About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- lewispS8888CO0 contributionsGet a private tourThis was a once in a lifetime adventure. I would highly recommend the company and to pay the extra money to have a private tour. They picked us up in a private van and we had our own tour guide the whole time. We could go at our own pace and not get slowed down or pressured to leave a site early when you go with a group. They provided a great packed lunch and the hotel and dinner was fine.Written 22 November 2024
- Wander086072207970 contributionsGreat experience on the 3D/2N Inca TrailWe had an incredible trip with our guide Victor. He was extremely knowledgeable about the site’s history, had a great sense of humor and made us feel very comfortable. His passion for Inca history is very much on display. I would certainly recommend this trip to friends and family.Written 14 November 2024
- Maps677614569000 contributionsAmazing Inca Trail Tour to Machu Picchu! This Short Inca Trail tour was unforgettable! The scenery was breathtaking, and our guide, Ronald was outstanding—sharing deep knowledge of Inca history and making the journey safe and enjoyable. The hike was challenging but so rewarding, with stunning views around every corner. Finally reaching Machu Picchu was magical, a moment of awe that I’ll remember forever. I highly recommend adding Huayna Picchu climbing to see another view of Machu Picchu! Thank you. ありがとう!Written 11 November 2024
- quantpav0 contributionsFantastic experience discovering Machu Pichu and other Incan sites in PeruSpectacular views, historic sites, good food, nice shopping, and a clean country + lovely people! We did the Short Inca trail with Andean Path run by Alicja and David. They were very prompt with their communication, helpful with answering all our questions, and punctual with their meeting times. David was our hiking guide and he is a great hiking buddy and super nice. He gave us a lot of history about Machu Pichu, several Incan sites, and the salt mines. He was very helpful throughout our hike. We had a fantastic time overall exploring Machu Pichu, Cusco, Chinchero, Maras salt mines, Moray Incan ruins, Sacred Valley, etc. I highly recommend them for your tours in Peru.Written 22 October 2024
- janetgQ3975ZT0 contributionsAmazing Experience! 5 day Inca Trail with Andean PathWe are a family of four (kids age 10 and 12). I was a little bit nervous bringing the kids on the Inca Trail, but it was something we really wanted to do. I looked at a lot of different tour companies to find the trip that was right for us. As soon as I reached out to Andean Path I knew it was the right fit. Alicja was extremely responsive to my questions and found the trip that would work for us. We did the 5 day private tour. Andean Path is also 100% Peruvian, and that was important to us. Having a private tour meant that we could set the pace that was right for us. Our guide, Ronald, was excellent. He set our daily schedule to suit our speed. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the Inca and all the sites we visited along the way. Our chef and porters were amazing. They worked so hard to set up camp and feed us every day. The food was excellent, plentiful, and had a lot of variety. The trip was also very well organized. Gear was high quality and in good condition. Transports were always on time. Andean Path took care of everything. I would strongly recommend Andean Path to anyone who is looking to do a trip in the Cusco area.Written 18 October 2024
- 550sinew0 contributions10/10 experience with Andean Path Travel (Lares/ short inca trail combo)We did the 3 day Lares trek/ 2 day short inca trail to Machu Picchu with Andean Path Travel and had the best time. Was super easy to oranise everything beforehand and everything was seemless. The Lares trek is beautiful and made more so by our guide Ronald (funny and knowledgeable ), our chef ( had the most delicious food above and beyond - hard to believe we were camping) and our porter who was lovely and so hard working. After the Lares Trek we did the short inca trail to MP with Ronald and learnt heaps of history. I highly recommend Andean Path Travel and would go on another trip with them ( the whole team were so great).Written 10 September 2024
- Excursion112978314500 contributionsAmazing trip! Our trip to Machu Picchu has been amazing and was made even more memorable by our lovely tour guide David! So knowledgeable and friendly, and very patient with us when we were going quite slowly. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a very seamless trip!Written 5 September 2024
- chip4660 contributionsNo words can describeMy daughter and I just completed the classic 4 day hike to Machu Picchu along with a 1 day tour to Rainbow Mountain with Andean Path and we cannot thank Ronald / David enough for their assistance in making this trip truly an adventure of a lifetime. The service we received on our hike by our porters, chef and guide was exemplary, and I would highly recommend Andean Path for your adventure in this beautiful land.Written 28 August 2024
- Cruiser4746770 contributionsAmazing Experience - Highly RecommendAmazing experience!! Highly recommend!! We did the 2 day Inca Trail with our family, kids 12 and 13. Ron was our guide and he is a big part of wjmhy this was just a great experience. He is knowledgeable and passionate about Inca culture. He taught us many aspects of Inca culture and the history of the ruins. He also shared his knowledge of local plants and animals. On the hike, we was both patient and encouraging, especially with the kids. His superb photography skills helped us get the best family photos along the trek and at Machu Picchu. They took care of every detail for us (food, transportation, accommodation) and eailty accommodated a celiac diet. All we had to do was walk and enjoy the spectacular scenery. The communication from Andean Path was excellent and professional. We felt confident booking this trip and we are so, so glad that we did. This was a highlight of our trip and Andean Path with Ron as our guide were phenomenal. Thank you so much for this unforgettable experience.Written 22 July 2024
- Jemmaedmonds0 contributionsThe most wonderful experience! From the moment I enquired about the 2 day inca Trail to us being dropped off at our hotel in Cusco afterwards, we felt supported and well informed with every step of the way. David who I dealt with at the beginning was very patient and assisted with all my questions. Upon booking, my initial deposit failed and Alicja and David were very understanding and patient with us until the payment was made. The night before the hike, our guide Ronald came to meet us at our hotel for a briefing of what to expect. Ronald was super amazing at explaining what the hike was going to entail. The day of the hike came and I can’t express enough just how magical this trail was. Ronald, our guide was just the most perfect and passionate person to explain the history of the Incas, the fauna and always making sure we were safe. We were lucky to only have myself and my husband on the hike, we hiked at our own pace and it felt so personal and intimate. We loved every minute of the 2 day Inca trail, it is a must and I would highly recommend booking with Andean path travel. The most important thing for us was communication and this is exactly what they delivered. I hope you get lucky and get Ronald as your guide too as he really was the icing on the cake on this hike. Truly a wonderful and magical experience. Highly highly recommend.Written 26 June 2024
- Mars82UK0 contributionsMACHU PICCHU TRIPFrom the beginning to the end is nothing short of amazing! David & Alicja was superb in assisting us in booking this magical experience. “Professor” Rom aka Ronalde is magnificent, the trip would not have been so beautiful, insightful and truly enjoyable if it was not for him!! We can’t thank Ron enough for creating this wonderful experience for us!! His knowledge and true passion is inspirational and we loved every moment of our trip. Oh and his photography skills are beyond superb!!! Muchas Gracias Senor.Written 24 June 2024

