Cajon del Maipo and El Yeso Dam from Santiago
From USD 82.00
Liberate your senses from Santiago’s metropolitan bustle on a 9-hour tour of Cajon del Maipo and the El Yeso Dam (Embalse El Yeso) from Santiago. In a small group limited to nine, you’ll travel into the Chilean Andes and visit natural highlights such as Cajon del Maipo, a narrow canyon through which the Maipo River flows, and El Yeso Dam (Embalse El Yeso), a turquoise body of water which reveals views of snow-capped peaks. WIne and cheese samples, and hotel pickup and drop-off are included.
What to Expect
After picking up the hotel, the first stop is San José de Maipo, a small and picturesque village founded in 1792. After a walk, you will continue to Cajón del Maipo and El Yeso Dam (Embalse El Yeso), the main source of fresh water for Santiago.
During the trip, you will see a glacier; flora and fauna typical of the area; and a wonderful Andean mountain system that continues to evolve. In the reservoir, you will have time to enjoy the wonderful landscape, accompanied by a cheese tasting.
On the way back to Santiago, there will be time for a late lunch in a typical mountain restaurant (included).
The visit concludes with the delivery of the hotel.

Lovely organized day-trip

Had a great time visiting El Yeso Dam from Santiago. The trip was very well organized and our guide Daniel was very fluent in English and Spanish. Had a lovely trip with even a wine and cheese platter on the way home.

Great day

I went today with Trinidad (guide) and Victor (driver). It was a fantastic day and an amazing experience. We were given a thorough, clear, and comprehensive explanation if everything by Trinidad and the scenery was spectacular.

I believe the bus I went on had a luggage bay underneath. Best thing to do is contact Turistik directly for both of your questions .
