Macao day trip
Excellent private guided tour of Macao and environs. Learned a lot about Macao’s fascinating history, visited historic and modern landmarks, and sampled some of Macao’s distinctive cuisine. Guide and driver were excellent,

Sharing important family and cultural heritage of Hong Kong in Seaside Stories
We had a lovely afternoon today with Celeste and organised behind the scenes by Cherrie. Everything was exactly as described, very well organised and with our host sharing many stories of her family's long history in the area.

Highly recommended tour operator
Ling is a very knowledgeable, motivated and friendly guide. She has a strong academic background, and she will be able to answer more or less any question you may have on HK. Highly recommended!

Great tours
We went to 2 trips: 1. The Seaside stories introduces Shau Kei Wan, including a junk ride (special joy for kids), and ends up in a beautiful park with two children playgrounds and funny kids activities. 2. The Origin of the Fragrant Harbour took us to a very pleasant trail on the Peak, a bit far from the tourist masses, and we also went to Pock Fu Lam village - I was always interested in how do these places called "village" in Hongkong look like. The trips were very informative, the guides love what they are doing, they can tell tales even about the last little corners of remote places. Beautiful view of Hongkong from different angles with refreshments, tasty dim-sum, extrem-friendly tour guides, a lot of old photos to compare the past with the present - I can only recommend these trips.

Excellent Value for an Exceedingly Good Tour Guide
About two years ago I took my father to Hong Kong because he had always wanted to go there. I love to travel but Asia was never high on my destination list. One of my biggest concerns was the language and culture barrier so I knew I needed a good tour guide to really experience the true Hong Kong. I took a chance on Ho Ho Go, a little concerned that I had to email first to even get an idea of the cost but I need not have worried. Ho Ho Go's owner and her husband (who drove) were the most thoughtful, professional and thorough guides I have ever had. She thought of everything we might need to be safe and comfortable on a full day of touring. They picked us up at our hotel, had thoughtful supplies (water bottles, kleenex, snacks, disinfectant wipes, etc.) and even had headsets to use to ensure we could always hear her well. They know their Cantonese history and got us into places we never would have been able to see (or even know about) on our own. They are true locals so you can experience the city and the surrounding areas fully while making their foreign guests feel at ease. I would absolutely use Ho Ho Go again the next time I go back to Hong Kong. They were so good that I am now excited to visit other Asian destinations and can't wait to bring my sons to Hong Kong. We will be using Ho Ho Go again, for sure. I don't think it's offered anymore but we took the Fairy Tale Lane all day tour. We caught them at a transition time in their certification for more clearance, if I remember correctly, so Bonnie gave us a great deal. Because not having a price list made me nervous to email them when I was looking for a guide, I'll advise here what I was charged and hope it doesn't hurt their profit - just please be warned that this tour was at least 4 years ago (TripAdvisor is not letting me select the correct date so I used as far back as they allow) and at a discount due to a specific situation at the time. We paid HK $2600 (HK $1300 per guest) with a HK $400 discount and no surcharge (Hong Kong dollars, not USD). Whatever their rates are right now, I can confidently tell you they are worth it and very reasonable. I feel bad it took me so long to finally post a review, but they were so good I was determined to take the time to give them their proper due with an excellent review. They are small tour company but that makes for an intimate and thorough experience. They are exceedingly professional, they are highly responsive to emails and their receipts have all their official credentials and license info listed. They even follow-up to make sure you were happy with their service. I can't say enough about Ho Ho Go other than I was a little nervous to even go to Hong Kong & rural China but they were so great they changed that. I would book with them again in a heartbeat - and will. Hope this helps!

Great tour with a lovely young man Javis. Plenty of knowledge and many great stories. It gave us a different insight into Hong Kong life. Finished tour with a freshly baked egg tart, most enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour.

Discovering Hong Kong under a new angle.
My family joined the Shau Kei Wan tour organized by Ho Ho Go. We spent a delightful afternoon discovering hidden gems in this less travelled district of Hong Kong. Many highlights that I should probably not disclose but the private visit of a shipyard was really stunning and something you cannot do by your own. My kids loved it and learnt a lot during the whole tour. What makes the tour so interesting is the fact that it is guided by Celeste who grew up there and whose family own the shipyard.she has plenty of stories to tell and was a wonderful host. I would really recommend this tour not only to tourists who want to do something special on the less beaten tracks and learn about Chinese culture, but also to people living in Hong Kong like us who want to go deeper into the local life of some hidden corners we may often skip.