- mingp20210 contributionsTrustworthy agencyWe had a great experience with the travel service. The organizer Alicja and David were responsive and professional. They sent all details clearly ahead of the time which is very helpful. The tour guides from them were also great for our Sacred Valley tour and the MP hiking tour. Both guides are veterans in the area. Overall we would use them again if we come back later.Written 28 May 2024
- 10matk0 contributionsShort Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 2 DaysHaving already visited Machu Picchu once previously "in a hurry" (one a one day return trip by train) I was keen to revisit but this time with the added experience of walking the footsteps of the ancient Incan trail. With a really personal experience and a stellar review history both being priorities, me and my partner eventually settled upon Andean Path Travel to book our Two Day Incan Trail trek. From first contact, both Alicja and David immediately set us at ease; all responses to our (many) questions were answered quickly and fully, with Davide being particularly detailed and thorough during his briefing. All of this made sure that we were 100% prepared, ready and eager to begin. In short, the trek itself was an absolute dream (and well worth the earlier start time, per Davide's recommendation). Shortly after dawn, we jumped off the train from Ollayantaytumbo at the 104km train stop and began the most incredible journey, through the Wiñay Wayna ruins and the awesome Sun Gate (where we stopped for the most delicious box lunch), until we reached Machu Picchu itself in all of its glory (magnified, even, by the very many steps that preceded our arrival). Along the way, Davide was a really excellent guide, exhibiting every bit of his natural inquisitiveness and deep knowledge of Incan history (together with his patience for our countless questions). His passion was infectious and massively contributed to making the whole journey even more special. Overall a 5 star, A + experience. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Andean Path Travel to anyone looking to organise a first class trek in the Cusco / Andean region!Written 7 April 2024

Ron was an amazing tour guide, easily the most knowledgeable tour guide I have ever met. He is also a former National Geographic photographer, the pictures he took of our group were breathtaking. David was another tour guide we met on the way, he was hilarious and very nice too. The driver we had was an unsung hero, probably the best driver I have ever seen, especially given the chaotic Peru traffic and the winding mountain roads.
The tour itself was breath taking. Day 1 we saw the sacred valley, which was beautiful. We saw a handful of Incan sites, where Ron told us the history of each. Moray and the salt mine were definitely highlights for me. We also had demonstrations from locals on textiles and chicha. Lunch was delicious too. We were roughing it in hostels for the rest of our trip so the hotels we stayed in during these days were by far the nicest. Day 2 was the Incan trail. The sights were unbelievable. Ron was very good at helping us along, we were 4 fit 20 year old men and the trail we difficult (especially because of the altitude). The packed lunch far surpassed my expectations. Dinner was provided that night as well and was also amazing. The last day we toured Machu Picchu, Ron was able to tell us all the history of the site and answer all our questions. Finally we began the journey home, the train was delayed but we made up some time getting back to Cuzco thanks to that amazing driver.
I would HIGHLY recommend this tour and this tour company to anyone looking to explore Incan sites!

