          Excellent day exploring Maipo
We enjoyed an excellent day out exploring some of the best estates of the Maipo Valley with our professional and experienced guide. We were picked up by Carolina at our hotel and quickly off to our first visit. The vehicle was comfortable and cooled for a summer day out. The logistics were perfect and everything was curated for a top rate experience. Carolina knowledgeably provided history, context, and key information ahead of every stop. She also set us up with a perfect lunch table overlooking a beautiful garden. I was able to fully relax and just enjoy the day since we were in good hands with our guide. I'd highly recommend working with Carolina and this tour.

          Delight full wine tour
It was a great visit to three very good wineries. The wineries were generous with the wine portions for the tasting. The guide, Christian, had a very good knowledge of wine and was a great complement to the tour at each winery. This is a very exclusive tour, and lunch at the wineries was my best meal in Chile.

Extra special wine and food tour!
One of the best wine tours we have done! We were so lucky to have Gerald as our guide. He was very professional, extremely knowledgeable about wine and really great at communication. It’s obvious that he loves what he does. Started off the day with a lovely breakfast in the garden of a local artist which was so interesting. Then on to several wineries and a delicious lunch of local foods in another private garden. We especially appreciated that Gerald really took the time to find out what types of wine we wanted to try and then made sure that we were able to experience that. It was truly a fabulous day!

Tour Privado - Casablanca !! Private visit to 3 vineyards
The experience was amazing. Felipe was a great guide and connoisseur of the region and the vineyards. The places we visit were all unique and different which gave us a different taste and knowledge. I appreciated the flexibility since we arrive suddenly and Felipe was able to plan the tour within 24 hours and it was spectacular !! Gracias Felipe!! You made us love wine even more!!!

          Recommend for Maipo Region
I would recommend this group without hesitation. Felipe and team are very welcoming and accommodating to your particular needs. I went horseback trail riding with someone from his team. Everyone made me feel welcome to the Maipo region and taught me so much about the area. They took great pictures of the experience on a professional camera. Also, had a great bottle of wine to enjoy at a beautiful rest stop.

Unique and intimate private wine tour of Maipo Valley wineries
Excellent guide and driver, great knowledge of the wine and region but also you get a great history lesson of Chile at the same time. The 3 wineries they take you to and excellent and our guide Cristian knew the staff personally. Lunch at the Santa Rita property was also excellent. Driving from Felipe was safe and good, only thing is the car is not luxury for the price you pay for a private trip. Other wine tours I’ve had would have a more luxury transportation. But overall an outstanding day out.

The wine and food was good, the company was exceptional
We had a wonderful day wine tasting with Christian (our tour guide) and Felipe (the driver and an owner of the company). We chose this tour specifically because we were looking for more wine tasting and were not interested in extensive tours of wineries and vineyards. We visited four wineries. Christian told us about each winery and we had one glass of wine at three of the wineries and a flight of three wines at one winery. We started the day at the charming house of a local artist, who prepared breakfast for us. It felt really special to be sharing food in someone’s home rather than at a restaurant. She showed us her art and her husband’s panadería, operated out of a small building on the property. Lunch felt similarly special as we visited another home. The family there runs a B&B in the back and we had an excellent meal prepared by the matriarch. It included asparagus soup, lasagna, and preserved fruit from their property. The real highlight of the day was Christian, our guide, who was a wealth of knowledge about Chile and Chilean culture. He wears many hats: video game storyteller, sommelier, winery tour guide (at a winery in addition to this tour). He has also worked making wine and has an extensive interest and knowledge of Chilean history. I felt that we learned so much, not only about Chilean wine and winemaking, but also about the history and culture of Chile. If we are lucky enough to come back to Chile, we will definitely reserve another tour with Maipo Valley Wine Tours!

Amazing Experience! I cannot recommend strongly enough
My wife and I signed up for two tours with the company, the little wine bus and the Maipo Valley for wine lovers. We ended up being the only customers so we had two amazing private tours! Both were fantastic. Felipe was our driver and Cristian was our tour guide. Both spoke amazing English, had worked at wineries in the area, and were incredibly knowledgeable about wine. Everything exceeded our expectations. We went on tours with other providers while in Santiago but the service here was the best. Felipe and Cristian were waiting inside the lobby of our hotel to make sure we were prepared for the full-day excursions. On other tours, the van barely stopped at the curb and we had to hop on quickly. Felipe stocked the van with plenty of water so we could hydrate between wineries. He also had wine and glasses in the van us in case we wanted to enjoy vino between locations. Both trips included intimate meals with locals in the area (an artist/bakery owner and a shop owner). It was great to have conversations with someone outside of Santiago to get a different perspective on Chilean life. Felipe was so thoughtful that when I casually mentioned I like craft beer on the first tour he planned a quick stop at a craft brewery for the second day!

