          Day City Tour of Jakarta
Our guide Thomas was prompt, professional, well informed and taught us a lot about the history of Indonesia as well as the culture and religion. Also introducing us to the cuisine between the many stops at all major points of interest . A varied tour with a mix of history , culture and fun. Recommend the Batavia restaurant stop for coffee and cake. Also the puppet workshop.

          Excellent tour
Nanda, my guide, was excellent. She spoke exceptional English and was very knowledgeable about Jakarta, its politics, history, and culture. I learned so much from her during this trip and saw so many interesting parts of Jakarta that I would never have managed to do on my own as the city is so very big. I highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Jakarta.

          MITCHELL
MITCHELL. Was our guide and Yono our driver . Punctual , clean vehicle , flexible to meet our needs . Mitchell was outstanding in clearly and comprehensively answering our many questions and meeting our main objective - a solid understanding of the history and people of Jakarta and broader Indonesia. We spent hours at Monos with many school groups but this was the base - ground zero- for understanding Jakarta. The National Museum is amazing ( as are the many museums at Fatahillah Square) . The mix of driving and walking was good . Mitchell’s traffic control allowed safe transit . Mitchell and Yono’s kindness and warmth made it a day to remember .

Information needs to be communicated more clearly
The guide was great but next time there should be a warning that all museums and major sights are closed on a Monday and all sights I went to were free so this was not value for money. The operator stated the specific monument was closed on a Monday but was not clear that all museums were as well. The guide took me on walking tours and was good but would have changed my day had I known the facts

If you do not know where to start with gigantic Jakarta, this is definitely a good and enjoyable beginning!!
It was a brilliant tour with a knowledgeable tour-guide, who showed passion for his country, its history and social norms. We learned so much and saw a greatly divers part of Jakarta. Our driver was very good in navigating traffic and keeping the car nearby, COOL and also participating in explaining Jakarta to us. Well worth doing.

          An amazing an informative day!
Bryan was fabulous as guide and companion on this trip. Rob was an amazing and fearless driver. We were taken to a lovely waterfall, rice field, market, and the Botanical Gardens and temple. We had a great day! Exceptional conversation and hospitality made for a perfect day of exploration and learning about Indonesia. I highly recommend this trip!

Fabulous day tour of Jakarta - highly recommended!
Vincent and driver Mr Yono picked us up at our hotel and took us on a day-long tour of Jakarta’s main sights. It was incredibly interesting. Vincent led us through the National Museum, pointing out the key artifacts. We visited the huge Istiqlal mosque and the Catholic church across the street. Vincent explained all the sculptures and diaramas at the National Monument, ably responding to our many questions about Indonesian history. We visited chinatown and the temple, again with informative commentary by Vincent. And then we ended the day with a visit to a shadow puppet workshop, a stroll around Batavia and its beautiful square, and a look at the boats in the old harbour. We cannot say enough about how impressed we were with Vincent’s grasp of Indonesian history and culture. He made everything come alive for us!! Meanwhile Mr Yono ably navigated the crazy streets and traffic of Jakarta. Thank you both for a truly enriching experience!

Private tour which gave little insight into the great city of Jakarta poor value for money
This without doubt was the worst tour have booked through trip advisor. We were rushed through the sights with exception of the national monument (the lift to the viewing point was closed which we were aware of) but still only really half a visit. Our guide just appeared to want to get us round the city show us the sights as we drove past and drop us back to the hotel. We did stop in the old town and were taken to a puppet maker/show but it was closed and she then appeared to run out of ideas . We asked to stop off in Chinatown but were told it was not safe and taken to the port to see how Jakarta is sinking. A very unimpressed introduction to Indonesia where the guide/driver were more interested in getting us back to our hotel within the shortened half day blaming it on the traffic. We later returned to Jakarta and spent a beautiful morning walking around the old city, saw museums, tourist sights which we had not seen previously, walked around Chinatown as everyone we had spoken to said it was completely safe and a great experience, they were all absolutely correct. This was an expensive private tour from which we got little or no satisfaction or experience of Jakarta from. To be avoided

Best private tour guide in Jakarta !
Best tour guide in Jakarta! Jeffry my private tour guide had prepared an excellent private tour of Jakarta, my favorite port in Indonesia. He was also flexible and was with me all the time, which was appreciated as it was my first time in Jakarta. A driver was bringing us everywhere. I felt like a queen ! They both were gentlemen; respectful and kind. Jeffry’s knowledge and calmness was much appreciated.

We went on the volcano trip with our two kids (5 and 8). I was very glad that it was just us in the tour as I think it would have been quite uncomfortable for that long in a 8 seater car with more people. They provided water and tissues (which we used as toilet paper at the toilet stops) and were happy to be flexible and accommodated all of our requests. The tour is quite expensive especially for Indonesia and I wonder if they could have saved us significant time and money by asking us (or giving the option) to take the high-speed rail to Bandung and back in 30mins rather than doing the 3-4hr drive.

