About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- jeoe20210 contributionsGreat experienceDorjee - my tour guide was always on time and helped with everything. He also had water & oxygen for me. I had 9 days private tour with cultural sightseeing and beautiful Namtso Lake . Hotels were great - very comfortable . We visited some monasteries and I learned a lot about Buddhism - Dorjee is very knowledgeable. He could answer all my questions.Written 24 January 2025
- patriciabB418AB0 contributionsIncredible Adventure in Tibet with SonumWe had an absolutely incredible time with Sonum as our guide. A native Tibetan from Eastern Tibet, he was incredibly friendly and genuine and always in good humor. We felt well taken care of during our time - he even gave my boyfriend a birthday card! We really appreciated our time is Lhasa and Tibet! We would definitely recommend Vista with Sonum as your guide! We especially appreciated the insight into Tibetan culture - Lunch with a family, local restaurants, and observing the monks debate. :)Written 20 January 2025
- garethjones20100 contributionsAbove and beyondDespite the last minute changes that had to occur due to the earthquake, Tibet Vista took very good care of us and were communicative throughout the entire time there. Our guide, Sonam, was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. He went above and beyond to make sure we were all looked after. I would highly recommend Tibet Vista as a company to travel Tibet with.Written 20 January 2025
- Journey124341686680 contributionsVery Happy with Tibet Vista serviceI booked this tour with Tibet Vista since July 2024 but had to cancel last minute due to the unfortunate earthquake that occured to Tibet last week. Although I could not make it this time, I’m very pleased with the prompt and helpful advice by sales consultant Zoe Leung. Zoe also helped me to get my Chinese visa smoothly. I hope to be able to visit Tibet again and highly recommend Tibet Vista’s service.Written 12 January 2025
- T M K0 contributionsUnforgettable Tibet ExperienceOur 8-day monastery and Everest Base Camp tour exceeded all expectations. Our guide Tserina was a true gem - her deep knowledge of Tibetan monasteries and culture brought each location to life with fascinating insights and stories. Her endless energy and enthusiasm made even the longest days enjoyable.Special mention to our fantastic driver who went above and beyond, even treating us to some incredible drone footage of our journey. The itinerary was perfectly balanced between monastery visits and the breathtaking journey to EBC. Getting to experience both Tibet's rich spiritual heritage and natural wonders was truly special. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to experience the magic of Tibet with knowledgeable local experts.Written 8 January 2025

