were treated to a traditional Peruvian lunch, which was perfect ending to our adventure. The food was delicious and it gave us an authentic taste of the local cuisine.

          A vibrant journey to Vinicunca
Embarking on a one-day trip to the majestic Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) with Inka Explorer Viajes is a thrilling adventure that artfully combines the raw beauty of nature with adrenaline-fueled excitement. The journey to this breathtaking natural marvel on ATVs is a unique and exhilarating experience that sets it apart from the usual hiking tours.Travelling on the ATVs allowed us to immerse ourselves in the Peruvian landscape more intensively than by bus or hiking. The route took us through undulating valleys, traditional villages, and along the vibrant green slopes leading up to the Rainbow Mountain. The ATVs were in good condition and were both fun and easy to handle. ¡A truly unforgettable journey!

          Highly Reccommended
Super informative and interesting trip with Arturo to the Rainbow Mountains. This was the highlight of the trime in Peru. Infact we enjoyed so much riding the ATVs up the hill and back down that it truly seconded Machu Picchu trip. The views are outworldly and the local community people are welcoming and friendly. It was an excellent value for time and money.

The BEST way to experience Rainbow Mountain!
Three friends and I booked the Rainbow Mountain ATV tour last minute and it became one of the highlights of our trip! Upon reservation, we reached out to the company on WhatsApp and arranged for the early morning pickup at our hotel. They arrived on time (3h30) and we got to watch the sunrise over the mountains during the 2h40m drive to the breakfast spot. Breakfast was buffet style and there was no shortage of food, they would cook more if you wanted more. We settled into our ATVs and began the scenic drive up the mountains and it was breathtaking. The ATV trails wind up the side of the mountains and you cannot compare this experience with anything else! We stopped along the way up to take plenty of photos and admire the views. Heads up: they recommend you wear gloves and eye protection (glasses or sunglasses are sufficient). The helmets have built-in sun visors and clear face shields so even if you forget, you'll be fine. Park entry fees are not included, so budget another 80 soles for entry into the park (10 for road entry and 70 for park entry if I remember correctly). We reached the base of the peak where we dropped off our ATVs and stopped by the bathrooms (1 soles). Then it was roughly 1.5 kilometers to the peak and it was absolutely gorgeous! At that altitude, make sure to take lots of breaks as you hike up. My friend and I are in decent shape but we were out of breath every 15 steps nearing the summit. Take your time and take in the views. Alternatively, you can take a horse (40 soles) or motorcycle (70 soles) up to the top if you don't want to walk. Keep in mind that they cannot take you to the peak so you'll still have to hike the final part. No need to pay for a round trip, walking down is easy. Once we returned from the peak, we grabbed our ATVs and drove back the way we came, stopping for more photos and returning to where we started for lunch. Lunch was buffet style as well with a good variety of tasty food. We were a little late and got back to the hotel at around 7 pm. The guide and driver were professional and kind and the cooks were very nice to us. The guide made sure we were comfortable driving the ATVs before we began the convoy and was always looking out for our safety. This is by far one of the best ways to experience Rainbow Mountain in one day and I HIGHLY recommend going with this company! P.S. I've read reviews claiming that they were forced to buy sunglasses or that the guide left them alone. We were NEVER forced to buy anything and the guide was always respectful and looking out for us. The final climb to the summit is NOT easy, but it is doable if you are in decent shape. There will obviously be faster and slower people, but the route to the top is straight forward and the guide will be periodically checking in on you! Prepare to get very dusty as the ATVs kick up a lot of dust on the dirt trails.

This is fantastic side trip from Cusco and should not be missed.

Okay, there’s a three hour bus trip each way but you don’t really want them to build a hotel in this pristine wilderness, do you?

The company was excellently organised, with plentiful communications and exact instructions.

Our guide, Jose, was funny and informative and made sure that explanations in Spanish and English were comprehensive.

The trip is weather-dependent, everybody knows that, and there’s no point being disappointed if you decide to go and don’t get clear skies. It’s one of those things where it’s worth it when you do, and a pity when you don’t but worth the try.

The Quad bikes are easy to use and you don’t get to any great speed, so it’s relatively safe even for novices.

