Went there during the peak season for one week, visited Lhasa and Namtso lake. First 24h had problems to adapt, after that was OK. Tibet is fascinating and rich in culture, really worth visiting. Organisation was OK, the guide she was very nice, knowledgable and helpful.

Jul. 2019 • Family
Our family of four took a 6-day private tour in Tibet in July. It became such a memorable family trip, mostly because of the wonderful tour guide Jamyang Tsering (Tenzin) with Tibet Vista.

Tenzin is such an amazing young man. Because I suffered high altitude sickness during the whole trip, he had to make re-arrangement of our itinerary almost every day, so that I could see the most significant sites while my physical strength allowed, then be taken back to hotel to rest while the whole group carried on. He was so thoughtful and caring, our family members were all happy with his arrangement. On the last day of our trip, he skipped his meal to take me to see the Potala Palace at night. He knew how much I regret not be able to see the palace up close, and he made sure I finished the tour at the very spot – magnificent symbol of Tibet. Ten minutes before the observation deck closed, I took a picture of the palace at night, the most beautiful picture of the trip.

Tenzin is incredibly knowledgeable on Tibetan history, religion, and culture. He made this trip very educational and fascinating.

We were so lucky to have him as our tour guide.

Tibet Vista can only be highly recommended. Tibet is a very special place with a lot of regulations for tourist. Everything has to be perfect Job.

Our guide did a perfect job. We saw all the highlights with very good explanations about the historical and religious background. She took care about wishes picked out the best local restaurants. Changes in the program were also possible. Since not all poeple speak english and the different culture offers a lot of possibilities for complications in hotels, restaurants and laundry services I can only highly recomend Tibet Vista.

We had a wonderful trip with Tibet Vista. We did the six day tour including lake Namtso and it was the perfect way to see some of the highlights of Tibet.

On the first day, we got time to rest. We needed this to be able to get used to the high altitude. In the evening we did go out into the old city centre.
On the second day we went to visit the Potala Palace and the Jokhang temple. Our guide, Garung, could tell us everything about all the temples and traditions. Everything from pickup to lunch and entrances was arranged and taken care of.
After the activities we got the night off, so we were able to visit some more of the old part of Lhasa.

On the next day we went to lake Namtso. We had a wonderful time with our guide, Yamjang. He really took his time during the travel to the lake to show us the local spots and places he would visit. The Namtso lake is beautiful and we would really recommend everyone to go there.
Afterwards we went to buy real Tibetan yak yoghurt and we slept at the hotsprings. This was a very good experience.

Tibet vista has guides who are all from Tibet and will put in a lot of effort to show their culture and beautiful places to visit. We have been to all kinds of places we would have never seen otherwise.

Amazing sights, sounds and flavors! We were well supported by Tibet Vista prior to the trip - all arrangements, including getting the visa, worked flawlessly. During the trip our wonderful guide Tsedon took great care of us and gave us valuable insights into history and culture. Her cheerful presence helped our small group of 5 bond and feel comfortable.
This tour is not for the faint-hearted, though. Make sure you come prepared to deal with the height and are ok to stay at some really basic accommodations at Namtso Lake, where the bathroom is only open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and where the rest of the time you are left finding a spot in a field... (The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars)You also need to be prepared to spend a lot of time riding in a van due to the large distances between places.
We took the train from Shanghai to Lhasa (48 hours). We took some Acetazolamide (Diamox) two days before arrival to help with altitude sickness. We felt pretty good, although we felt short of breath and had occasional headaches which were easily alleviated by hyper-ventilating to make sure we got enough oxygen.
We spent one additional day before the tour in Lhasa and recommend doing that if you have time. We went to Jokhang Monastery on our own in the morning when all local pilgrims visit and it was an amazing experience of local devotion. It also gave us some additional time to explore Lhasa and get used to the altitude.