We joined from Japan "our childhood tour". It was very very exciting. The tour took us the area where a guide book didn't show. We visited an old market, hostrical village, and the old/new pubric estates. Also, the tour guide was very nice and kind. We had an excellent experience with this tour.

Interesting journey
Ling was our guide in the Hong Kong Erotic History Tram Tour on a January evening. It was a pleasure listening to her telling stories over a hundred years ago while stepping on historical paths and trailing through old buildings lost in the business centre of Hong Kong. Ling obviously has done a lot of research and managed to address our curious questions about lives of merchants and women in those old days. We boarded a tram that took us from Sheung Wan to Wanchai before we ended the journey through history in the most vibrant part of Hong Kong. I recommend this tour to those who are interested in an alternative experience of travelling. What it says is true. You wouldn't find those stories in travel guide books or regular guided tours.

For whoever into culture, history and stories.
On a tailored private tour. We come from Macao and lived in Hong Kong when younger. Therefore we requested skipping some places we think we knew well. Yet it turn out I don't know a tenth of what they can show us. Our guide Ms. Ho is friendly and very knowledgeable on everything during the tour, even if we sometimes sees something interesting in a distance and walked away from planned spot. The shops & restaurants came across surpass our expectation too.

Very informative and interesting
The 1 hour tour to Whampoa Street in Hung Hom was very well conducted. Ling, our guide, was born and had grown up there, so her tips and stories were authentic. We visited an old comic book store, a cinema, a condiment shop and a residential block. We were also told about the stories of the shrine near the street and the burger eatery where her mom used to wait for her dad coming back by ferry that docked where luxury apartments now stand. The last stop was Whampoa Garden where the dockyard was located. The street and its neighbourhood are more than 100 years old and is going to be demolished soon. Ling had also collected many interesting and historical photos of the neighbourhood. Highly recommended to everyone interested in history and culture.

Interesting stories
We had Ling as our tour guide. The visit to the housing estates would've been very different without the stories that she told us. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Highly recommended!

Walking around Hong Kong ,Kowloon and Macau
I had a wonderful guided walking trip around many of the older historical sights in both Hong Kong and Kowloon. I had asked to go to some places that might not normally be on the main tourist route. I had a wonderful experience. My guide, Ling Ho, was incredibly knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and took me to lots of unusual corners of both Hong Kong and Kowloon. I like taking photographs of unusual city spots and this I was able to do. I am somewhat reserved about taking direct pictures of people going about their work but this would also have been OK as Ling was on good terms with many of the owners of the little shops. I was fortunate enough to also have Ling Ho organise a trip for 2 friends and I to go to Macau. Again we had a great trip, saw many of the key sites and enjoyed walking around the Portuguese influenced streets and houses. We also visited the Mandarin's house and marvelled at the changed environment now viewed from that site which had once stood on the edge of the harbour. We were not interested in visiting the casinos but there clearly was a little Las Vegas for those who wished to wander around and into the casinos. Ling also chose great places to eat over the two days we were walking about.

Tour around HK Central and West Area
The tour was very fruitful with detailed explanation on each historical building and its origin. The tour guides were very friendly and helpful. I really like the part where we can talk to the shop owners and understand the story even more.

Fairy Tale Tour- Off the beaten path
I think I was on the tour with Geo_K442, who also reviewed it. I had a great time seeing some of the more far-flung places with Ling (and two others who helped out!) As Geo said, our tour was really small and personal, going places I never would have found on my own (which was why I had chosen it). I learned a lot about the history and cultures of the area, saw different kinds of architecture and ate (too much!) really good food. I agree that 8:00 was a little early to start, but I'm really glad I went. Be aware though that things might change (e.g. when we arrived at Kadoorie Farm, there was a thunderstorm warning that had just been announced, so we couldn't walk quite as far as otherwise, but there was so much to do that I can't imagine how we would have fit in a longer walk!) I hope that they are successful and continue to give these tours.