Our three day Sacred Valley + Inca Trail + Machu Picchu private tour with Andean Path Travel was fantastic! David helped answer all of our questions that we had prior to arriving in Peru, and then came to our hotel in Cusco on a prior evening for a brief and helpful orientation. He also provided a duffel bag for our use that he transported between the Ollantaytambo and Aguas Calientes hotels so we didn't have to carry our clothing and toiletries on the one day Inca Trail hike which was much appreciated!
Our guide was Ron and he was great. He is from a village near Ollantaytambo and is extremely knowledgeable about Incan history and culture. Since my wife mentioned an interest in flowers, he also took the time to point out many of the different types of flowers along the Inca Trail.
The Sacred Valley Tour was great and the Inca sites at both Pisac and Ollantaytambo were very impressive. The provided buffet lunch was delicious and in a very nice setting. We had some free time to explore around Ollantaytambo in the late afternoon.
The one day Inca trail hike provided wonderful views almost continuously along the trail. The first half (~3 miles) is mostly uphill but we found the ascent to be very manageable although we stopped to catch our breath plenty of times. The ruins at Winay Wanya are a nice reward after the uphill. From Winay Wanya, the second half of the hike is mostly level and downhill. The views of Machu Picchu from the Sun Gate and descending on the trail are unbeatable and we were able to visit the upper portion of Machu Picchu when we arrived which is where the attached photo together with Ron was taken.
On the third day, we visited the main portion of Machu Picchu and ascended Huayna Picchu mountain. Although the hike is steep, the views along the way and at the top are incredible of both Macchu Picchu and the surrounding mountains and valleys. I would recommend adding the Huayna Picchu option if you book early enough. We returned back to Aguas Calientes and took the train to Ollantaytambo where a driver picked us up and took us back to our hotel.
Andean Path Travel is a local Peruvian company and they did a great job with everything, we highly recommend them!

We completed the 3 day, 2 night excursion including sacred valley, Machu Picchu, hiking 7 mile Inca trail, and Hiking waynapicchu mountain! This was a great way to see a lot in a short amount of time. Our tour guide, Ron, was very knowledgeable about Inca culture. It was very helpful to have someone with us to organize all the hikes, tickets, buses, trains, hotels, food etc! The hiking is strenuous so wouldn’t recommend if you’re not normally active. Wayna Picchu was an add on and would recommend this! Steep uphill climb rewards you with an amazing vantage point of Machu Picchu. We also enjoyed staying in Machu Picchu town- seems to always be lively with great culture, markets, and food! The hotels were just average, but we were barely there so didn’t matter. This excursion was difficult to pack for but best recommendation would be to wear layers. At one point I was in a tank top and the next part wearing a fleece and jacket. Pants and a hat would be best at all times. If you want a taste of the Inca Trail but not up for the 4 day hike I would recommend this alternative!

16 of us did the 4 day Inca Trail to MACHU PICCHU. David and Rom were the best tour guides we could have possibly asked for. Their knowledge of the history, flora and wild life was amazing. All the details of the hike were well planned out and all we had to do was show up with the energy to hike and carry our basic needs. David's amazing team of porters and chief kept as well fed (amazing food) and set up our tents each evening. Hiking was all we had to worry about, everything else was taken care of down to snacks and clean water. I highly recommend Andean Path Travel for anyone considering Hiking the Machu Picchu trail. Very professional company.
David also is a great tour guide for things to see and do around Cusco

We had an amazing time. The tour was well organized and our guide was very knowledgeable and experienced. He met us the day before the tour and explained everything. His tips on starting early was very useful to avoid the crowds, and to beat the heat. They handled all the logistics ahout handling luggage around the long hikes, recommended good, safe hotels and restaurants. The tour buses were always spot on time. We were really able to relax and enjoy Peru as they made it comfortable and hassle free.

I'm totally excited about this tour. Everything was so perfect and so different compared to what we heard from others.
Our guide (Ronald) was an ongoing Wikipedia, explained us so much and had an answer for every question (and we asked a lot) and was a wonderful company during this tour. The food and the hotels were also very qualitative. I can hardly believe that we got such a great service for the price.

I highly recommend this company and tour.
David was very helpful with making the arrangements and following up to ensure that everything would run smoothly once we arrived.
Once we arrived, Sandro met us at the airport to start our journey and made us feel right at home.
He was very knowledgeable and accommodating.
I have already and will continue to recommend Andean Path to anyone who wants to see Cusco and Machu Picchu!