The best thing about it is the price. Many walking tours cost twice as much as this and will see you get to the destination breathless and unable to take advantage of the experience. Instead of walking for an hour or 90 minutes uphill at 5000 metres, 25 minutes on a quad bike taking in the breathtaking scenery will get you to the end of the trail.

Don’t be disappointed that you have to walk the last 300 m uphill, so does everybody else! Take your time, whether it’s five or 10 minutes, the view from the top is most certainly worth it.

Excellent from start to finish. The good:
        They passed on time.
        - Vehicle in excellent condition
        Excellent guides
        - Motorcycles in good condition 4/5
        - if you forgot hat and gloves (it was very cold in May!), they sell you in the restaurant
        - Wonderful views
        - The agenda is detailed from the beginning and fulfilled (toilet stops, tour times, photo stops, etc.)
-We feel safe at all times

        The not so good:
        - consider that even though the route is 95% by motorcycle, the remaining 5% is walking and is exhausting (this is not the fault of the tour, obviously)!
        - the last stretch (just before reaching the mountain) where you have to pay extra to be taken by motorbike the locals are WORTH EVERY PENNY, however I think it is not so safe (it is not the fault of the tour, on the contrary I think it is excellent to be presented with an option to avoid that stretch on foot)
        - Restaurant food is not the best, 2.5/5
Consider that you will arrive full of red dirt, it is not the fault of the tour, but do not forget to consider it!

You can’t go wrong with Rojelio and Arturo!!!!

I did this with my friend. We got picked up from our hotel by Rojelio at 4:00 a.m. and in our group were a total of 9 tourists.

First stop after 1:30 drive was for a decent buffet breakfast. We had lunch at the same restaurant and there were plenty of buffet options including soup, for every taste and food restrictions you might have! The food was very fresh as it seems like this restaurant is a hub for all excursions happening in the area.
Second stop after another hour or so of driving was to switch to ATVs. We got riding instructions on English and Spanish; pretty simple, straightforward and safe as they provide hamlets with visor. Having sunglasses can be helpful. Get ready for A LOT OF DUST as you ride! Lol Everyone is wearing 2 face masks due to local government COVID restrictions so that was helpful. Riding back to the van, after hiking the mountain was more interesting as we got to ride at 75 km/hour for a short time.

The hike starts at 4700 m and is not an easy one even if it’s only 2 km. You have the option to rent a horse or ride on the back of a local person motorcycle for 70 soles. One person in our group had to be put on oxygen and our guides were all prepared! The impressive part was that they went back and forth on the mountain as we were hiking at different paths, to ensure we are all okay. Pretty impressive effort!!

At the top Rojelio took some awesome pics of me and my friend! He’s a very good photographer!

The view is breathtaking no matter what direction you are looking! Be prepared for gusty winds on the top at over 5000m and snow on your way down, as it happened to us in August!

Both guides were amazing the entire trip making sure we are having a great time and we make memorable memories! The entire experience was amazing and we recommend you both Arturo and Rojelio!!! A unique, beautiful experience!!!

        Thank you Rojelio and Arturo!!
        Love, Magda and Chris!

Arturo and Yadira's attention is very good 👌 our driver Abrl is also very friendly and good. They picked us up at the meeting point very close to the hotel, punctually, we went on a tourist bus with 10 people to have breakfast, the breakfast has what we need, especially since my recommendation is not to eat too much, I had fruit with yogurt and a drink of Maca, then we went to the area where we took the motorcycle, very coordinated, good explanation, especially because there are people who have never ridden the ATV. It's safe... and from here on out the landscapes are impressive. We reached the foot of the top of the mountain, because it is not possible to go higher, you can do it on foot, by horse or hired motorcycle. I went up on the motorcycle for 10 minutes and I was already at the top. Approximately 1 hour to take photos and then you can walk down to take the 4moto again after a well-deserved, very delicious lunch and then return to Cusco. At all times they were attentive to us with oxygen, which was not necessary. My mother is older and has blood pressure problems, but she went up low on the motorcycle without any problem.
The tour is very nice, good service, organization and very friendly people