The tour guide (Benny) was very nice, friendly and spoke pretty good English and has a good amount of knowledge of Indonesian history. He was great with our kids and taught them new words in Bahasa. The driver (Ray) was very safe and considerate. We were picked up at our hotel in Jakarta at 7am and got home at 10pm. The traffic there was fine in the morning, but the evening traffic home was brutal.

Benny made sure that we got several stops to eat: a rest stop area (we got packaged snacks and ice-cream at the alpha mart there), the fruit market and even got us fresh coconuts at the tea plantation, a hot local tea at the volcano and honey pineapple on the way home. We ate a lot! On the drive home he also stopped at McDonalds when we were hungry so we could get ourselves dinner. I think that a dinner stop should definitely be included in the trip given that it goes so late into the night.

I think one significant improvement would be to give people an option for what to eat for lunch. The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL and we were asked if we had any allergies but it would have been nice to choose which appetiser or main dish we would get. Even if we didn't get the whole restaurant menu, a little choice would be nice (for example: noodles vs rice. Tofu/tempeh vs another dish, or a choice in protein for the meal like beef or fish or chicken).

The stop with the tea plantation could have had a bit more information, but we didn't mind as we ended up getting lovely coconuts there. The Luwak tour was very interesting and the hot springs are very beautiful though foreigners should understand that the people there get into the water in literally full clothing. Wearing shorts got me lots of stares, though they stopped soon after.

All in all I would recommend the trip, though it is very expensive. Some of the things we did like the fruit stall, tea plantation (both on the side of a road) and coffee plantation would have cost almost nothing to the tour company so I assume the cost is mostly for the car hire, fuel, hire of the guide and driver. Be prepared for a LONG day, and account for that if you have young kids. Ours were happy sleeping in the back seat but if there had been other people on the trip with us, it would have been harder. Best of luck to Benny and his family for the future!

Definitely worth it! Pick up was at 7am and drop off was at 9:30pm. They picked us up at our hotel located in the central city. Drive to Bandung was 3 hours including a 30 minutes pit stop that has a washroom, a convenience store, and a restaurant where they provided coffee and you can have breakfast at your cost. Exotic fruits were tasty. A wet tissue came in handy to wipe my hands after peeling and eating the fruits. The highlights of the tour is absolutely the volcano. There we had a traditional drink that has many different types of spices and enjoyed the view. Then we had a lunch at a hotel restaurant nearby. We had a lunch on a “boat” and the food was delicious. ayam satai (chicken skewers) that was served came with rice and a peanut sauce salad was better than nasi gorang in my opinion. We had the famous Luwak coffee - it is touristy but at least we checked off the box. It was raining by the time we got to the hot spring; they provided umbrellas. Locals were enjoying the hot spring as well. The massages were cheap but they only had male masseuse (Benj told us that it is because a tourist touched a female masseuse inappropriately 2 months ago) and they were very pushy. We put our feet and it was nice and relaxing. The hot spring is very hot (42 Celsius degrees) so I wouldn’t have enjoyed it for more than 10 minutes if I dipped my entire body. Beni was a great tour guide; he is friendly, witty and nice to talk to. He knows everyone there which helped us to focus on the tour instead of being dragged by merchants trying to sell things to us. Mister Mami was a great driver and friendly. I highly recommend this tour!

The trip was overall well planned and very enjoyable. Rizky, our tour guide, was amazing! He made sure everybody had a great experience on the tour!
The views were beautiful on the road as well, between the different stops. The first one was at a fruit stall, to try some local fruits (snake fruit, dragon fruit, and yellow watermelon were available), then headed to the rice fields/rice drying and prepping workshop- which are conveniently by the road so not much walking (better have comfy shoes though).
The third stop was lunch in a local restaurant (rather big, with buses of local tourists stopping there too for lunch), then the luwak coffee place as it started raining and our guide, Rizky, made the smart decision to change up the schedule so we got to the volcano crater later, when the sky cleared up. The views up the crater were quite unique.
We stopped by some tea plantations on the way to the last activity spot - the hot springs, where you can enjoy a dip in different hot water pools. Many local tourists there as well - we had lovely wholesome interactions with some of them which made the trip even more interesting (Plan to wear a more conservative outfit, rather than a swimsuit, like a t-shirt/shorts for example), as locals dip in entirely clothed in the water pools.
Finally we had a quick snack stop to try honey pineapples before heading back to Jakarta.
I would definitely recommend this tour!

        Tour Date - 22 Feb, 2024

As a solo traveller, I first enquired through Ekaputra Tour website. They emailed quickly to confirm me my spot, but does not charge me yet. Fair enough.

Good communications - Grateful that operator kept me informed and with options.
on 21 Feb early afternoon, Ekaputra Tour texted me by Whatsapp that I am the only person on 22 Feb tour, gave me options to go solo on 22 Feb (if no more new members) or 23 Feb. I said I was open to both. Near 8pm, Ekaputra Tour texted me again that I can go tomorrow due to new participant.

