          Great way to see Cusco
We had just arrived in Cusco and this was a great way to quickly see the main sights. The guide was very knowledgeable and took his time to explain both the culture and the history of Cusco

          Derailment of Hiram Bingham
This is Yi Shen, passenger and victim for the Hiram Bingham Feb 8th/2024 disaster! The train been derailed, after the couple minutes huge bumpy and jumping from the train, the whole dining area was covered by crashed glasses, the dropping luggage, pale faced passengers, splashed wine/beverage everywhere…. Just back to USA and here to address the manor regarding to that gigantic chaos. Personally I did contact Belmond train Feb 9th/2024 round afternoon time, however my family not satisfied with either the solution or the response from Belmond! First of all, due to long term great reputation of Hiram Bingham train service, so I made the reservation for this epic round trip. (My mom passed, tried to give my dad a break). Assumed we gonna have some good experiences, but not really. Especially the derailment would be life threatening, and after that most of passengers lost their appetite, been scared about what was gonna happen? Even though from Wanchaq to Machu Picchu train ride was quite average , passengers couldn’t even made a choice but standard meal set. The restroom near bar area been broken, and kept that status on the train back to Cusco. No fixing at all. There were several passengers from the Celebrity Cruise, cause I saw the logo on their tour guider’s outfit. That lady was quite nice and responsive, every 15-20 mins, she would check her team members and updated the situation. However, our tour guider from Hiram Bingham barely did anything, he never greeted any passengers and check if everyone was ok. Not really eager to help people out and keep info updated; unless he had to make the announcement to all passengers. (His name Rodi). Not a well atmosphere, as the fair statement. Furthermore round trip would be the whole package of Hiram Bingham experience, wouldn’t be reasonable to divided by two. When the incident happened, I held my glass, but red wine still splashed out on my white Polo shirt, when we finally arrived at hotel, time frame was 2am; which should be round 9pm as the arrangement… I specifically showed train Manager Henry about my all tinted top, and asked for the detailed report regarding this nightmare. After several emails, haven’t heard anything about my report yet, but ball kicking lol. Now my question here “ Is Hiram Bingham experience really worth?!” As above-mentioned content, we don’t think the partial refund from Belmond (a world famous iconic service chain) would be a proper way for the apologies; since customers got more potential cost behind… I’d like to communicate with the higher level management team, in order to address this issue. Best regards

Best value way to get from Cusco to Puno
If you wish to get from Cusco to Puno this one way trip is ideal. I would definitely recommend. Clear communication throughout and offered value for money. Bus was very clean and the driver was excellent- had no worries falling asleep knowing I was in safe hands. Our tour guide was friendly, helpful and attentive to our needs throughout. 5 stops during the trip with lunch provided

          Fun is relative
Fun experience if you want to drink a ton and jump around to wedding music. The food was good, service was excellent and decor was as pictured. We did the trip back from Machu Picchu- not the round trip- and it was dark so there were no stunning views. Might as well have done the vistadome both ways as that included great views, snacks and has alcohol for purchase.

Great experience but not worth the $$
We had an amazing day. The train is beautiful. Our guide was phenomenal. The logistics were smooth. The staff were attentive. We just did not feel the value was there. We would rather have paid less for the tickets and been charged for alcohol, the meals we wanted to eat and any souvenirs on offer, than have paid what we did only to eat one of the meals provided and be given cheap, tacky souvenirs that broke before we had even left Peru. Disappointingly, the meal we did eat was small (dinner) and we needed to eat again after disembarking.

Marco was an excellent guide and we enjoyed every minute of our tour. Very informative, we highly recommend a private tour to get the most out of your experience. We were a group of 3 couples.

          Fantastic Once-in-a-Lifetime Luxury Experience
My friend and I traveled hey to Peru to visit Cusco, Machu Picchu, and the Sacred Valley! With the help of Chris Mahoney, and Uncover Latin America Travel Agency, we had the best experience you could ever imagine. Chris helped us book a nice in a lifetime one-way train experience from Cusco to Aguas Calientes on the Hiram BinghamTrain and it was unbelievable! From the time we checked in to the end of the train ride, we were treated like royalty! The food was delicious, the bartenders, or should I call them mixologists, were extremely talented, and the entertainment in the observation car was fun and interactive! If you have an opportunity to travel to Machu Picchu, I highly recommend spending the extra money to take the Hiram Bingham Train to Aguas Calientes train station. And if you’re looking for a travel agency that ensures that every step of the way, your trip is expertly planned with no issues, I highly recommend Uncover Latin America!

