About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- lizhP3356ZG0 contributionsA Delicious Taste of QuitoThe perfect excursion for foodies who enjoy a little history. Our tour began with a specialty coffee tasting. We sampled delicious blends and learned a lot about what makes specialty coffee so unique. Then we toured one of Quito’s markets and tried some AMAZING local fruit. Then we had lunch at a stunning restaurant that had the best swordfish I’ve ever had. We closed our tour with an authentic Ecuadorian chocolate tasting. Absolutely delicious and so informative! A huge thank you to our amazing guide Fernando! His incredible knowledge of the city, the culture, and the history of Quito made for a truly fascinating tour! Exactly the type of guide you want to spend the day with. Cannot recommend this tour and guide enough!Written 18 September 2024
- stoyanf20200 contributionsAngel of oursAngel was an amazing tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about Kyoto and the equator. We had our three month old baby with us and he was incredibly patient and kind with us. Always offering to help with the baby and also to help with the stroller. Angel made this trip incredibly memorable and we are so grateful for him.Written 5 August 2024

Took my family of 14 including 6 grandkids ages 8-17 to this lodge for an incredible experience totally unique to anything they see in the US. The staff were friendly and helpful with good food and great daytime experiences and guides. The facilities were luxurious and very comfortableWritten 18 July 2024

- Diana4420 contributionsFood tour in QuitoAs a first timer in Ecuador, I was so happy to get oriented to Quito with a food tour there with Rebecca Adventure Travel. As well as sampling amazing coffee, fruits, empanadas, ice cream, canelazo (traditional spiced hot drink) and even llama (!), we got to learn a bit about the city, its colonial centre, and visit a church. The guide was super knowledgeable and fun, and it was a great experience.Written 16 May 2024
- Erik R0 contributionsFantastic Adventure in EcuadorJust got back from a great trip to Ecuador organized for us by Rebecca Adventure Travel. We did so much cool stuff that I couldn’t even really process it all until we got home and looked at pictures! Everything went exactly as the itinerary described. We arrived in Quito, flew to Coca the next morning for five amazing days in the Amazon, returned to Quito where we had a great walking tour and a half day cooking class that was an unexpectedly great experience and then for the grand finale, an eight day cruise on a 16 passenger boat in the Galapagos. Amazon hikes, snorkeling in the Galapagos, exploring Quito. It was absolutely fantastic. My only complaint is that I love snorkeling, but it now might be ruined for me forever because I can’t possibly imagine better snorkeling than in the Galapagos; there were times when we were in the middle of huge schools of tropical fish while multiple turtles swam amongst us. Marine iguanas, sea lions and even penguins swimming just inches from us while sharks patrolled the bottom. It was incredible. And each one of our guides were top notch! Super friendly and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend letting Rebecca help you plan an amazing Ecuador trip!Written 21 April 2024
- 320keithr0 contributionsEcuador: A marvelous place to see and to beOur planned 9-day trip to Ecuador was cut short because one of us had problems with the combination of elevation and curvy travel--something we should have considered more carefully in making our plans. But if you can stand and acclimate to that, as the other could after years living in Colorado, Ecuador is a marvelous place, and the way our trip ended actually shows something about why that's so. You might think a 5 rating is a bit odd for our experience, but it's reasonable to think all the good in our trip came from Rebecca's excellent planning, while the downsides came from our inexperience. There was an awful lot of driving from place to place, more than we expected, on bumpy, curvy roads. Had we understood the prevalence of this kind of travel, we would have asked for a less ambitious agenda, since the combination of much motion and high altitude eventually led to one of us becoming severely and chronically nauseated. And yet it became very plain that the trip as planned would have been an astonishing experience. One of us, at least, plans to return. While we were there and healthy, everything was wonderful, including especially our guide, Christian. He knew all the ins and outs of getting us to good places with a good plan and had gracious, complete answers for all our questions about what we were seeing and experiencing. When the nausea hit, he was invaluable and indispensible, going far above the call of duty to help us negotiate getting to a doctor and communicating with the medical staff, then interpreting for us by phone so that we did not have to rely on our own Spanish, which was not really adequate for that particular situation. And then he helped us navigate the quiet back rooms of the Quito airport where we could find the people who could help us rebook our flight home most efficiently. I give Rebecca highest marks for selecting spots that met our desire to come to understand well the magnificent and varied landscape around the Avenue of the Volcanos. They also found ideal, unique and varied places for us to stay, places where we never had to have any concern about the food or water and could enjoy the local settings in complete safety, and yet that were embedded in the local culture rather than being the standard "gringo" hotels. We had many amazing moments--like when a juvenile Andean condor flew right over our heads in the Altisana National Park, or the entire time at the Papallacta hot springs. We will remember Ecuador mainly as a remarkably beautiful place filled with amiable, resourceful people and universally friendly and happy dogs (which we think also reflects well on the people). But also as a place that demands a certain level of hardiness to enjoy fully, a bit beyond the reach of one of us, at least.Written 2 April 2024
- DarthSontin0 contributions9 Day Colonial Quito and Galapagos Adventure TripWe are so happy we booked our trip with Rebecca Adventure Travel. We were able to customize our itinerary, and Maggy did a great job helping plan and organize our trip. Once we landed in Ecuador, we got daily Whatsapp updates letting us know what time and where we would need to be for the next activity or transfer. The Galapagos Islands are a truly one-of-a-kind place in the world. We expected to see some animals here and there, but the entire experience felt like we were immersed in an incredible world constantly surrounded by animals. San Isabella was far and away our favorite part of the trip, with snorkelling in Los Tuneles and the Sierra Negra volcano hike as two standouts. We also got to witness one of the best sunsets we've ever seen. The guides were great and knew where to find the best animals, including the illusive seahorse that likes to hide at the bottom.Written 31 March 2024
- 246carisam0 contributionsAwesome Quito Family ExperienceOur family of seven thoroughly enjoyed our tour with our guide, Gloria! Gloria arranged the itinerary to perfectly meet our late morning start by heading to Pululahua first so we had a beautiful view and gorgeous weather. Then we visited the Equator Museum which was so interesting, education and included many photo opts on the equator and hands-on experiments. We had delicious private lunch and then toured the Old City of Quito. Gloria is a wealth of knowledge and such a pleasant person to spend the day with! She took so many pictures for us so we will never forget this very special experience. We highly recommend this tour and could not have had a better experience!Written 26 March 2024