Benny is our wonderful guide and his partner/driver is Mr Mamy. I like their vibes of friendly, banterful partnership.

As a Sundanese local from Subang, Benny shared a lot about himself, local culture, the country, recent happenings/incidents in the area. He is younger than all of us, yet he takes good care of everyone and is just a knowledgeable, humourous, caring person.

As there is only 2 tour members, Benny allowed us more time to stop at a breakfast stop (where I had a delicious Mie godog), then the rice field, fruit market, Queen's crater (appreciate the time we are allowed to walk through all areas to view multiple angles of the crater, Benny's local buddy guided us), surprisingly fancy lunch at Sindang Reret Hotel & Restaurant Cikole Lembang, luwak cafe (owner does not speak English, Benny helpfully guided us), Ciater Hot Spring (you can get lovely massages), honey pineapple stand.

It was a long day for Benny & Mr Mamy (pick up near 7am, drop off at 9pm), they kept their professionalism in every minute. If you book this tour, see if you can ask for this lovely pair to relive my wonderful experience. Thank you, Mr Nurul, Dona, Benny and Mr Mamy!

Great experience with a knowledgeable guide.
What we appreciated was that we tried many type of food and coffee but no one pushed us to purchase anything.
The tour picked us up on time, we stopped on the way for breakfast and I was glad to see quite a lot of options for food (compare to other freeway truck stop). Same on the way back.
There's enough time at each stop to enjoy the sight seeing / activity. 1h at the volcano, 30 or 45min at the hot spring (you can get leg massage for 30,000 rupee or full body for 50,000). The hot spring was designed with small waterfall. Probably the only 40 degrees waterfall you'll ever see. The whole place is great.

A truly amazing day! Our guide Vincent was very knowledgable, spoke perfect English, entertaining and happy to answer questions about anything. The car was very comfortable, and the long distance driving felt quite short since we stopped regularly to see interesting sights - tea plantation, rice paddy, two different fruit stalls etc. Aside from the fascinating volcano and landscape views, I really enjoyed the coffee plantation visit (cat poop coffee) and hot spring foot massage (no swimming, just dip your legs in). Be prepared for a long day (12+ hours). Small group, 4 people on the tour I took, which was perfect. Also thanks to our professional driver (sorry I forget his name) - wear your seatbelt, he might be the fastest man in Jakarta. Lunch was delicious and in a beautiful restaurant. Vincent provided bottled water as needed and toilet breaks were available regularly. Many opportunities to buy souvenirs, fresh tropical fruits, coffee, snacks etc but no pressure from anyone to buy anything. Personally I bought lots of fruits to take back to the hotel that are not available back home and very cheap and delicious over here. Worth the money to see so many things in one day and in comfort.

Can’t say enough good things about this tour and our guide Rizky!

The tour description doesn’t begin to encompass all of the things we experience or see. The flow of the day was perfect and everything we did was unique. Rizky told us so much about the island that we wouldn’t have known had we not attended this tour with him.

Lunch was exceptional! The restaurant was a fun atmosphere and food was delicious.

I am a tour guide in Hawaii and take people to a volcano and hot springs as well so this was fun to experience on a different island and country :)

We loved being able to get a few mementos of our day and thoroughly enjoyed everything we did as well as the group we were with. There was only 6 of us which really was nice as it didn’t feel like herding cattle but an intimate semi-private tour.

My family and I had an excellent experience on this operated by Tour Ekaputra and guided by Jose! I had my parents in from the U.S. and I had only been living in Indonesia (Jakarta for about 2 weeks), this tour came highly recommended by a coworker. It was easy and enjoyable to communicate with Bona at the office, which made reserving the trip and preparing for it very easy. Jose and his driver picked us up at our house (4 adults and 2 young children) at 7:15am in a comfortable vehicle and proceeded to drive us hours away beyond the confines of the city and with nice stops along the way for food, drink, and stretching. We visited a rice paddy, tea plantation, active volcano, hot spring, and a marvelous restaurant for lunch among other things. Everything was both easy and a pure joy, Jose was an excellent guide all throughout, and seeing many monkeys near the volcano was an added bonus. It was a very full day trip and we returned home in the dark of night... the tour exceeded expectations and was worth every rupiah. I highly recommend this company and tour and I will book with them again in the future.

It was great to get out of Jakarta and experience the rural life of the people. Enjoyed a local market and learning about rice farming and harvesting, so labour intensive. Our guide Thomas was very knowledgeable about Indonesian life and its complex history which he explained to us in depth. To be honest the Botanical gardens were ok but not much in the way of flowers more a place for a good walk. We enjoyed our drive around Bogor and our included lunch. Our driver Andy was very calm and careful dealing with the constant traffic congestion.