Booked an English speaking tour, but ended up being the only English speaking guest.
I had booked this tour wanting to see a little bit of Cusco, without taking up an entire day. This tour was perfect for my needs. However, I booked an English speaking tour but when I got picked up, I was told everyone else in the group speaks Spanish and it became a Spanish speaking tour. Robinson, the guide, was amazing in filling me in with the English translations after giving the rest of the group their version. He was knowledgeable, very articulate and answered all of our questions. I just felt bad holding up the rest of the group when the English explanation was being given, and I sensed towards the end, some in the group were getting restless. If you’re going to book and English speaking tour, make sure it will be, but there really is no guarantee.

Enjoyed the Mountain View at the Sacred Valley.
Learning about the area and Inca history was very interesting. I enjoyed the pace of the tour which allowed for shopping, sightseeing, sampling food, and learning about the local culture. The views were beautiful and I liked visiting different towns. Definitely recommend for all.

our tour guide, franklin, was super knowledgeable about incan history, culture, and traditions. he led us through a great tour of machu picchu, sharing many stories and answering lots of questions. he also helped us find all the best photo spots and took great photos for us. he did not make the experience feel rushed at all, despite being on a time crunch because of the tour company’s poor planning (see below).

however this day started off terribly when the travel company booked 4 different groups with the same tour guide, all of us arriving into aguas calientes at different times. this ended up making us wait in the town for over 2 hours before boarding the bus to machu picchu, which heavily cut into our time to see the attraction because we had to make a train back 2 hours earlier than everyone else in our group. the company did not help at all with trying to book a later train and it was incredibly frustrating, with no communication about why we were delayed 2 hours (when they booked all of our travel so they knew other groups would be that much later). 1 star for the company.

Dear Valerie, we appreciate your recognition for knowledge and attention of our guide Franklin. We were auditing our operation on your day trip, and our operations department took some wrong decisions that affected your experience. Your train arrived on time and you have had the entrance to Machu Picchu according the arrival time, all was arranging to have a great day, but we did a mistake losing time to wait and join more travelers to start your tour inside Machu Picchu. In behalf VIPAC, we would like to give you our big apology. We are taking your important feedback to improve our service for next customers. Thank you for your time and again my sincerely apology. I will write you by email.

The organisation was excellent, sharp on time and great in assistance. The tour guide was medium, he was passionate but I felt we could spend more time on the site rather than on the city after and may be we could have more details in certain things.
We choose the 360 train option, highly recommend it for the view.

If you are going to Peru, you MUST make the trip to Machu Picchu. We took the train from Ollyantamba to Aguas Calientes (also know as Machu Picchu Pueblo) and then the bus from the town up to the citadel (note: we used Venturia to plan our Machu Picchu excursion and they took care of all reservations, tickets and planning for us including the tour guide). We spent about 3 hours exploring the Machu Picchu citadel and it was truly breathtaking and awe-inspiring. Afterward, we had a lovely lunch at Inkaterra and wandered around the cute backpacker town of Aguas Calientes.

This review rating reflects as close to an average of two aspects of the trip: one, the communication by the company (1/5), two, the actual tour of Machu Picchu (5/5).

The communication by the company receives a 1/5 due to confusing and inconsistent messaging and conflicting instructions. We were told to be ready for pickup in the morning at 9:54 AM, via email the day before the tour. We operated under that assumption only to be awakened at 5 AM by the first tour guide that we had less than 10 minutes to get ready and leave. We didn’t receive ANY notifications that we were going to receive additional instructions via WhatsApp nor did we even receive those WhatsApp messages until past 9 PM when we had already gone to bed. I do understand that the staff operating the buses and transportation are not to blame, but to the operational team in charge, my critical feedback is that they need more consistent and clear communication and if the expectation is to do messaging via WhatsApp they need to make that clear right from the start and also to send the information earlier. And not give out conflicting information about pickup and drop off times. We left in such a rush and feeling very overwhelmed and panicked that it did impact our overall experience in a very negative way.

