Amazing trip and beautifully organised. Outdoor Africa were very efficient, very friendly and our guide James Mwangi was excellent. We felt very safe in his hands.

I can't recommend Africa Outdoors highly enough. From first contact, Willy was helpful, clear and responsive so we felt confident about what we were taking on. The team he put together for our climb was brilliant. James Mwangi, with his decades experience as a guide and in mountain rescue, made me relax, trust the pace he set and his judgement about how to summit. With his expertise, we summited early, missing the clouds, and we didn't suffer from the altitude. The amazing meals by Kim our cook were tailored to hiking at altitude and gave us the energy we needed. The cheerful porters (Anna, James, Paul, Nelson and Geoffrey) removed all the usual hard work of camping, while small touches, like hot water, soap and flannels brought to us and our 'dining' tent, complete with table and chairs, made us feel so well-cared for. Above all, I'll remember the endless, contagious laughter of the Africa Outdoors team as we lay exhausted in our tent after a hard day. Thank you so much everyone. What a fantastic start to 2024! I recommend this hike 100%. It was the perfect combination of beautiful scenery and a challenging summit. Willy from African Outdoors was always available on what’s app to answer any of my questions and my guide James was spectacular providing lots of laughs and motivation when needed. His level of fitness was almost unnatural. A true super hero.!! The food provided was filling and tasted great and the rest of the the porters and chef did a great job.

Willy and his team were just superb with us! My friend and I had an amazing time on Mt. Kenya. Our guide James was kind and encouraging especially to me whose first time it was to climb such a high mountain. The food was delicious and more enough, the porters were great! Let me start off by saying that Willy is fantastic with communication! He anticipated needs and was very responsive to requests. My group was made up of (ahem) older adults and one teenager. Our guides James and Joseph were fabulous. My group could not praise them enough. They kept us motivated and took real care with our health all the way up to Point Lenana and back down to Old Moses camp. I highly recommend Africa Outdoors for value and customer service.

We had a incredible experience hiking Mt Kenya with Africa Outdoors from the Chogoria Gate, down the Sirimon Route. Would definitely recommend!! Willy was so accommodating and helpful in preparation, and James is a trustworthy guide who set a steady pace and helped our team stay healthy and safe and enjoy summiting the mountain. Willy and his guide James did an incredible job getting our crew of 5 up and down the mountain. One of our group had his flights delayed and the airline lost his bag that had all his hiking gear in it. Willy went out of his way to go and get our friends bag at the Nairobi airport and drive it all the way up to Chogoria gate and drop it off just in time for him to start his trek. James is an expert guide with more than 30 years experience and is also one of the leaders of the Mt Kenya high altitude rescue team. We were in good hands. The porters were great setting up camp. The cook cooked so much food every meal and it was really good. If you’re planning on summitting Mt Kenya Will and his team should be your guides.

The service was exceptional right from pick up in Nairobi, through to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro and back home. I have done several hikes with Africa outdoors including the Mount Kenya climb and I have loved the experience. As a photographer, I have always had a guide as the fast one trudge along while I take pictures of the travel (More can be noted on my youtube channel @MachoniontheGO) I will recommend Africa outdoors anytime as they have been outstanding in the outdoors where I have gone with them. We organized this trip with Willy, rented some equipment (sleeping bag) with him and can only recommend it. Well organized, the trip definitely is better for those with hiking experience, but worth it. The Trek was led by a very capable guide and it was a unique experience.
