About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- carlosmF4079VA0 contributionsGreat guideGreat Guide, He knows everythig you need to know of Perú and Machu Pichu, a great experience. I will give him 5 stars of 5. Visit Perú with the de company you will not regret itWritten 21 January 2025
- GeorgeJ18290 contributionsMagical Trek to Machu PichuI opted for the Two Day Inca Trail Trip to Machu Pichu just out of curiosity about the depth of Inca history but I was rewarded with much more than that. And I must say that the trip was a dream come true due to two things and those were the sincerity of the tour operator Inkayni Peru Tours and their absolute brilliant guide Mr Ronald Ccana Soralero. The trip commenced from Cusco early morning by road in order to catch the 6 AM train from Ollantaytambo. We got down at KM 104 which is a nondescript halt enroute to the base of Machu Pichu where the train finally reaches. We stated our journey from KM 104 which has a hanging Bridge to cross the River Urubamba. The significance of this crossing was huge because it was one of the principal tributary of Amazon. The climb was indeed steep at times but the views it offered were priceless. The Incas truly knew their work of laying down a lasting trail. There were halt places and in addition the Tourism Department had made well maintained rest places along the route. The path gave us beautiful views of the River Valley and as we climbed higher and higher, the views became more spectacular. The best pleasant surprise came when an early Inca settlement, Winaywayna emerged in front. We would soon reach it and taken in by its spread and details. There is also a place for taking the lunch which though given by the tour operator but had to be carried on person. They made a perfect lunch with adequate energy supplements. Around 3 PM we got to see the grand Machu Pichu from the famous Sun Gate and we felt humbled by the fact that this was where the Inca kings too saw Machu Pichu on their walks. Soon we would descend into Machu Pichu and the feel it was immersive. The evening was spent at a hotel down at Aguas Calientes arranged by the tour company. The second day involved going to the main areas of Machu Pichu where our guide Ronald narrated the historic relevance with absolute confidence and conviction. He seemed to know every nook and corner of the monument with minute details and he surely made it worth the trip. Finally we returned by train back to Ollantaytambo and by road back to the hotel. The whole trip was memorable because of our wonderful guide Ronald and the tour operator Inkayni. Thanks to you both. Ronald was a mess also a motivator for us to complete the memorable trek. I would also recommend others to take this trip after spending two days in Cusco and after seeing the smaller monuments in the Sacred Valley. This will enable you to acclimatise and also appreciate the smaller monuments for their worth. Lastly, travel light and do carry just the basic overnight change or the weight could punish your back as it is a long trek involving great heights. But my wife and I who are in our sixties could make it and so you too canWritten 20 January 2025

- FrancoisG7090 contributionsWe had a fantastic time!Just wow! Our family of four spend 4 days with Paul visiting Inca sites around Cusco, the Rainbow Mountain, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu. We had a blast. Paul is fun, knowledgeable... such a great guide! We originally were supposed to do the 4-day Inca Trail trek... but had to change the plans due to an unforeseen health issue. The folks at Inkayni were very accommodating. I recommend this tour operator without hesitation. Looking forward to go back to complete the trek... and more!!!Written 19 January 2025
- rusum4220 contributionsMachu Picchu with InkayniHave been in many places of the world and listen to many guides . Most of them are common but Wilbert was by far the most passionate, informed and with a credible answer for any question . He talked in such a way that was easy to follow and understand about the inca culture . Never in too many words and never something boring . And a great photografer too .Written 15 January 2025