On a positive note, the actual tour and our guide, Marco, throughout Machu Picchu itself was stellar, an incredibly educational and breathtaking experience. Our guide was wonderful and so gracious and taught us so much. He absolutely elevated our experience and made it so enriching and immersive with all the inside knowledge he shared with our group. Would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone because of him! Give Marco a raise!!!

        Mother-daughter trip in early February.
Very easy to contact the tour company, pick up right on time, bus very comfy for 1h30 one-way. Everything was incredibly well organized and easy for us, we had the most wonderful and care-free time.
Our tour guide was Lubi (Ludovico), he was incredibly patient and knowledgable, he was always waiting for the group and gave us enough time to enjoy and shared so much information!!
I totally recommend this tour for a care free day to see one of the wonders of the world!! Also, we really enjoyed the 360 train with snacks and meals for free, very incredible train ride!! (Sit on the Left side to go and right side to come back to enjoy the Urubamba river and moutains)

To go there we left from cusco, the train was very expansif, for just an hour and half, plus we stay overnight the day before,
If you visit very early machu picchu it is ok it is cooler but you could have the fog and the fog often stay on for many hours and it is time for you to,leave the place and to return
Very expensif very. Nice but it is rocks.
Please read a lot about the place so it will be more interesting
But it is a place tomsee

Heading to Machu Picchu was amazing, but the tour itself was hectic. The original pick-up at the hotel was great, but once you get to the gates to travel around Machu Picchu its hectic finding your group and its impersonal. Our guide, once we got there, was great though! I just felt like it could have been better organized, especially since I had to pay $350 for the day tour. Also, the ride back was late and I wish there were able to offer at least bottled water during the long journey

Dear Darsha S, Thank you so much for taking the time to make this review and sharing your experience with us, we appreciate each of your comments and we are sorry about the points you weren’t happy about. Usually control documentation points (train admissions or Machu Picchu gates) may be hectic due to the amount of visitors and unfortunately our staff or other agencies staff is not allowed to enter or assist passengers in restricted zones, of course warning of control points where passengers must go alone are explained in advance, once inside the citadel guides make sure all of the booked passengers are complete. We truly appreciate the positive comments about our guide and Machu Picchu itself, this feedback is very valuable for us. Regarding the reference of the beverage, unfortunately this tour doesn’t include any food or beverages but passengers are free to take snacks for the day, the train company also offers a little snack but just while on the train anyhow we are having this observation in mind. Once again, we regret the incidents that took place in your excursion. Our area will continue working in order to assure our services quality and enforce communications. Kind Regards Quality Department Viajes Pacífico

We used viajes pacifico for our tour to Machu Pichu . We were very pleased with the whole experience !! , a very friendly service, highly professional and stress free.
Our guide Manuel was excellent !! He explain everything and answered every single question. We highly recommend its services, they picked us up from our hotel on time , left a reminder at reception and email the day before regarding the pick up time and they were waiting for us at the station and made us feel well looked after.
Again , highly recommend it if you are looking for a tour company during your holidays in Cusco.

Very happy about the whole experience with VIPAC. Local tour operator sent us several messages the day before to notify us of his arrival time at our hotel. Private van took us directly to the train station where we began the two-hour bus trip to another train station to board the train to Machu Picchu. Everything was so well coordinated. The guide at Machu Picchu was also knowledgeable and courteous. A very memorable day! Highly recommended!

First I'll start by saying that overall the experience was amazing and I happily give the company a raring of 4 out of 5. We originally had reservations for July 14 but somehow ministry of culture was slow reporting our passports...this lead to us having to change days to the 15th but I commend paulo for getting us all set up with necessary tickets at last minute. Our tour guide for Machu Pichu was named Johnny and somehow we ended up getting a private tour which was cool. Johnny was very knowledgeable and gave us a great 2 hour tour which was just right. Note...pretty hot ..bring a hat and wear cool clothing. The 4am start time was early but necessary to take the 10am slot for the park. Seems like the afternoon was way more crowded so do the morning shift if you can handle it.

*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
