          Must visit while in Nanjing!
Niushoushan Cultural Park is breathtaking & must visit while in Nanjing. While inside, it gave you a sense of serenity & calming despite of having a crowd there. We had a nice day tour with Francis, our guide. He spoke english very well, is friendly and patient with the group (restroom breaks & picture time). He took us to lunch & ordered local cuisine. It was plenty of food and good.

          Must visit while in Nanjing!
We had a nice day tour with John, our guide. He gave a lot of historical insights into each place we visited. He is very knowledgeable and patient with the group (restroom breaks & picture time). We learned a lot from our visit to the Xiaoling Tomb of Ming Dynasty, Nanjing Ming City Wall, Sun Yat Sen Mausoleum & Presidential Palace of Nanjing. He took us to lunch & ordered local cuisine. It was plenty of food and very good. Alana who is the admin desk for the two tours we did was very responsive & professional. She took a quick step to correct an issue for the next day's tour and remained in contact afterwards.

          Nanjing History Lesson
My father, me, and my nephew had great time taking this one day city tour with Fred as our tour guide. He shared us a very complete and comprehensive history of China. From imperial era until current modern day. Too bad Nanjing masacre hall is closed for renovation.

Great service and amazing tour guide
The tour coordinator Alana reached out before the day to arrange for all necessities, introducing the tour guide Mr.John, understanding requirements, reminding me to bring along the passport. On the tour day, John was ready at the hotel lobby by the appointment time. After a short discussion about the itinerary, we were on the road. During the whole day, John walked me the history of the city from the ancient time to the Republic era with a vast knowledge. At the mountain, he was very attentive during the hiking up and down so I can easily navigate in my own space. A Nanjing native himself, John knows the city and shares with me interesting tips about things to do and places to eat with a local's perspective. Before ending the day, sweet of him writing down my interested places in both English and Chinese characters in case I need help on the road later on. Strongly recommended for first time foreigners visiting Nanjing. It's a great way to familiarize yourself with the city.

I learned so much from Fred about the rich history, interesting tales and facts of China as we went through all the main sights in a day. Efficient and informative.

Niushoushan, the marvellous Zen Temple representing the ancient and the future!
I had been looking forward to this visit for a long while: finally, with the help of the capable Alana of Amazing Jiangnan Trip, it became reality! The place enshrines a very important Buddhist relic, representing the continuity from the past into the future of Zen Buddhism through one of the most outstanding and mesmerising architectural masterpieces constructed in recent years. Indeed, the temple, consisting of six floors, most of which are underground, has been built recently (2013-2015), but in a few centuries it will fully represent the newly-found wealth and power of XXI century modern China. The government invested a huge amount of money to preserve the important relic, in accordance to the law, where each of the official religions freely practiced in the vast nation is protected. It was a wise decision, as the Niushou site is now visited especially by youngsters showing a new interest in Buddhism and ancient traditions. Visually, the temple is simply stunning. Each decorative element, put together in an effort to evoke the divine, has a deep meaning for the devotee: here comes my gratitude towards my guide for the day, the kind and knowledgeable John. He patiently explained all symbolism, the fascinating religious traditions and Buddhist legends during the extensive visit. We had a wonderful, rich vegetarian lunch at the beautiful temple canteen, then proceeded to climb up one of the tall pagodas in proximity, enjoying the entire panorama of Nanjing. During my week-long visit to Nanjing I used the services of three different excellent guides from the very same agency, and it was the best choice ever! I fully recommend this private tour in particular, it's different from anything you will ever see...

          Professional Historical Nanjing Tour
I had this tour recently and learned alot from Fred (王玮). He is a very professional, helpful and knowlegeable bilinggual guide. We went to Zhonghua Gate and museum, Sun Yat Sen mausoleum, Xiaoling Tomb of the first Ming Dynasty Emperor. From here I also learnt where and how some Chinese idioms come from. During the journey, he also shared other historical information and recommended me other places that I might be interested too. A very proactive guide indeed.

