About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- SuelalaY0 contributionsAdventure of a lifetime - - (ASK FOR AHMED)My husband and I wrote this review together. For the orderly minds, he's itemized his review below :-) . Regardless, we both agree this trip, without a doubt, this trip was above and beyond expectations. An excursion of a lifetime. We are so happy we got lucky enough to get Ahmed as our tour guide and that we had this opportunity in our lives to experience this part of Egypt. What I will say is, I did call and reach out to more expensive and well-known tour companies a month in advance of our trip. They either did not respond or those who did response were rude and condescending. Those original encounters with the "luxury" groups were off-putting. I booked this trip nearly last minute before we left to fly to Cairo... and I feel we received such a gift. From my first contact who was the liaison Bassant (more on her later), to our guide (Ahmed, who is so full of knowledge, personable, and great at truly teaching you about the sites) - to the accommodations (which, I was truly terrified about). Let me take a moment to speak about Bassant directly. I will own that I, myself, am a bit of a hot mess. She was EXTREMELY PATIENT. EXTREMELY FORGIVING. She gave the impression that she truly cared about our experience. And I was so worried about a lot of things and a little disorganized. She first contacted me via whatsapp to ask for our passports - and I was worried, and she reassured so kindly and quietly. On the day we were to fly out to Aswan, I had missed the itinerary for our flight in the messages -- thinking she hadn't sent it -- and panicked in the airport, calling her at 3 in the morning. She, again, kindly and patiently responded -- resending everything (without making me feel stupid -- i'm the one who eventually saw i'd already had everything). One of the most pleasant surprises was finding out how much time we actually got to sail on the Nile. Again, one luxury tour company I spoke to said their boat would be docked for two days before sailing-- but we sailed after the first night and for most of the trip... and it was incredible. Again, just magical. But. My husband will give you the nitty gritty. :-) Things to know. Pros - 1. Our tour guide Ahmed was the best tour guide we’ve ever had in all our years of travel. He knew everything, knew everyone, and knew how to navigate and game the systems. And we felt safe with him the whole time. 2.We had a small group (2 of 6) so getting to where we needed to was easy. 3. The room on the boat was much bigger and nicer than we expected, plenty of room for two people. 4. And the sites are just spectacular and jaw dropping. Cons - 1. Not being an all inclusive package was annoying. 2.Not having a written out itinerary with rough time tables was a little annoying, and would have been helpful. 3. Though we were told exact ticket prices for site admissions, it was not clear to us that we had to have it paid in advance. 4. Meals are buffet style, and if you’ve been to a resort before, you know not to expect fine dining. Honestly, the food was the weakest part of the tour. 5. Both of our groups had small issues with our rooms (e.g. clogged bathtub) and relayed them to the staff, but they did not fix them. (sidenote, if you’re over 6 feet, you may have issues standing up in the tub, though I can only speak for our boat; other boats may vary. Some things to keep in mind: There were some places we wished we had more time to visit, but due to time constraints we didn’t spend more than 60-90 minutes at each place. We also had to wake up EARLY every day. BUT that’s the trade-off for being able to visit so many places. So before you book, ask yourself… Is it more important to see as many things as you can, or to experience several things as fully as possible? If it’s the latter, this tour may not be for you. The extra trips that were offered were a trip to a Nubian village and a hot air balloon ride. We loved the Nubian village trip, as we got to go on a little boat (think African Queen), dip our feet in the Nile, and even held a crocodile! That was worth the extra $40 per person. The other group did the hot air balloon and snorkeling. They said the hot air balloon was worth it, though we don’t know how snorkeling was as we separated before they went. That being said we have been snorkeling and went in a hot air balloon elsewhere before, and it is really enjoyable. If you’ve never done them before, and have the money, it’s probably gonna be worth it to splurge. The stops at the aromatherapy shop and stone carvers shop are part of the reason why the tours have the prices that they do…those businesses pay the tour companies to bring tourists to them. They will pressure you to buy their products, but you are under no obligation to do so. It’s basically like watching a timeshare presentation to get a promotion…it’s the cost of the discount. Helpful tips: Definitely recommend bringing a pillow and headphones on the way to Abu Simbel. It is a 3 hour drive to and from. Most of the temple tickets can be purchased online, to avoid having to wait in line at the entrance. I would recommend bringing about $200 USD (around 10,000 in Egyptian Pounds) in cash for tips and unexpected purchases. Bottom Line: The pros far outweigh the cons, and absolutely recommend this tour if you want the highlights from Abu Simbel to Luxor. And the fact that you’ll be on a boat traveling down the Nile is an unforgettable experience. The total cost was around $1,100 USD/person, and we still think the tour was worth every penny. If you do book, ask for Ahmed.Written 12 February 2025
