          great value tour
good value whole day tour. be prepared to start at 630 am and end at 630 pm. some merchant stops at the start and end but no hard selling. there is also lunch included which is not too bad. the overall pace is perfect as there are lots of stairs and climbing so taking it slow is appreciated. Christian is a great tour guide!

Friendly and Professional Services Made for a Great Tour Experience
Well run and lead package complete from the start to end. Friendly and professional help from both Eybis and Katia after initial booking with providing all necessary details and updates as well as patiently answering our constant enquiries and requests. Accommodation choices were clean and comfortable and conveniently centrally located with great breakfasts plus the well organised transports. Daily tour guides were also friendly, patient and professional, particularly Jose and Richard who made trips to rainbow mountain and machu piccu unforgettably enjoyable experiences.

          Amazing lake
Marcial is a good tour guide, fluent in both of English and Spanish. The driver Kyamelie is also nice. The lake is amazing. Notice the hiking is not easy, but you could choose horse instead.

Laguna Humantay - a must visit
You get an early start around 4AM, we had a comfortable van and a long road ahead. Our guide Wally made the tour even better with his positive vibes. He explained everything, took care of the group needs and even performed a local ritual for us. Añay Super Wally!

Majestic scenery, tough but a rewarding hike
We had a great tour to Lake Humantay with Chullos Travel. Wally was an outstanding guide who was always in a very good humour. Great price-quality ratio as the tour also comprised breakfast and lunch and there were also vegetarian options. The lake itself was picturesque and just as amazing as in all the pictures against the majestic mountains. The hike was challenging but nothing excessive if you are in a relatively good shape. I would very much encourage able-bodied persons to go by foot instead of horseback to make most of the hike. The ritual that we performed in the end was also great as that enabled a small glance into the local culture and connecting with the nature. Special thanks to the guide Wally for this.

A special experience guided by Super Wally!
Exceptionally organised tour - highly recommend. Food is great. Wally our guide was always positive, funny, insightful and he made the challenging trek comfortable for everyone. You can pay extra to ride a horse up if required. Wally invited the group to participate in a ritual beside the sacred Laguna Humantay, which felt so special in the breathtaking landscape. He took photos for us and we were never rushed. Outstanding day!

The views were amazing! We had so much fun and had a great guide. Just be advised this is a very strenuous hike if you are not acclimated properly to the altitude.

Of course the scenery is spectacular and even more impressive in person than photos can portray, but our guide Edwin made this experience even more incredible than I could imagine!

He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable the entire time. His passion for the history and culture of his beautiful country was so refreshing and truly inspiring. His English is great and very easy to understand.

I was worried about the long drive there and back but the transportation was so comfortable (even had usb charging cables) and the views of the countryside made the time pass quickly. The ATV’s were very easy to use and going up the mountain was enjoyable and not scary at all like I had imagined it would be. I felt very safe and very much at ease. The views are just unreal. Once you reach the top there is a small hike to reach the over look. The altitude was a little intense for my dad who is over 65 and had double knee replacement surgery last year, but Edwin gave him his walking sticks and gave us some Agua de Florida which immediately helped.

You stop at a cute restaurant for a light breakfast (you don’t want anything heavy before being in such a high altitude) and then you return to the same spot for a nice warm enjoyable heavy lunch.

Edwin took many photos and videos of us with our phones and also with his. He sent me the ones he took on his phone to me via WhatsApp after the tour and they were incredible. He definitely has a better phone than mine that produced better quality photos. He is also a great photographer!

He reached out to me a couple of nights prior to give me detailed information and what to bring. He asked what time we wanted to be picked from our hotel between 4-5am. We picked 5am but in hindsight we should have went up an hour before. The weather was perfect but the last 10 min in the afternoon it drastically changed to cold and windy which typically happens in the afternoon. It was cloudy but we were able to get in better photo’s earlier when the sun was out. I would recommend going earlier because typically the weather is more enjoyable (although very warm) in the mornings this time of year.

Overall the tour was amazing and I would highly recommend. You do not want to miss this experience if you are in Cusco.