Best guide, Freddy and best chef, Herminios, and the rest of the local, professional Chasquis team were all so helpful and knowledgeable. Beautiful trek, wonderful food, lots of breaks to absorb the beauty, and learn more about this once in a lifetime destination and its rich history and culture.Written 29 December 2024
- jordanmI9325RF0 contributionsIf you go to Peru, do this TrekBest part of my visit to Peru by far. Awesome people, both the guides and the chasquis were a blast to hike and eat with. I was with Freddy and Jonathan, they were great about making sure the pacing was flexible and comfortable, sharing info about the land and sites, and showing everyone a good time. The hike was spectacular as well.Written 29 December 2024
- annamD9764ZZ0 contributionsOnce in a lifetimeVery beautiful, challenging and inspiring hike and Freddie and Jhonathan were amazing guides, we learned about the history while hiking and were able to appreciate what it meant to be there. - sethmJ1746SM0 contributionsExcellent 4 day Inca trail with Inkayni and Freddy!A great locally owned tour company. Our guide, Freddy and his team went out of their way to make the trek a great experience. Freddy is an excellent guide, extremely knowledgeable in the history, culture and environment of the area. His team of Chasquis were great too, we couldn’t have made the trip without them. The cook, Herminios, made excellent dishes in the middle of nowhere. Inkayni was great we’ll definitely use them for future tours! Make sure to ask for Freddy and Herminios.Written 25 December 2024
It was an amazing travel experience. From the very first day, our guide Wilbert picked us up from the hotel and perfectly arranged everything along the way: transportation, train rides, and detailed explanations of the breathtaking landmarks, including the incomparable beauty of Machu Picchu, which left us in awe. Truly unforgettable!Written 23 December 2024
- jamesbF3761QQ0 contributionsAlways The BestLast year I did the 4 Day Inca Trail solo with Inkayni Peru Tours and I was very happy with the experience. This year I did the 7 day Salkantay Trek and Inca Trail Tour with three other friends. That is three days visting the Humantay lake and then over the Salkantay pass at 16000 feet, and then the standard 4 day Inca Trail. Inkayni is a local, small company and the service was amazing as usual. Paul the tour guide was incredible, as was the chef and all the porters. Paul was extremely knowledgeable, taught us a lot, was able to answer any question we had, kept us on schedule, and made sure we were safe. I will definitely be taking more tours from the company, but after visiting Machu Picchu three times I probably won't be returning there for a while. The hiking was very challenging at times but doable. It is very important to think about every item you take, and only take what you need. Most of the time the scenery was stunning and constantly changing. December is a summer month in Peru and it is the rainy season there so you need to be prepared to sometimes hike in the rain, but at night on a clear night the stars are impressive.Written 20 December 2024

- Road231198151700 contributionsUnforgettable adventure, it’s not easy but it’s worth every steps !I took this Inca Trail Hike to celebrate my Birthday. Our guide Paul, & the crews ( chef and porters ) are the best people that I have met in my life. They were genuinely care to us. I had really hard time with high altitude. I couldn’t sleep the whole journey. I basically had 50% of energy, but Paul patiently accompany me and helped me to carry my back pack. On my Bday, the chef made Bday cake !!! I was so touched, I had happy tears. It’s journey physically, spiritually and emotionally that I won’t forget until my end day.Written 10 December 2024

This trip was amazing! We had some hiccups with transports, but the Inkayni was very responsive. Our group was small, three people and our guide, Freddy Torres, and chef and horseman, Nesario and Manuel. They were all wonderful; the trail was long and tough, but they worked hard and made sure we were fed and comfortable. I would travel again with these three in a heartbeat! We also had a medical concern that took us out of the last day of trekking (no one got hurt, it was a blood pressure issue), and Freddy did a wonderful job coordinating to get appropriate medical care, and got us back on track for Machu Picchu once that was taken care of. The company was quick to rearrange transports. Of note, we had to return to Cusco for medical care, and the process was efficient and professional from start to end. Very impressed! Freddy made our whole trip a truly special experience with his knowledge and experience, and we gained another family member! Of course the Salkantay Pass, Machu Picchu, and Huayna Picchu were breathtaking and I recommend everyone take the time to visit, but Freddy, Nesario and Manuel made it extra special. I have had mediocre tour guides before and that can completely change an experience, so I am grateful for the team we had! I would book through Inkayni again, and would recommend the company for tours in Peru.