Best 2 days of wine touring ever
My wife and I booked 2 private wine tours (Maipo Valley and Colchagua Valley) with Maipo Valley Wine Tours. We have done wine tours in New Zealand, Australia, California and Niagara Canada and these Chilean tours were definitely the best we have done to date. If we could give them 10 stars out of 5 we would as we can not imagine how our experience could have been any better. We worked out the details for the 2 trips via email with Juan who set us up with 3 wineries and lunch each day. Juan was easy to work with and was helpful with information on staying and eating in Santiago and on local customs (tipping, best time to book dinners, travel stuff). Each of the wineries Juan suggested had a slightly different feel, from large and modern to smaller and more intimate and each offered something in addition to a tour of the winery itself and wine tasting (most with 5 or fewer people) such as a drive through the vineyards or a guided walk through the grounds or gardens or a collection of native artifacts. Like the wineries, the two restaurants Juan booked for lunch each day were also very different from each other. The food was excellent at both, but one was a very modern outdoor bistro overlooking the winery while the other was in a heritage building where we ate on a large veranda overlooking a garden. On our first day we were met by our driver extraordinaire Filipe and our very knowledgeable wine tour guide Christian, both who spoke excellent English. Filipe is an excellent driver and made sure we were hydrated and comfortable and on time for all our tours. Christian works at a winery (not one in the areas we visited) and is well versed in Chilean wines, history and culture. On the way to the wineries, he gave us information on the wine and the winery as well as the history of Chile and day to day life in Chile. He seemed to know someone at every winery we visited and made sure we were well looked after. At each of the wineries, he introduced us to the winery tour guide, collected us after the tour and confirmed our lunch reservation at the restaurant. He was also very helpful selecting wines which we bought to enjoy on our South American cruise. He made sure to find us the best wines and the best years and as we drank the wines on the cruise, we appreciated his selections. You could not have a better team to do wine tours from Santiago and we consider them more than just tour guides, we consider them our friends.

Tour the Maipo Valley wine region as one of the family!
On Juan's recommendation, on the last day of our 3 months in South America, we decided to do the Little Wine Bus tour, and asked them to drop us at the airport when we were finished. We usually prefer a private tour because my Dad has limited mobility, which slows everything down for everyone, but as it turned out there was no one else on our tour anyway. We were met in our hotel lobby by our guide, Maipo Valley local Cristian, after introducing himself, and then doing most of the work loading our luggage into the Little Wine Bus, we headed off from Santiago. Cristian provided a comprehensive and engaging commentary along the way covering everything from the day's schedule to the history, geography and the varietals of the region and everything in between. We started with a beautiful, intimate brunch at the home and studio of acclaimed Maipo Valley artist Constanza Mayo, where Cristian was greeted like an intimate friend, and us as his close personal friends - a trend that continued throughout the whole day. We visited a number of brilliant wineries, all quite different from each other, showing the vast diversity and contrasts of the region, and at each we tasted a selection of their wines that showcased the specific different aspects of their wines. At each, us being invited in like close family because we were there with Cristian. We did a wine flight at one, a full tour if the winery grounds, vineyard and cellars at one, and sat in the private cellar and tasting room at another. Between winery visits we stopped for a lovely lunch at one of the local restaurants, the food was excellent, and Cristian also pulled out one of the premium wines from the winery we'd just visited to accompany it. The day was fantastic right to the very end, where our driver and guide unpacked our bags from the bus at the airport and we parted with warm, heartfelt hugs.

Great priavte one-day wine tour in Maipo Valley
The tour was so fun and I enjoyed it very much. I traveled alone, but my private guide Christian and driver/coordinator Felipe kept me very good company. We visited three wineries in Maipo valley. I have done tastings in each of them. Each of the estates has its own characteristics and beautiful architectures, and great wines of course. During the trip, Chrisitan shared a lot of wine knowledge with me as well as interesting facts about the city and the country.