I was the last to be picked up at 4:00 am in the morning by our competent driver Raul. Rogelio, our guide, explained what our day would entail. Our group was friendly, happy and energetic, matching the spirit of Rogelio.
We drove several hours before arriving at the starting point for our adventure. We all sat down for a breakfast buffet cooked for us by a local family. Afterwards, we climbed aboard our ATV and strapped on helmets. Rogelio led the caravan of ATVs at a fast pace. We all had huge smiles on our faces as we splashed over puddles and traversed over the dirt roads. The landscape was vast and the roads filled with alpacas. I stopped every few meters to take a few photos and take in the scenery.
After an hour of riding the ATVs, we arrived as the base of the path up to Rainbow Mountain. We were now going to walk/hike 4 KM up to the mountain. I wore my camp slippers as I was not expecting to hike. Even with my unsuitable footwear, I was determined to walk to the vista point more than 1,000 meters from the start. The hike was one of the hardest, yet satisfying things I have done in my life. The combination of altitude (>5,000 meters) and my foot gear, it was challenging. 3 in our group were not able to overcome the altitude and turned back. Rogelio ran between those that turned back and those who made it to the summit with ease. He made sure that all of the guests were attended too and no one felt left out. I was amazed that he actually ran up to me without much effort.
After summiting the mountain, we all rode back to the starting point where we sat down to a hot lunch of local cuisine.
Rogelio deserves more than 5 stars for his support for everyone on the trip. I have recommended this trip to two of my friends and would happily recommend to anyone looking for a great adventure

This trip was amazing. There were a few bad reviews and we were hesitant with booking with this crowd but in the end we were delighted to have gone with them. There was only 4 in our group and our tour guide was an absolute gent.

The food was a highlight, self serving buffet at the base and it was delicious. Some traditional food mixed with a western style breakfast. Plenty of it to go around also.

The bus journey is three hours and we were delighted to have a nice bus for that journey. All 4 of us slept comfortably.

I would definitely recommend booking with this crowd, they were well organised in terms of food, transport and very knowledgeable on the history of the mountains and people. The tour guides English was perfect and that always makes it that bit more enjoyable.

Terrible. I booked this trip months in advance, and I never heard from them. So the day before the trip I both emailed and texted them. I sent a couple of texts before they responded at 7:30pm that night. It seemed like they didn’t even know I was even booked so I sent them a screen shot of the booking. I asked what time will we be picked up and they said 3:40am. Little frustrated at no response but okay. Well I got sick in the middle of the night. Huge headache and was throwing up. I sent a message at 2:00am saying I won’t be able to make it because I was not feeling well. They sent a text at 4:00am saying I was a bad Pearson. I’m a bad person because I am sick? I already paid for it, I never asked for a refund but they said I was a bad person. How horrible is that? I even have a screen shot of the text for proof.

This is a good operator. Everything went smoothly and was peaceful. All staff were wonderful. The restroom/meals stops were well timed. This is a MUST-SEE! This tour operator makes it very doable for nervous and/or overweight people. We opted for the motor bike ride up to the top from the end of the AVT trail. The final hike up from the motor-bike drop-off was fairly flat and easy to walk.

Readers planning: be aware this is around 17,000 feet in elevation, DO plan to acclimate in Cusco a few days before attempting. I did get altitude sick in Cusco my first day there, I did this trip on my third day there and had no further altitude issues from this day trip.

The whole trip was a great success from start to finish. The only "negative" was the breakfast. It was half cold and unfortunately only designed for hearty breakfasts (eggs, sausage, cheese). But the quad tour was all the more beautiful. :) I would also take cash with me for the bike ride up. Because there is hardly any time for walking up and down and I wouldn't recommend it either, so I wouldn't go down on the bike.🤭😅

What an amazing day. After a very early start and a three hour bus ride, we were then given a delicious breakfast. Then on to the quad bikes, which was great fun. After about 90 minutes, we arrived at the base of Rainbow Mountain. Then for 40 Soles, we got on the back of motorbikes to go up the next section. The scariest thing I have ever done!! After a precarious walk to the very last bit, I was hit by the altitude a bit, so I never made it to the very top. Another scary bike ride down and we were back on the quad bikes. More fun riding back to the start point, where we received a delicious lunch. Then three hours back to our hotel. All in all a tiring, but fantastic day. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
