Informative & Interactive tour
Sep. 2021
I had the honour to visit Battlebox earlier in September.
George hosted my friends and I during the tour and he made the tour exciting, informative and definitely interactive.

It is a half hour guided tour that takes us through the different rooms and highlights of what to look out for. After that we were left to explore the history behind the Battlebox & the war. It is insightful as there are alot of details that were not taught or shared in schools' syllabus.

This is a private museum and no photography or videography is allowed. And we definitely respect the privacy of this place. Hence, if you would like to find out more. Please do check this out.

Live WWII in the Battle box

Battle box is an amazing experience that transports you to world War 2, signifying Singapore's role during those turbulent times.
Relive, imagine , experience first hand the conditions under which the Battle with the Japaness was planned, fought and eventually surrendered. The story is interestingly told using video footage, pictures, models and rare archives.
Must visit !

Great Historical Adventure
One of the best historical experiences I've ever been to and recommended to most of my friends.
I learnt so much and with the personal tour guide, we really had a great time - the Battlebox tells of the battles over Singapore and I learnt so much.

The underground bunker is in the exact state from almost 80yrs ago and there's many artifacts from the war days in excellent condition.

Understanding Our Forefathers Understanding Singapore
Mar. 2021
It gave me a deeper insight of the events and also helped me appreciate more on what happened during that time.
My Grandfather was Capt Noor Mohd Hashim and was given a place at Kranji for his efforts during the war after he was exhumed from his original resting place at the Bidadari Cemetery in the 1990's. Being one of the First Asian Civil servant that rose from the ranks of a "pion" to an officer under/in British the Civil Service. He was transferred from Penang to Singapore way before the war began. I listened to stories told by my late grandmother and relatives as to how they were evacuated to India by sea in the last few days before Singapore fell .and their return to Singapore after the war. The endurance and plight of being refugees and the events of the war.
My Grandfather being an officer in the civil service as well as an active uniform personnel as with many others was interrogated by the occupying forces and eventually succumbed to his death. The tour gave me a better insight of the matters and is different from watching a documentary. For me it was personal , nevertheless it is worth the effort and to know Singapore is not just to know it of what it is today but to know it from what it was made from,.. Hats off to the restoration of the Battlebox for which I'm sure my grandfather would have served in or within the vicinity and the tour guide .A historical place and its existence a testimony and tribute to all those who served and lived in that era.

Family visit to Battlebox
Mar. 2021 • Family
Brought my secondary school kids to the Battlebox to get a better understanding of Singapore history.

The historical facts were well researched and presented. The addition of air conditioning to the Battlebox helped to make the visit a bearable one even though the condition in the past was much poorer from the look of the sawn off top sections of the doors.

Highly recommended for secondary school students to visit this attraction to get a more complete view of Singapore history.

Worth visiting, nothing like the other museums
Jan. 2021
My family and I had a wonderful time visiting the Battlebox today. As Singaporeans, we learnt so much about the history of Singapore and it was very interesting to listen to the very kind and knowledgeable Helena who showed us around, sharing information and stories. It was also nice to see old artefacts, building structures and lovely watching all the old films. This 2.5hrs tour was nothing like the other museums and highly recommended for all to visit.

Informative guided tour of the actual bunker and the events about the battle of Singapore
Dec. 2020
The 30 minutes guided tour of the underground bunker is informative and also debunked / clarified some myths about some issues regarding the Battle of Singapore such as "Were the big coastal guns located in the south of the island turned around to fire at the japanese positions in the north"?

The tour gave a rather detailed background story to how the war came to Singapore and the events leading to the eventual surrender of Singapore.

After the guided tour, you are free to explore the bunker yourself. There are also some short videos of the actual scenes during the war.

The entire bunker is air conditioned as well.

Do note that no photos / videos are allowed to be taken in the bunker.

A Good History Lesson
Nov. 2020
I was very impressed with the level of information found in the Battlebox. Information is on the walls and by video and they map sends you through the bunker in the correct chronological route.

Take your time and do this properly and you will find it very informative, i used nearly 2 hours in here.

The staff were very knowledgeable and extremely friendly.