The astounding Niushoushan Buddhist palace and temple complex
Everything about the trip was wonderful. The driver and car were great and Lia was so knowledgeable about the history of Nanjing and about Buddhism and she was also so warm and friendly. The palace was just incredible, on a scale and with an opulence that’s pretty astounding, but I almost preferred the Ch’an garden and quiet temple that Lia took me to afterwards. Definitely recommend.

          A fulfilling and efficient experience
We had a great time! I was visiting my girlfriend who was in China for the summer and we wanted to learn about the history of Nanjing. Our driver and our tour guide Fred were both great. Fred was very knowledgeable about the whole area and gave us a great understanding of the overall history of the area and a lot of niche facts. We specifically liked how efficient the travel was, as soon as we were done with one site, the drive picked us up at the exit and we were on to the next (while not feeling rushed). Fred did a great job of fitting in all 5 places we wanted to go (ming tomb, sun yatsen, nanjing memorial, jiming temple, chaotian palace) and get us back to our train on time. Over great experience!

          Awesome guide
Knowledgeable guide. Excellent English. The schedule is very flexible. In addition to a selection of the listed sites, we saw the Memorial Hall of the Nanjing Massacre, which is worth seeing. However, it's extremely disturbing, as you might imagine, so be prepared. We skipped the Xiaoling Tomb in order to have time for the Memorial Hall, but if we had it back we would have skipped the Confucian Temple Area, which is essentially modern.

A must see for understanding the history of Nanjing and China.
My guide was Fred, who spoke great English and was very knowledgeable about not only the places we visited, but Fred has worldly knowledge as well. The history was fascinating and Fred could answer any questions on it. I fully recommend the tour and maybe you might be lucky as I was to get my great guide Fred.

I chose this tour because I wanted to get as much historical and cultural background as possible on a city I’ve never visited before. The itinerary our guide (Wang Wei/Fred) fashioned not only met my lofty expectations, it (and he) exceeded them by far. Uncannily knowledgeable about Chinese history and culture in general and his impressive home city’s in particular, after consulting with us as to our interests (and continuing to do so throughout the day), he treated us to a day full of education, variety and interest.

We started with a brief visit to Xuanwu Lake, a pleasant oasis reminiscent of the far-better known but much more touristy West Lake in Hangzhou, and a perfect start to the day. Next stop was nearby Jiming Temple, where Wang Wei’s commentary (and incense-burning instructions!) perfectly complemented the Buddhist practices the locals were actually performing there, just as in olden times. Next was one of the day’s highlights, the Tomb and grounds of the first Ming Emperor, where the lush but well-groomed landscape perfectly complemented the imposing imperial buildings and ruins and provided the perfect setting for Wang Wei’s dramatic lesson in the romance and tragedy of the Early Ming dynasty, and where we were able to really stretch our legs. Next was a delicious quick but authentic lunch at an unpretentious restaurant full of locals. Yum! After lunch, a visit to the imposing Ming city walls, once comprising 35 km of towering earth and stone ramparts, huge parts of which are still largely intact, including the largest gate and barbican. Then a visit to an architecturally impressive new, mostly underground, museum on the 1300-year-long imperial examination system in the same Confucius Temple neighborhood where the examinations were actually held, and which, on the day of our visit, was filled with kids cosplaying as imperial scholars, lending a goofily surreal but pleasant ambience. Last but not least, a visit to the site of the shipyards where the 7 magnificent Ming Treasure Fleets were built and sailed from by eunuch Muslim Admiral Zheng He, whose statue stands at the far end, not far from a charmingly dilapidated replica of one of his massive flagships. We had the park nearly to ourselves and the atmosphere was incredibly romantic. The perfect end to the perfect day of sightseeing in the hidden gem that is Nanjing!

I highly recommend this city, this tour and this guide!

Fred our guide meet us at our downtown hotel and was friendly with excellent English language skills. We had a good steady pace for the day seeing all the listed items on the itinerary. Fred’s knowledge of each site its history and purpose was excellent and no question was to difficult. Lunch was great with more than we could eat in a quaint Chinese restaurant with local foods.
We do quite a few tours and found the company kept us informed of time guides as we approached the date of our tour. Fred our guide was excellent his driver was efficient and safe.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this tour.