- C1449PEamandas0 contributionsFantastic, fun and fascinating tripWe had a terrific time and saw so many interesting, beautiful and amazing things. Rebecca Adventure Travel planned everything well, and communicated very effectively. Our tour guide, Daniel, was extremely knowledgable about culture, history, plants, animals and more. He took great care of us. The Cotapaxi lagoon hike was peaceful and pretty. The ride to Quilatoa crater lake and exploring Llanganates park were fascinating - Ecuadorian agriculture is quite impressive, and the people are so resourceful. The basic Amazon Lodge and canyoning were a highlight of the trip - super fun. Our tour was private, so made an extra stop at the Thursday morning Saquasili market, which was a fantastic way to see the fruits, vegetables, fish, meat and other foods of Equador, and to mix with the local people. We also added the Guango lodge onto our tour, where we saw about 10 species of hummingbirds, and a torrent duck - a very impressive swimmer in the current and rapids! There were lots of gorgeous things to look at around Banos, such as the Pailon del Diablo waterfall. The Banos zoo was really terrific - it's not only got very active, interactive animals, but the views from the zoo are great. It was also fun to walk around in Banos in the evenings.Written 15 January 2024

Dec 2021
We had a great tour in December 2021 booked with Rebecca Adventure Travel. Although we were unlucky with the weather on the first day (Cotopaxi) we had an amazing overnight stay in hysteria Papagayo near Quito and an amazing day at the Quilotoa crater lake. All transportation and meals were as described and the communication before and during booking was excellent. Highly recommended!

I traveled to Ecuador this past month and enjoyed 3 separate tours through Rebecca Travel Adventures - not listed here as the tours were booked separately. The group communicated with me regularly to ensure everything was up to date - timely, and I was going where I needed to be going. They arranged for drivers for me to and from the different locations, (not tour buses!!), and arranged guides for each hike. I took in Quilotoa, El Altar, and Cotopaxi!! All must see. It was me and my guide the entire time. They took the time to make sure my trip was planned to my exact specifications. I would highly recommend them to help you in planning your trip!

Fantastic trip to Cotopaxi. Our guide, Santiago, was very accommodating, stopping the van at just the right spot to take advantage of clearing skies for photos. Also, the overnight at Hosteria Papagayo was a delightful surprise, with a cozy cottage and Raul lighting a fire in the stove for us. Highly recommend, especially the Cotopaxi portion of the tour.

We really enjoyed the Cotopaxi tour. The meeting place was disorganized since the restaurant we were supposed to meet at wasn't open at the assigned time and the guide wasn't there on time either... but once everything got going the first day was a great tour. The park and mountain are amazing and well worth seeing. The climbing was very strenuous but rewarding (total climb was 1800 ft, but at an altitude of 16,000 ft that's substantial). I'm an avid mountain biker and still I'd say the bike part of the tour was not really worthwhile and is really only safe for people with mountain bike experience. Several people crashed but nobody was injured. It was on a loose washboard gravel road which is pretty easy to wipe out on. The overnight lodging at Papagayo was excellent, I'd like to stay there again. The second day of the tour again the logistics were not thought through. The tour vehicle that picked us up was nice but there was no place for luggage. We ended up tying it the roof wrapped in garbage bags in case of rain, and luckily it didn't rain, but this could have been a big problem. The organized should remember that people going on a two day tour will have luggage and there needs to be somewhere inside the vehicle to put it. The second day of the tour to Quilotoa was also great once it got going. In my opinion not as impressive as Cotopaxi. Also there are many hours of driving involved but the scenery is very interesting.