- adr_b20180 contributionsAmazing adventure seeing all that Luxor and Aswan has to offerWhat an amazing experience. Bassant who made the arrangements were really helpful and kept in contact beforehand, confirming details of pickup making sure we were handed to our guide Hamdy. We can not praise our guide Hamdy enough, he really brought the history to life. His knowledge of Egyptology is second to none. The ship itself was pleasant and we loved sitting on the deck admiring the views across the Nile. Staff was friendly and always on hand when needed. Food and drinks options were good. Cocktails were on the pricey side but beers (200le) and water were reasonable. We would definitely recommend booking this trip.Written 6 February 2025

- NWilk20140 contributionsVery nice facilities on the Nile river cruise boatsThis was my favorite part of our 2 week Egypt trip. The guides, drivers, staff on the river cruise boat were all amazing! The facilities on the river boat exceeded my expectations. We were on the Lady Carol and very comfortable in a triple cabin as a family of 3. Food was great, housecleaning services were exceptional, and we even got our laundry done. We had to pay for entrance tickets, drinks on the boat, and tips but all of this was perfectly communicated ahead of time. No unpleasant surprises or unexpected costs. Two suggestions that might be helpful: 1) We did the 3 night/4 day cruise which was incredible but exhausting! Be prepared for lots of very early mornings (3:30-5:30 am start) and not much sleep. If that doesn’t sound appealing, then choose the 4 night/5day cruise and 2), avoid the horse and carriage ride. We saw horses limping and with open sores pulling tourists in carts and many others clearly in distress from the crazy Luxor traffic (being honked at by huge tourist buses or nearly run over by cars, etc.) It was really sad and depressing. I don’t think anyone in our group enjoyed the horse and carriage. Perhaps if the tour companies get enough feedback from people who don’t like it, they will stop offering this service. I think it’s fine to hire horses/carriages in the country side. Just not in congested traffic where they are in distress and getting injured by vehicles.Written 7 January 2025
- yveshm950 contributionsEssential experience in EgyptWe had a fantastic time on our 2-day cruise from Aswan to Luxor. Despite the relatively short duration, we managed to complete all the essential stops (Abu Simbel, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Luxor West & East Bank) in a mere 3 days not least thanks to the excellent and seamless organisation. Bassant was very responsive in organising the trip and helping us with our add-ons (incl. subsequent transfer to Hurghada). Our most heartfelt thanks goes out to our amazing guide Shakour, who shared his deep knowledge and passion for ancient history with us and made our trip that much more enjoyable. We deeply appreciated his guidance and flexibility on-site so that we could fully immerse ourselves. The cruise ship itself was very clean, had all the necessary amenities and offered great food and service. We would recommend this cruise to anyone, even if your itenary is a bit tight like ours was.Written 6 January 2025
- C8504IYgonzalom0 contributionsDon’t miss itI will give my honest view, basically because I find very useless those reviews that say that everything was perfect. Overall, I recommend the experience. The good: the travel agency, specially Mona, was excellent. Mona took care of all the details before and during the trip. All the info was accurate. The representatives, guides, and drivers were on time and very professional. The boat was good but old style. Couldn’t avoid thinking about the Titanic movie. They even played the soundtrack. The boat was pretty much what I expected: a floating hotel with a restaurant, a lounge and a deck to sit back and relax. The rooms were small but clean. The food was good and abundant. The views from the deck were spectacular. These were the highlight of the trip and you won’t find them anywhere else. The not so good: the visits to the temples were very short. The guides tried hard to give good explanations but the visits were hard-pressed by the sailing schedules. If you really want to enjoy the sites you should plan for additional days. You can hire a guide and a driver in Luxor and visit Edfu and Kim Ombo in one day. We didn’t take the optional tours in Luxor. Many reviews say that this is a must but we are glad that we didn’t. These tours give lots of information but can be exhausting specially for kids. Finally, I have to say that I’m an independent traveler and had stayed away from cruises. I’m very happy that I went. After all, no trip to Egypt is complete without a Nile cruise.Written 30 December 2024
- jackiec1300 contributionsNever againWorst boat ever, absolute con,we were told there was a problem with our boat, and this was supposed to be an upgrade 😕 we both had food poisoning! Nothing was free all they wanted was money. The boat we booked had drinks with meals included, this had nothing not even water included. I will never come to Egypt again. It ruined the whole experience. Anyone that has the same experience make sure you put in a claim.Written 21 December 2024
- johnpH2461WZ0 contributionsAn excellent trip with wonderful memoriesA very comfortable and well equipped room. More delicious food than we could possibly eat and a very wide choice. Our guide to the temples and tombs was very well informed and we squeezed in so much in the time available. Hot air balloon flight was particularly memorable.Written 18 December 2024
