          Outstanding experience highly recommend!
I booked the tour last minute , Mahmoud was very friendly and make sure that everything is good before traveling to Alxandaria. Our guide Hamda was very professional and made sure we are comfortable during the trip. Finally we met our guide Wessam she is do kind , knowledgeable and friendly. We booked the tour with option the food tour. Our operator Yoma asked us if we prefer sea food or local Alxandarian food , we chose the local one and we didn't regret anymore. We tried the falafel , Shawarma and Koshary and for desert rice with milk was very testy Infront of Cournih. If you didn't visit Alxandaria with this company you definitely missed alot of fun! I definitely will come again with my mom next year.

          Don't hesitate! BOOK THIS TOUR!
An exceptional tour! From the start 5 ⭐s. Mariem contacted us. Gave us all of the details. She also communicated through to the end of the tour. David was our guide. He was full of knowledge about, not only the churches we visited, but also about the history that involved them. Our driver, Haney (I'm not sure if that is how you spell his name) navigated us through the streets of Cairo expertly. If this is an example of the tours Explore Egypt Tours provide them I will be booking with them again!!!

          Breathtaking view, most memorable experience
This is the most memorable experience we had in Egypt, and I've been to Egypt 3 times already! The view was breathtaking, the experience surreal. You would be able to see the entire milky way, enjoy the serenity, breathe the pure crisp air and savor super delicious Bedouin foods, and look at the out-of-this-world breathtaking view of the Black and White deserts. Our guide Muhammad Ali showed us all the hidden beauty that this area has to offer. This is a truly hidden gem in the desert of Egypt, and I would recommend this trip to any friends. One more reason for my recommendation: you're supporting the impoverished local Bedouin tribes, and hell them cope with the harsh living conditions. Experience it before this becomes famous and gets flocked with tourists like Cairo and Luxor.

          Great introduction to Cairo
Thanks to Yoma for organising this and Mahmoud, our great tour guide. We enjoy food tours as a fabulous way to get around and familiarise us with a new culture. We were picked up on time from our hotel and came back safely 6 hours later. Lots of different foods were sampled, we strolled around with the guide between places and were picked up by the driver again to see the market and mosque. Central Cairo is very busy with lot’s of people and traffic and noise, but that is what we came for. The food is authentic and often from tiny places that we would have never found ourselves. Mahmoud gave us the background and it was all very relaxed. Just what we needed on our first day.

This isn’t a food tour, extremely dissatisfied
An absolute rip off. This is not a food tour, the women that was our guide (Marwa) took us to a restaurant where we weren’t given even 1 option, they just bring us a plate that was cold, full fish (with head and all) fried calamari cold, we needed to pay for the drink we had (a juice) the lunch was rushed. She didn’t let the driver stop in one of the spots we were supposed to visit, run personal errands while we were on tour and took us to a “papirus institute” that wasn’t an institute but just a store that sold papirus many times more expensive than other places around Cairo (over $100 for a papirus you can buy for $10) After that I told her I wasn’t going to buy anything and then she rushed us the rest of the time. Sat next to us looking mad, while we eat that terrible plate of food. The price is not worth it, is not a food tour, (tour for us is something where you get options and they show you various foods from a place) you are better taking the ones that are $40 and you choose what and were do you want to eat. Was the only bad experience we had in Egypt. Do not buy this tour you will regret it.

          City tour
Explore Egypt Tours have been fantastic and made our holiday truly memorable. Mariem (Tour Organiser), was very good at updating us and communicating everything we needed immediately. Samaa (tour guide) was fantastic, sharing her cultural insights and providing us with an interesting tour of Cairo city life. The food experiences were great. I would highly recommend this tour to immerse yourself into life in Cairo.

          Excellent tours!
We used Explore Egypt for two different tours in Cairo - Old Cairo & the NMEC, and a food tour. We really enjoyed both tours. The guides were enthusiastic, friendly and informative. Mariam Mousa, the travel consultant, was very helpful in arranging all the logistics and sharing detailed information about the tours in advance. We appreciated all the support she provided. I definitely recommend working with Mariam and Explore Egypt.

          Cairo street food!
We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour through Cairo with Mahmoud. We had four street food stops (all great) plus a relaxing stop for mint tea when we had a chance to quiz each other about local life in our respective countries. It was fun observing daily life in Cairo while walking to each food stop. The evening walk through the bazaar and stop at the mosque was a lovely end to our day.

Great Day 1 tour when visiting Egypt!
We had a great visit to Old Cairo and the NMEC (National Museum of Egyptian Civilization) with our guide Hazem. He provided insightful commentary for the sites in Old Cairo and guided us through key artifacts in the NMEC. The NMEC is an absolutely must do while in Cairo. We visited before our Nile cruise, which provided some historical structure for the days ahead.