Do not book this tour with this company. It felt like a scam until we left. I reached out multiple times unable to get any information about pickup time or location. The day before I decided to stop by the office I looked up to get information. It had about 10 people sitting there and not one would help me or give me information. Finally, I was asked to leave my name and number for somebody to get back to me. It still took hours and finally around 8pm the night before I got most (still not all) details. I went to bed still not confident we we’re getting picked up in the morning. Morning comes and the company was 30 minutes late to get us, which was unacceptable when you dragged us up at 4am. This tour also advertised oxygen but there was none available nor nobody to ask about it because our guide disappeared the second we got to Raimbow mountain until we got to the top. This was a real shame as that was a big reason I picked this company. Finally, our bus driver was the most jerky driver and I believe nearly every person on our tour was sick. I have never gotten motion sickness and I was sick for literally 24 hours after this tour because the driving was so bad. This day was so bad it literally ruined our next day.

We almost didn’t go on this expedition because we were so exhausted from the previous day (be prepared for long days if you are wanting to do several excursions in Cusco), and we were so glad we did. Our tour guide was very upbeat and friendly. The bus ride is long, but it was worth it. Be sure to bring a few soles in case you need to use the restroom at the foot of the mountain. We would also recommend dressing in layers, as the weather is cold in the morning and at the top of the mountain as well. It is useful to be able to remove layers as needed. I wore athletic leggings and a sweater, thin puff jacket, a hat, gloves, and a rain jacket. Definitely bring a rain jacket on any excursion, as the weather can turn quickly, and you won’t want to be wet in the bus.

We were very lucky with the weather on this trip. It had rained heavily the night before, and the mountain was wet and muddy; however, we were provided with hiking sticks to help. The hike was challenging, but we found it to be less challenging than lake humantay. The snow melted as we walked up the mountain, and we were able to get great pictures of the colors, despite it being rainy season. We would definitely recommend using Chullos for this excursion, as it was organized, and we felt safe throughout the trip.

This tour was a good deal for the price; it includes transportation and 2 meals but you do have to pay admission for the mountain (I think around 25 soles). We were a little upset because we booked an English guide and were the only 2 English speakers in a group of 17…. One of the things we enjoy most about the tours is learning from the guides and meeting other fellow travelers but we did not have that opportunity on this tour, this is something the agency needs to look into. We felt as though we weren’t getting the same explanations as the guide would take his time in Spanish then come over to us and just say a couple sentences. He did his best, but really the agency should have put us in an English group. Also, check the weather before you go… it was very snowy and hard to see the mountain the day we went so try to plan around the weather if you can because it’s quite the hike!

We are a family of 5 kids ranging in ages 8-17 yrs old, did this outing in January 2014. Heber was the best guide! He was very energetic, positive & kind. He was especially great with my 10 yr old and 12 yr old, as they got pretty bad altitude sickness—stopped the van to let them throw up & get some fresh air. He walked up the hike with us cheering us on all the way. For the price we paid ($25USD/person), we thought the service and food was pretty great! We were served a cold continental breakfast buffet & also a hot buffet for lunch. We weren’t fans of several of the dishes but the chicken and rice were good, and the potatoe soup. All but 2 of my kids made it the top of the hike, the other 2 were too sick (the 8 yr old out-hiked us all!). The weather was crazy—started out hot & sunny so I left my jacket at the van(mistake #1!), halfway up a crazy hail storm came through & we got hailed/rained on for about 20 mins, then it stopped. By the time we got back to the van it was sunny again! We got some amazing photos, that hike kicked my butt (didn’t think I’d make it to the top but so glad I did!). I think I’d pay for the motorbike to the top next time, and hike down. I felt so sick, and we hike/are outdoors quite a bit. Definitely a memorable experience—my 17 yr old daughter was the first to the top and said she liked it better than Macchu Picchu. Doable as a family, especially if you can take your time on your way up. Some of my favorite parts were seeing the local farmers working in their fields, the alpaca herds, & the beautiful scenery along the way. Peru is just stunning. Do it! And request HEBER FOREVER as your English/Spanish guide! 😊

