There’s no better time to see the Kintamani Volcano at Mount Batur than during sunrise, when orange light disperses the mist surrounding the mountain. If you’re an active traveler with a good level of fitness, opt for a sunrise hiking tour of the Kintamani Volcano that includes a visit to the summit crater and early morning hotel pickup, something almost impossible to arrange independently. Snacks and refreshments are included, as is a tour of a Balinese coffee plantation.
What to Expect

Your adventure begins with pickup from your Bali accommodation in the early hours of the morning, where you’ll board a vehicle destined for the start point of the Kintamani Volcano trek. Alongside your guide, you’ll begin a 2-hour hike to the volcano summit, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views at sunrise.

Following a breakfast of tea, bread, and eggs boiled in the water of the volcanic crater, you’ll explore Kintamani crater and snap photographs of sweeping vistas. Reconvene with your driver and continue to a Balinese coffee plantation, where you’ll learn about traditional manufacturing processes and sample one of the world’s most expensive coffees.

The tour concludes with drop-off at your Bali accommodation.

Well worth the trek!

This trip was amazing. Takes a couple of hours or so to get to the top but it's so worth it. Kota our driver was amazing, couldn't ask anymore from him. Highly recommended this trip. Go go go!

Outdoor adventure

If you like hiking then this is a must. Driver picked us up at 3am. Started the hike at 4am. The sunrise is not as I expected it but the whole experience was great. Take a light jacket with you. It’s chilly up there.

Amazing Tour with Naris!

My boyfriend and I trekked up to the summit of Mt. Batur with Naris. He was a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. His good sense of humour and chatty manner made the experience very enjoyable. The trek to the summit was approximately 1.5-2 hours...More

Let's be honest, if you are not used to hiking or hills...please stretch before starting. The easy part is going up and the hard part is coming down. Have a coat or pullover as you will sweat as you go up and come down. I...More