Brilliant food tour - must do!
This was a really amazing trip with Explore Egypt Tours. Mariem was really helpful in organise the details of our tour and we had a brilliant day with Mahmoud and our driver. Mahmoud took us to loads of great local spots to try delicious Egyptian cuisine. There were lots of stops to rest along the way and so much food to eat, were so full by the end. Mahmoud is a great guide and we had such a nice time chatting and getting to know him. I would definitely recommend this trip to everyone from solo female travellers to groups. We were really looked after from begging to end!

          Fantastic First Day Activity!
A food tour is a great way to start the first day in a new place! Our travel consultant Hayam was a good communicator, answered my questions and made sure we knew what to expect on the day of our tour. Our tour guide Mahmoud was so much fun, and everything went smoothly. The food was all delicious, I think the first stop was my favorite. Our driver was friendly, prompt and safe. We highly recommend Explore Egypt Tours!

First of all we have to thank Marianne, from Explore Egypt Tours, for getting us tickets less than 24 hours before visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum!
Then we were lucky enough to have the legendary tour guide named Nasser as a private guide for this experience. He was extremely knowledgeable about everything in the museum and well beyond that in general. And, he helped us get tickets to the sold out Tutankhamun visual experience less than 45 minutes before it started...which is nuts!!

We really wanted at least a glimpse inside the new Grand Egyptian Museum and had thought we had missed the chance when our arrival in Cairo was delayed because of a flight cancellation. Explore Egypt Tours were prepared to be flexible and reorganise it when we were available. The whole tour was excellent and everyone involved was great. Yoma was easy to work with right from the beginning even before we left Australian and happy to postpone the tour. Mahmoud was very pleasant and friendly. Nasser was an excellent guide and made the visit to the GEM informative and fun. Finally, we were driven from the hotel and back safely and well by the driver. The museum will be amazing when it finally opens and we are very happy that we managed as much as we did. We would totally recommend Explore Egypt Tours.

Amazing building. I wasn’t sure how much I would be able to see given the museum is not open yet but we went into the atrium of this huge beautiful structure and saw great statues. The outside was worth the trip but the inside was stunning in its grandeur.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is still not fully open. My speculation is that it won’t fully open until 2024 or even 2025. However a visit now does not disappoint. The building itself is spectacular & worth seeing. There are 5 large antiquities that can be viewed. 2 large statues of Ramses II, plus a pillar, a huge obelisk & more. If you’re eager to see the GEM, this is your chance. Just don’t expect to see much of the collection. It appears that a lot of the building is still under construction. So caveat emptor: this is just for those here in Cairo now who really want a taste of what’s to come.

My guide Nassar was helpful in pointing out & explaining aspects of the antiquities. If there is an official museum tour available, it is worthwhile.

My guide Samaa Atef met me at my hotel on time with a driver and took us to the Great Egyptian Museum in Giza. She explained each of the monuments including the hanging obelisk and giant Ramses. The building itself is amazing to regard. There was no book or video about this award winning amazing museum structure. She encouraged me to try some unique local dishes in the Egyptian cafe.

This was the most memorable tour on our trip to Egypt. Our tour guide, Nasser, was incredibly flexible and kind! He helped us add an excursion to the tour last minute and reminded us about the value of family. He took us to a phenomenal restaurant (the Blue Nile), and kept us punctual as we requested.

We had an amazing time with our tour guide, Mr. Nasser. Although only parts of the GEM was open from what we were able to see it’s going to be in amazing experience for people when it fully opens to the public. Mr. Nasser was very knowledgeable giving us a bit of history at each site we saw. Some of the shops were open and Mr. Nasser was very patient while we sample some deserts and shops there. Hi highly recommend this tour.

We went to a private tour of the new GEM with Explore Egypt Tours/ Azmy Salama and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. It was a great addition to our Giza stay and even better, we got to see this magnificent museum before it opens! I would highly recommend!

While we were in Cairo, we were fortunate to hear about possible tours of the the as-yet unopened Grand Egyptian Museum, which, when it opens, will house more than 50,000 artifacts, including those from the tomb of Tutankhamen. Occupying some 120 acres, it will be the largest museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization, and it is not scheduled to open to the public until October 2020. We lucky to be able to book a tour on short notice before we left Egypt. The building is spectacular, and our visits to the different conservation labs were incredibly informative and interesting. Adam, who coordinated our visit, was both friendly and professional, and he was extremely responsive to questions and messages. This was a day trip, but we would be VERY happy to book a multiple-day tour on our return to this beautiful and fascinating country.

I had hoped to see inside the museum, but we only went the the Conservation area and that was beyond my expectation! Talking to some of the conservators and sharing their passion for their jobs was fabulous. We got a sense of what conservation actually means at the GEM and what an overwhelming job it is. The time just flew by.