Wally was a great tour guide! He made it enjoyable, even for our party members who were struggling - be prepared that the altitude is very high and it's a strenuous hike, but the views at the top are worth it. I would just recommend going a few days after you arrive in Cusco and are better acclimated, otherwise it'll be extra tough. The food they serve on the ride to and from is delicious too! Would definitely take this tour with Wally again 😁

We had an excellent experience with this tour company! Edwin is the best!! He was so kind and took care of all of our needs. He found horses for my daughter and I to ride to the top, took pictures of my family when we got to the top, and shared lots of information about the Andean culture! We stopped for a light breakfast on the way to the Rainbow Mountain and then had a delicious buffet lunch with a wide variety of food before heading back to Cusco! We had a wonderful day and I highly recommend this tour company to anyone wanting to experience the Rainbow Mountains. Thank you Edwin for making it so special!

Although we made it to Rainbow mountain and got stunning views, and we were well feed, the tour operator had poorTime management, preparation and organization which was an issue.

First, I was supposed to be picked up at 4am. But then I was speaking to 3 different people on their WhatsApps giving me different pickup times. I was picked up at 4:40am and the bus made it hotel rounds to pick up everyone which took about an hour. So we weren’t on the road until around 5:30.

Second, driver made some unnecessary stops such as filling up gas which he should have done the night before. Adding to that, the bus had a flat tire and that could have been avoided if they did their bus maintenance checked the night before. Since the bus didn’t have enough leg room and didn’t have an upper compartment to store our day packs, making these stops and long journey made it really uncomfortable.

Third, stopping for 1 hour for breakfast on the way and another 1 hour for late lunch was unnecessary and delayed the time. They could have instead gave us breakfast and lunch bags. Also, having 2 of the 10 minute stops at the halfway points for washroom breaks would be better than stopping for an hour.

Forth, it would had been nice for the driver to turn off the bus when not in use while we are waiting at the stop points they made. The driver not turning off the bus caused the diesel exhaust fumes creep inside the bus and made breathing unbearable. Especially adding to the altitude sickness of Rainbow parking lot did not help.

Fifth, it took the bus a total of 6 hours to arrive at the Rainbow parking lot which it should had only taken 3 hours. By the time we arrived just past 10am, all the other tour buses were there and we were the last ones to arrive. This is poor time management on the tour operators part.

Overall, I give this tour a 2/5. Rainbow mountain is a definite must visit and we had a good 2 hours trekking and spending time up there which was nice; despite the crowds and issues we had with the tour company getting us there.

My advice to the tour operators is they need to improve on their time management, preparation and organization. Instead of picking up everyone 1 by 1 at their hotel, they should just meet everyone at the centre of the plaza meeting point which would save at least 1 hour of time. As well, do their bus maintenance and fill up gas the day before tour, and give everyone breakfast and lunch bags instead of stopping for 2 hours having meals.

Also, they didn’t offer vomit bags which would have been a huge plus, and also oxygen tanks which was not provided despite they had advertised it would be included.

Please, could you consult with the agency that made your reservation, since our good reputation is affected and it harms us too much by not hiring our services.

        Good tour, without any surprises.

In all fairness, there is not much to review, as the main thing here is you being delivered to the Rainbow Mountain and back.
This was done on time and in a comfortable enough mini-bus.

Breakfast was rather disappointing, with limited selection of food, which was also pretty much gone by the time our group arrived, thanks to the other groups that got there a bit faster.

Lunch was great though, good selection and quite tasty.

The hike to the mountain itself is quite strenuous given the altitude, and the guide did a good job keeping a close watch on us.

Given the nature of this tour, I can recommend this particular company high enough. The price is very reasonable, and provided service is quite adequate.

I’d also like to mention that there is really no point in going with other ‘private’ tours unless it’s happening at different time (very early in the morning, or late in the afternoon), as you will still end up in same crowd at the mountain.