- 990ChristineR0 contributionsTibet Vista - Excellent guide and well organised companyWe are a family of 4 with 2 children aged 12 and 14. We chose a custom tour so we could move at a pace that suited us. We found Tibet Vista (TibetTravel.org) to be an excellent company to work with, 90% of this good impression was generated by our guide Sonam who was brilliant. He was thoughtful, funny, always laughing, knowledgable and had a true sense of "joie de vivre". His knowledge of Tibetan and Buddhist history is huge but he managed to explain things in a way that the dots could be joined together. He was obviously well respected by his peers and friends at the locations we visited. He also took great photos and videos for us! The transport was good, not a limo but suitable for what we paid. When planning the trip, the company was efficient to deal with and on our arrival went out of their way with welcome gifts at Lhasa. Overall we strongly recommend this company.Written 4 January 2025
- jedrekh20160 contributionsBeautiful TibetAmazing trip well organised and paced. I would advise everyone to ask for the guide Lhakpa. Your guide will be your door to Tibet as he will be the one explaining each of the special places that you will visit. We can't recommend Lhakpa enough. So professional and knowledgeable but always can crack a joke to lift the spirits. Punctual and organised but provided flexibility for our group to change the itinerary to fit our needs. Thanks team!Written 3 January 2025
- n0ppaw0ngp0 contributionsA pleasant journey in TibetI have expected to come to Tibet for long time. It is ongoing untill the appropriate time comes. I prefer to travel in winter season based on my preference. I went to many places located in Tibet as planned. Unfortunately, I cannot go to see Namtso lake due to weather condition. However, I and Tibet Vista arranged alternative plan, in order to go smoothly. Mr. Tashi, a local guide accompanied me throughout the trip. He gave me an insight of the places we went to, planned everything I need as requested. Moreover, he was quite enthusiastic to encourage me to know about Tibetan culture. I took a lot of beautiful photos. He also helped me get many good photos with great views. Therefore, I was very satisfied with the time spending on sightseeing in Tibet. If I have a free time, I will definitely come back again to see other tourist attractions in Tibet.Written 3 January 2025
- OngJ740 contributionsA perfect tripWe heard good reviews about Tibet vista and decided to take on their overland tour from Lhasa to Kathmandu. We did a private tour instead of a group tour as we had an elderly on the trip. Emma (邓邓) from Tibet vista patiently answered all our queries before we confirmed on the trip. She was very responsive and settled our visa application timely. We were also given timely updates on our visa application status. Our guide's contact was given to us in advance too. The approved visa was sent to our hotel in China, overall a fuss free experience. Dorjee, our guide, is patient, knowledgeable and speaks very good English and Mandarin. He has been a wonderful history teacher. The trips to the monestaries were engaging and we have learnt much about Buddhism, Tibet's history and culture. Dorjee is also punctual, professional and took great care of the elderly. He would check with us everyday, first thing in the morning, if we have slept well and whether we have any AMS symptoms. He would then briefed us on the day's activity and timeless. He also thoughtfully prepared a traditional Tibetan wrap skirt to keep us warm at EBC. He is always ahead of the queues - the trip was well planned, well executed and visits/ check point clearance were efficient. We were super lucky to be blessed with good weather and a 10/10 sunset view of the Mt Everest on new years day eve! We were initially quite hesitant about visiting Tibet in Dec coz it can get really cold, but after this experience, we would definitely recommend visiting during the off peak season for the following reasons: - hotels and tours are way cheaper during lull period - Dec is dry season, and we were blessed with clear sky EVERYDAY. - the weather is very pleasant in the day ( e.g. 2 layers + 1 north face jacket is usually enough because the weather is dry and sun is strong). We were usually back in hotel before sunset, so didn't have to experience the extreme cold at night. Overall it was a pleasant experience with Tibet vista and we would definitely be back again! Bonus: Dorjee also knows all the good toilets along the way 😁Written 2 January 2025

- Fearless452071025510 contributionsBest guideI want to share a review about a great guide and a wonderful person - Mr. Sonam tenphel In September 2024, he was a Tibetan guide in the Russian group of the company "All Ways" on a trip through Tibet from Lhasa to Mount Kalash and back. Sonam's excellent knowledge of the history of Lhasa and its sights, the ability to tell it correctly, clearly and interestingly, strongly distinguishes him! His concern for each member of our group was especially noticeable on the bark around the great Kailash Mountain! But there is another distinctive feature - his smile, which is unmistakable! Sonam is an excellent Guide, and I recommend him with confidence and pleasure to all Tibetan explorers!Written 1 January 2025

I did the Lhasa city tour with Tibet Vista and loved the experience. The time was short but it was jam packed with attractions. Our guide, Jinmei, was very knowledgeable on Tibetan culture, history, and religion. He gave interesting and educational commentary at every attraction we went to. There wasn't any forced shopping, and the restaurants we went to had very authentic Tibetan food. The driver was professional and the rides were comfortable. Tibet Vista is a very reputable and professional company and they made my trip as seamless as they could.

I had an excellent experience with Tibet Vista (did the 4D/3N tour), starting with my initial contact with Liam/Jiang. The Chinese Embassy in Kenya has exceptionally stringent requirements that are not common with other embassies, necessitating multiple revisions of the Letter of Invitation. Throughout this process, Liam remained patient and accommodating, repeatedly revising the letter to meet the new requirements (for which I am truly grateful). When I faced an issue with my initial train booking from Xining to Lhasa, Liam promptly assisted in securing a new booking. The level of customer service was truly exceptional.
The tour itself was well-organised, featuring a knowledgeable guide and nice accommodation at Gang-Gyan, a 3* hotel. I really liked its Tibetan decor from the reception and the location was in the most intriguing part of Lhasa - like an old town of sorts with all the Tibetan colours and decor on buildings. It was also within walking distance of significant temples and shopping areas.
Overall, I was very pleased with Tibet Vista and highly recommend booking with them!
PS: You can make your own train bookings from Xining to Lhasa on trip.com

