Diego was a real great guide. He was willing to hike in a terrible hail/rain/wind storm up to the refuge but we turned back after a few minutes because it was impossible! He was patient with taking photos and doing a smaller hike at the lake.
Make sure to layer up because it's really cold up there!!! We went to the parking lot at approx. 14,500 ft. and there was sleet and wind! The wind was so strong I could barely stand up and the sleet hitting my face felt like glass shards.
Our guide, Diego, was great. He was willing to do whatever we liked. The weather did not cooperate and we never saw the volcano. It was snowing at 15,000 feet. Lunch was hood.
Everything was wonderful except that the weather wasn't my friend. Due to the horrible weather that day I couldn't climb to the summit. The weather in Quito is very unpredictable. The guide, transportation, and service was excellent.