We started our trip in Cusco and stayed in the amazing Ayni Cusco Hotel for two nights, the transfer from the airport was seamless and the drivers gave us a great welcome to Cusco! The hotel is brand new and the service was 100% from start to finish! It is the perfect place to settle in comfortably after a long flight and a great location to get to and from Cusco main square. There we met our guide for the trip Ernesto, he is a veteran of the Cusco trekking game and made my wife and I feel at ease throughout every part of the trek. We trekked with Ernesto and our horseman Victor and chef Hermino travelled ahead of us. Their efforts were extraordinary throughout. Victor worked tirelessly to make us comfortable and ensure the trip ran smoothly. Hermino is an excellent and talented chief, he gave us a varied range of courses and paid attention to what he liked the best! As a parting gift he made us a cake with the outline of the Salkantay trek on it! The scenery was magnificent, some sights near the glaciers were unbelievable. Ernesto always added to that experience with his in-depth knowledge of all the areas we visited and always spoke with a great passion for his Inca ancestors. My wife and I would recommend this trip to all and it was a really special experience made all the better by the great people who operated the trip! A++++

The Salkantay and Machu Picchu trek with Freddy Torres as our guide in March 2022 was phenomenal! The entire team put together a high quality experience with good equipment and excellent food. Freddy added an extra dimension with his incredible knowledge of nature and culture, his very warm and fun personality and superb customer service - often well beyond the call of duty! His English is impeccable and he really wants to know his customers - turning them into friends instantly. We would love to come back to the region and do another trip with Freddy!

This was the most amazing and challenging hike I've ever done! Beautiful views. Great staff support! Our guide, Paul Cano, was so helpful, great attitude, encouraging, a walking encyclopedia of Inca history, culture, and mystery. Chef Mr. Mario kept us well fed with the best Peruvian mountain dishes. Understand, this hike will challenge you physically, mentally, and spiritually, but the result is growth, a better self understanding, and some of the best that the Andes has to offer.

Thanks Mr. Jonathan! My tour guide for couple days in Cusco. I was with Mr. Jonathan during my Peru trip, he was very knowledgeable and passionate about what he doing. I was so lucky and glad that I’ve got him as my tour guide. Not only the details about all places you visit that he knows, but also feel free to ask him about good local restaurants, trips to rainbow mountain to avoid extra charge for horses riding! I really appreciated that he tell the truth about the actual price so you don’t have to pay extra! On top of the Machu Picchu while he stopped and gave the details about Machu Picchu history, he stopped at the nice spot that you can take pictures, VDO or records your memories. He has done his best for what he’s doing. Thank you so much Mr. Jonathan! I can feel that you have good intentions of what you do.

This trek experience was one of the best times of my life. We hiked around 82 kilometers total as I choose go a little farther after camp to see some temples.
This is the best way to see camino Inka - the Andes mountains are truly beautiful and so are the people along the way.
My guide Freddie did everything he could to make sure I was ok at all times. Freddie is educated from the university on Inka history and Machu Picchu and can answer any questions along the hike. Our chef Felix was amazing and made better food than some restaurants!
Keep in mind that you are camping- real camping. But the horsemen and porters will carry most of your things. You’ll have a small pack but they can carry the rest of your clothes.
If you’re up for an adventure and ready to hike is all conditions than this is your trek!

I had a wonderful experience using Inkayni Perú Tours. Yiyo was the guide for three women who on varied occasions struggled with altitude sickness, stomach bugs, and a sinus infection. He was very patient and caring. Yiyo made sure we all were having a good time, and allowed us to take as many breaks as our hearts desired. He helped pass the time with fun stories as well as informative tidbits of the areas we were traversing. His easy going and playful personality helped bring some lightheartedness to the long days of trekking.
Zacarías, the master chef, prepared incredible 3 course meals breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It blew my mind how creative he was with every meal, ensuring each meal was different from the last yet equally delicious and nutritious. He even baked us a beautiful cake for breakfast to celebrate finishing the most difficult part of the trek. His cooking abilities, and incredible work ethic is inspiring (he carried a 15 kg pack up and down the mountains daily) I could barely carry my 5 kg pack at 31, and he’s 53!
Lastly Victor, the brilliant cowboy who carried our overpacked heavy ass bags by horse each day was amazing! Three princesses who required a certain level of comfort were able to sleep in clean clothes with all our bedtime beauty rituals could not have done the 4 day trek without his horses and his cowboy skills.
Thank you for everything Yiyo, Zacarías, Victor. You’re amazing!