I booked a tour with Tibet Vista online, their staff was incredibly easily and quick to work with. They helped me pick good dates and made the permit process a breeze. They picked me up at the train station after I arrived in Lhasa and made my general travel very easy. The next day I met our Tour Guide Tsernia who was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She made touring Lhasa a great experience with a lot of new information learned. I highly recommend booking a tour with Tibet Vista, everything went as planned and was pleasure. I’ll be coming back again.

Before you arrive they are very nice and tell you that every adjustment needed is feasible. But once you book your Tibet Permit with them, they will keep you hostage, their hotels are worse (smokers rooms for non-smokers!) they market it as 4 days, but these are 2 days that can be done in 1 day. When you ask to see a site on the way which extend the way in 1 hour they request ridiculous price of 300USD. And you cannot go to any competitor because of the permit. My recommendation - STAY AWAY!

Dear Sir,
We‘re truly sorry to hear about your negative experience with our services.
We feel regretful that the hotel did not meet your expectations, and we apologize for the oversight. We should have discussed the room type with you in advance to ensure it was suitable for your needs. We sincerely hope that the non-smoke room we arranged for you in the next days can bring a little happiness to your travel and helps ease some of our guilt.
Regarding the detour to Yamdrok-tso, which is 120km from Lhasa and requires approximately 2.5 hours of travel. To visit here, we have to add the site on the Tibet Travel Permit. However, at the time it was unfortunately too late in the day for us to make the arrangements. We feel very sorry about this thing.
Once again, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced, and we greatly appreciate your bringing this to our attention. We will keep trying our best to improve our service and selecting more friendly and welcoming hotels for our clients' stay. We're very very sorry for your negative expereince once again and hope we have another opportunity to serve you better in the future.
Best Regards,
Tibet Vista

My trip to Tibet with Tibet Vista was extremely disappointing. The vehicles were overcrowded, making the journey very uncomfortable. With so many people, I couldn't hear the guide clearly in crowded places, which ruined the experience. I wouldn't recommend Tibet Vista to anyone.

Had a wonderful trip to Lhasa with Tibet Vista. I was nervous dealing direct with a Chinese company but they kept us well informed throughout the booking process, assisted us with the Chinese visa application. The tour and pre tour to Xi'an were very good. The guides spoke good English, reliable with their timekeeping and were very knowledgeable. I would recommend them to others, in fact I already have.

My husband and I just returned from our 8 day trip to Xi An and Lhasa. We truly enjoyed our tour and really glad we went with Tibet Vista.
Our travel advisor Gemma was super helpful and friendly throughout our trip and provided timely assistance in arranging train/hotel pick-up drop-offs while we were on the road. Everything went like clockwork and we didn't have to worry about anything.
Thank you Gemma for all your hard work and effort. We had a great time in Lhasa!

The tour was amazing. We added an additional rest day after arrival to cope with altitude and very glad we did. 2 of us struggled even with diamox. Tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Considered our needs with 2 kids. Extra oxygen, toilet breaks rtc.
Timing of our tours was great too. Plenty of time but flexible if we were ready to go on.
Booking was easy as. Communication with company was fast and accurate.

Many in our group were booked by Vista Tibet into the Yak Hotel, which sucks so bad that some demanding a change of hotels. Do not let them book your hotel, do it yourself, the Yak Hotel does not have proper toilets but a hole in the floor, it's very loud, construction next door early in the morning, and the courtyard is used for group prayer before the sun comes up. The staff at the Yak Hotel will not give you a bottle of water nor a city map; don't support them. Everything else about what Vista Tibet did was wonderful, the permit and delivery, the guide, the lunches, the pace, the Monasterys all were good.