- R970NVcarmeng0 contributions10/10 Recommend - Don’t Skip this PackageOur trip to Egypt with this package was incredible, a dream come true. We had new experiences and this travel company made it so that there was little-no thinking on our end. Initially Mona contacted us shortly after booking. Weeks and even days leading up to the trip, she was available to answer every question and curiosity. There were even moments where we were confused and irritated with logistics, yet Mona remained patient and explained everything to us. As the trip began (it was just my father and I), my dad didn’t get the international data plan on his phone. Mona couldn’t communicate with us. I contacted her instead. ALWAYS get the international plan so your trip details can come through. As long as someone has access to WhatsApp, your trip will be smooth. Mona put us in contact with each tour guide, the driver service and everything we needed. Even little things like breakfast to-go boxes from the hotel were facilitated by her. I must mention the driver service she linked us with led by Mohammed, which was excellent. The drivers themselves were Farouk and Sayiid. Farouk spoke great English and was our tour guide to the Pyramids and the Sphinx in Giza. Sayiid was not fluent in English but he was an absolute God send. When he picked us up from the overnight train, he helped us locate a lost cell phone. Regardless of the language barrier, he went far out of his way to track down the phone so we could receive it from a local police officer. We were so worried and he reassured us at every step. WOW, bless him. We saw both drivers at the beginning and end to our trip, which made us feel comfortable and familiar with our surroundings. The company’s guides were excellent all across the country, including the 4 night Nile cruise guide named Hatem. Hatem is a master Egyptologist and really taught us so much! Hatem was gracious, kind and made my father’s birthday special with small and thoughtful details. Mona even checked on our safety as we traveled home. I cannot rave enough about the care this company took and how much we recommend the 8 night tour! Do it and your life will be better with a million new unforgettable memories.Written 17 December 2024
- TongLiu1110 contributionsA fantastic experience. The 6 day river Nile cruise was very well organised. Our rooms on board were a good size, clean and comfortable. The meals on board were delicious and we enjoyed them all. Heba Mona was our tour operator and communicated with me everyday making sure that everything went well. All the tour agents and drivers came to attend us on time. All the historical sites were spectacular and well worth visiting, way beyond my expectations. I would recommend taking a flight from Cairo to Aswan instead of the sleeping train as the conditions on the train weren’t very good. I would give 5 stars if our tour guide was a bit more proactive, and if we had been arranged to visit Luxor temple in the daytime instead of in the evening when it was dark.Written 17 December 2024
- hungmuit0 contributionswonderful journey wonderful egyptVery perfect itinerary. I booked the trip through a local travel agency. Aswan tour guide Mina was waiting for us at the pier early in the morning and took us to visit Philae Temple and Koba. Check-in to the cruise ship before lunch. Since our English is not good, Mina was patient and gentle. She worked hard to communicate with us, ensured our daily itinerary, and helped us book bus tickets to Hurghada. Great thanks to him! The cruise was very good. The program was rich. The food changed every day. The room was clean. The staff was courteous. We all enjoyed it. I believe I will come again in the future and will miss this trip!Written 8 December 2024
- 109harryp0 contributionsInteresting trip with a lot of history.Booked a tour with Voyage Prive for eight days first two days went to view the Pyramids and museums then had a four day trip on the Nile visted many temples. It was worth the experience good food at the Hotel which was fine also good service on the river barge/boat but not sure how one could get away from the very crowded river and constant exhaust fumes from the string of accompanying boats , the trip along the river was interesting pleasant apart from the fumes. It may be possible to avoid some of the crowd on the river if you went on the trip as an individual. that way you would hire your own boat and arrange your departure to avoid some of the crowd.Written 5 December 2024
- lucasdC5321KD0 contributionsEgypt Cruise Nov 24’Amazing trip and very well organized all around. Our tour guide Mohammed was fantastic and full of energy and excitement every day of the trip. Ahmed was our tour guide for the first day only and was also very accommodating taking us to local places in Luxor. Bassant was phenomenal and helpful as we were planning everything. Overall great experience and well worth the money.Written 3 December 2024

- N4022NTlisab0 contributionsAmazing ExperienceThe overall experience has been amazing. Both tour guides (Faruk and Hatem) have a passion for Egypt and history. We felt safe throughout our entire trip. Both guides accommadated the needs of the group. A recommendation is to bypass the train. It is an "experience", but isn't condusive to a great night of sleep. Highly recommend adding the night tour of Luxor.Written 30 November 2024

Fun! Our tour guide, Ramzy Ahmed was awesome— very attentive to our needs, helpful, efficient and knowledgeable of all the sites we’ve visted. Ramzy made sure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I would highly recommend his services.
We learned that the best time to visit is from October to May when the weather is cool and comfortable. Summer months could be really hot and a little inconvenient to tour the sites since the temperature could go up to 115degrees F!
Overall a wonderful experience!
