        Worth the trip!
Lovely experience! Fantastic to see how they care for a variety of animals; lots of enrichment activities and plenty of space to keep them happy. Got to see a couple of condor flights from inside their enclosure (!); such impressive creatures! Definitely worth a visit - you can feel good about putting soles toward a beautiful cause. If you can do a tour, there’s a lot of interesting information about all the inhabitants, but it’s not necessary.

        The Condors are amazing!
We were given a nice tour in English by one of their volunteers. While this is a true animal rescue and not a zoo, some of the enclosures are quite small, but I do believe they are doing the best that they can with the space and resources they have. Seeing the condors fly overhead was amazing! You don’t appreciate how large they are until you see it in person. There are a few shops and a small cafe as well for refreshments and souvenirs.

Hidden treasure of a place. Fantastic way to see the wildlife of the Andes and Peru
This place is trully a must! It is easily accessible from Cusco and we visited on our way to Pisac. It's a place where rescued animals are taken care of, rehabilitated and with any luck released back into the wild. They had some incredibly rare animals there. There were andean bob cats, often referred to as the ghosts of the andes. Condors!! And even puma! It is really worth stopping by. The staff are incredible and highly motivated. Was a real highlight of our trip to Peru. They rely on donations and tickets so it's a win win to make this part of your trip! Remember the animals are wild animals and being rehabilitated for release. Amazing place.

Great Experience. These guys are doing a great job in keeping and rehabilitating these injured animals back into the wild
It's not a zoo. They keep these injured animals with an aim to release them back into the wild. The Condors were really majestic. They have around 11 and considering there are only around 150 left in the wild in Peru. They also have vicunas and the Andean Bear. I was also lucky to see a military macaw and a toucan ( rescued from a pet/ animal activity centre). For the animals they are planning to release on the wild, they keep them secluded which is a great idea. They also had the Andean bob cats. Overall small place, but if you love wildlife and interested in wildlife conservation, you should pay them a visit. This is very close to Pisaq/ Cusco and you need to keep 30 mins for this activity.

Guide was passionate however overall, a conflicting experience
Visited the sanctuary as reviews seemed good and saw a supposed actual release video on the Instagram page, however still left feeling a conflicted. The guide was clearly passionate about the animals and told us release dates of some but did say some would never be released. He said most had been rescued from trafficking. The Andean cat was pacing and meowing, it did not look in a healthy mental state. The cages are quite tiny as well. I can only hope the money spent does go towards releases

A once in a lifetime experience!
I expected this experience to be fantastic, based on past reviews, but it is so much more than that. Albert is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his work and the animals, and we learned a huge amount from him. It is clear that he has a mutual trust and respect with the animals and birds in his care, and he is doing everything to provide them with the best lives possible. We were given lots of time to spend close to the birds and animals, learning about them and taking pictures. We saw the beautiful pumas and wildcats being fed. I loved the spectacled bears, and my highlight was the condors flying so close above us that one even touched my head with his enormous wing, an Incan blessing Albert said. I can’t put into words how special it felt to go around seeing all the wonderful rescued animals and birds with Albert - you will just have to go and see for yourself. I’m sure you will take away many special memories with you too!

Fun stop outside Cusco - great animals & included guided tour
This is a great place to stop between Cusco and the Sacred Valley. My husband and I visited with our three sons. My sons who love animals were absolutely smitten--they loved feeding and petting the alpacas & llamas plus seeing the adorable animals (monkeys, turtles, bobcats, condors, etc.) You can only walk through the sanctuary with a guide, and our guide was fabulous--giving us enough time with each animal and enough individual information about each one. My middle son and husband were skeptical that they'd enjoy this stop, but both ended up loving it.

        Animal Sanctuary Visit
Great experience. You can see the animals, know their history, and even interact with some, like llamas and alpacas. The people at the sanctuary are doing a great job nursing them and returning some into the wild. Worth a visit.

        Thoughtful and interesting sanctuary
I'm so glad we found this place. I noticed on the map between Cusco and Pisac and my kids love animals so it seemed worth a visit. It was a great way to spend a few hours. We did a VIP tour and had the chance to feed some of the animals. I get that some reviewers worry about whether the animals are returned to wild or not, and I can't comment on that, but what I did see was content, well cared for animals that had space to roam. It was not at all like a zoo, and the setting was lovely. Kids really enjoyed it.

Wonderful work they do, you must visit and donate if you can
We loved this place! They do excellent work rehabilitating animals which have been injured mainly by the thoughtless actions of humans, if they can they release back into the wild but if not they look after them there. There are condors, parrots, monkeys, coati, llamas (one called Bob Marley cos he had dreads!), wildcats, a puma and a bear! The highlight has to be when the condors fly above your head and perch behind you eyeing you up for their next meal?! Thanks to our guide a German volunteer (sorry forgot your name) They are short of money and some of the cages they admit need expanding, so we gave them extra on top of the 20 soles admission

Beautiful condors that are a must see at this animal rescue center
This was such an amazing experience ! It was part of our stop as we hired a car to drive us around sacred valley. Beautiful rescued animals with a tour guide as part of your ticket. There are Andean bears, llamas, condors, monkeys, toucans, deers. The condors were our favorite. They flew right over our heads with their massive wings. An amazing experience. This is a must visit to help the rescue of these animals.

        Would definitely recommend
Was a great little excursion just outside of Cusco. We got picked up in the morning and driven to the sanctuary where we then had a great tour of the enclosures and had amazing encounters with the animals. Would definitely recommend.

lovely site to visit just outside Cusco
We stopped in as part of a tour of multiple Inca ruins around Cusco. This is a sanctuary for Llamas, Alpacas, and vicunas, and the like. The animals we saw appeared well cared for. attached to the sanctuary is a cooperative where the fur is processed into yarn, sweaters, woven goods, and art. They will teach you about the differences in the wool and how to spot imitations. They do also sell all the products they display.

Our flight was pushed to an earlier time so our original excursion had to be cancelled. I found this sanctuary and booked the tickets immediately. Loved the tour! I run an animal shelter in the US and I was excited to see the great work the sanctuary is doing.

We had the recommendation from the tourist guide Jorge, he told us our teens will enjoy the place and he was totally right. First this place have a unique purpose, rescue and save animals from people who believe wild animals are pets. The guide Camila was really sweet and fantastic with us, she explained us everything, she knows well the animals and she love his job. The animals looked very happy and well treated, just hope they can continue doing this amazing work, we had the best picture with one Llama but also my kids were so close Alpacas. The Condor experience was a little scary but completely safe, never expected be in the same place with huge Condors. This is an amazing place to visit and every visitor to Cusco must visit and help this place to continue doing better every single day.

Albert and the sanctuary staff are doing great work providing for rescued animals and where possible releasing them back into the wild. The sanctuary is small and privately funded - they clearly feel a passion for their valuable work and share that passion with their visitors. Animal lovers and those interested in Peruvian animals will greatly enjoy this experience.

Please come support this amazing animal sanctuary and have an amazing time learning about native animals while having fun. My favorite part was getting to feed the llamas and see how excited everyone was to be involved. I would love to come back and volunteer.

We decided to visit the sanctuary last minute & are very happy we did. The driver picked us up and returned us to our hotel. The guide was very informative & we learned a lot about the animals. We enjoyed feeding the llamas and alpacas and seeing the condors fly. The entire trip, including transportation, only took about 2 hours.