Excellent tour and amazing guide ! A perfect day.
Extraordinary perfect day! Our guide Christian was amazing. He was so very knowledgeable about wines, the wineries and the area. He is a trained sommelier and it was clear that everyone at the wineries knows him - he made the day very special. The lunch at Dona Paola was very good. Everything is included.

bike tour of Isla de Maipo
We did an all-day bike tour of Isla de Maipo with Christian, and had a great day biking through towns and the countryside, through vineyards, visiting local artists, stopping for lunch, and culiminating with a wine tour at the impressive Santa Ema winery. Definitely recommend Felipe's tours for a genuine local experience!

Incredible day! We did so much but it was never rushed.
Great to meet local residents for breakfast. The horse riding was pitched at a good level for our skill set. As we are 1 experienced rider and not beginner, it balanced not being too basic as we got to ride through the river & up hills and got an opportunity to run, but it was still accessible enough for a new rider.

The bbq & wine lunch was so tasty and the views stunning.

The vineyard was a large commercial one but still family owned and our guide there was very knowledgeable.

Our guide for the day, Gerald, was so knowledgeable and gave us great tips for our next day in the city & onwards travel.

Only point to note is we booked a private tour & felt the price was quite reflective of that. Our transport was private but the riding & winery tour was with another party of 2. This might be because we booked last minute & so were fitted into another tour (which is much better than no tour at all). It wasn’t a problem & we had an incredible time but the other party had different objectives to us (e.g. we didn’t feel we could ask lots of questions on the wine tour as they wanted to rush through to the tasting), so we might’ve got more out of the tour if it had been private, as we booked.

Regardless of that specific situation, we would highly recommend this company and tour. An absolute highlight of the trip.

Hello again Sarah, I hope you’re doing great, thanks a lot for your extended comment and rating. Very rewarding for us you had a great time and enjoyed the ride and other services. Now, I owe you a sincere apology. Yes, our tours are private. The truth is that you didn’t get what you bought and I would like to see how can I compensate you for that. When you buy a private tour you need to be able to tailor the experience to your style, time and desires and our attention should be focused on your needs and not those of others. Period. It doesn’t matter at all that you made a last minute booking. Imagine! We have had everything from marriage proposals to important business deals... A private tour is a private tour. Due to unforeseen circumstances that are not relevant to mention here, I have learned about this situation when I read your commentary now. Otherwise, logically, I would have warned you beforehand that you had to share the ride with another couple so that you could choose whether to do it or not. I’ll contact you personally. Thank you very much for your understanding, your good attitude and your exquisite politeness. We appreciate it very much. Best wishes, Juan

We only had one day in Chile, and we are so thrilled we spent it doing this awesome tour! Felipe picked us up from the hotel and drove us to the Maipo River Valley, all the while Felipe was explaining what we were seeing along the way. We were able to drive past many towns surrounded by the beautiful mountainous backdrop of the area.
When we arrived to the river valley, we met our horses and our horse guide Adolfo. Felipe and Adolfo took great care in setting us up on the horses and adjusting our saddles. They offered us ponchos in case we got cold. Felipe has clean bathrooms available to use prior to the ride (which was nice!). The horses were nicely kept, very tame and gentle.

The actual ride was really amazing! They take you through parts of the town and you get to see some cute country homes, then you start the trek heading into the river area. The whole ride is quite beautiful!! My friend and I were amazed that you get to go into the water, not just by the side of the river, but you go thru the river and cross it multiple times! It was really exhilarating Crossing 3-4 feet of water!
There was a sweet young family on the ride with us that day, and they had their 6 and 7 year old girls with them. They rode their own horses and were perfectly safe. They tied those horses to lead horses and Felipe and Adolfo made sure they were safe the entire time. I simply state that in case you are a novice rider!
We stopped for a rest and enjoyed some water, wine and small snacks that Felipe provided for us. That area is we’re we spotted the wild horses, which was surreal! Beyond beautiful to watch!

Then it was back to town and onto our lunch…at a quaint Bed & Breakfast at a working farm. The lady there cooked us a homemade lunch with fresh juice! She had peacocks roaming thru the farm which made it extra fun.
After lunch we headed to the final part of the tour which was a visit to the Undurraga Wine Vineyard. That was truly awesome. The Vineyard had gorgeous gardens and a very interesting guide to take you thru the vast vineyard complex. We finished the tour with a wine tasting that featured many great wines.

On our way back to the hotel, Felipe was kind enough to stop by an empanada stand and we got to take some big traditional empanadas back with us. Felipe was a great guide and made sure everything was really perfect!
I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for an exciting day in a beautiful natural setting with amazing views!! Plus, you finish it off with some world class wine!

Heeeey Lorena! Thanks a lot for your comment. You gave some very important information for our futur guests!! Other than that “the whole ride is beautiful and you spotted wild horses, which was surreal! I simply state that in case you are a novice rider! Great! That as you said is very important for beginners!! Thanks so much for writing this extended and helping comment. Very rewarding. Honestly this tour and Felipe and Christian are amazing. I organised this for my girlfriend’s birthday and it was perfect. This was my first time riding a horse and they made me feel very safe and comfortable and in no time I was enjoying it and was riding naturally. The whole experience was perfect and both Felipe and Christian are very knowledgeable and speak English perfectly. Spend the little extra money to do this and you won’t regret it.

Tour was amazing! What better than getting the local experience with a winery to end the tour! Christian and Amanda were fantastic tour guides, versatile with English and Spanish languages; and quite professional/intelligent tour guides. Don Mario was fabulous. He speaks Spanish and I was able to understand him well. This made our tour a lot more personal and getting to know the local, country people of Chile. It was amazing! I highly recommend; getting on that horse, passing those lakes to a perfect picnic spot. It was quite the charm.

I highly recommend them for any tour as they strike me as very savvy and knowledgeable tour guides.

Hello again! We're glad you enjoyed the experience. One of the things we really like is when our guests say that you value getting to know the local people. As when you mentioned Don Mario, the wrangler because the truth is that he really knows the best spots of the hills and the river and his horses are fantastic. I'll tell him right away that you have enjoyed his company. Thks again and kind regards!

It was just me and my girlfriend on this tour. We were picked up at our hotel exactly at the time they said they would be there, and had our own private ride to Felipe's place for breakfast. We had freshly made quac, free range eggs, wine, coffee, and homemade jam with bread. All so sweet and good. Christian then took my girlfriend and I to pick up the horses and we rode around in the Maipo Valley and Maipo River for about 2 hours. Our horse guide, was very attentive to both of us, and kept us safe. He let us gallop with the horses which wouldn't have been allowed in the US. We saw a couple wild horses as well! So cool. Christian cooked us some local beef/pork/sausage on an open fire, provided us with wine, some country music, and water. Christian had so much knowledge of the Chile, the area, politics, wine, everything! The communication by Maipo Valley Wine Tours was spot on, perfect. We loved the company so much we did a second day with them to visit the top 3 wineries. Highly recommend this company. Safe, perfect English, exactly as described. Thank you much for this experience.

This tour is really 4 separate experiences. including transportation from our hotel to isla de maipo and back. First we had breakfast at a local business, then we rode horses along the river, in the middle of the horseback ride Cristian and Felipe grilled lunch for us, then we did a vineyard and winery tour. I enjoyed the horseback ride and lunch by the river best. But the whole experience was very good.

It was a wonderful experience, Felipe and Cristian took care of everything and made the day unforgettable. Felipe picked us up at the hotel and on the way we picked up Cristian, then they took us to have breakfast at Cony (who makes some spectacular wire sculptures) and then we continued on our way and arrived at Adolfo who had our horses ready for us and thus began a new adventure on horseback, Cristian and Adolfo guided us while Felipe prepared the food. On the way back we stopped where Felipe was and had lunch on the banks of the river and then we continued on our way back to leave the horses. Then we follow the
Undurraga vineyards, another unforgettable experience (Cristian and Felipe were waiting for us) and then they dropped us back at the hotel.

Thank you very much Guys for the laughter, the wine and the barbecue,

This excursion was the highlight of our trip! The listed excursion wasn’t exactly what we were looking for and Philipe created an itinerary perfect for us! The transportation was prompt, clean, and comfortable. Our guide, Christian, was so fun and informative! We learned so much from him! The horseback riding was so fun and the horses were obviously well loved and cared for. The lunch was one of the best meals of our trip! We also enjoyed wine tastings at 3 wineries and they were all amazing! The communication from this company was also excellent! Thanks for a wonderful day!

We had the best day ever with Christian and Felipe. The horseback ride was amazing ( especially the BBQ at the top of the mountain) and the wine tour had great wines. Christian and Felipe both are excellent in English and go out of their way to make sure you have a great day. Every thing is very well organized ( from the moment of booking) and highly recommended.

This experience was beyond our expectations. Everyone was very personable and nothing felt commercialized. It was a true authentic Chilean adventure. The horses were incredible, food was excellent and the wine was fantastic. Would highly recommend, especially if looking to plan a short day trip from Santiago!
